This song and production of this song is the finest expression of human joy that I have ever heard, and I am an old timer in numerical terms. How could anyone not be filled with joy when listening to this, no matter what musical tastes you harbour. Some things just cut across it all and enter your heart, and this is one of them.
No autotune, lotta talent. They didn’t speak fluent English in the early days but they sang the words phonetically, they also recorded in Spanish and Swedish 👍
and in German, and in French, and... If they hadn't disbanded so early, I would probably have the honor of hearing them and in my own Serbian-Croatian language.
I didn't say it ironically but i really think it was too much work.. it would be better if they had time for many other things and to make videos for many songs And many songs remained unfinished ( Just like that..
What does pop really mean? Catchy and popular I guess. But it is funny that people assume Pop is easy, but it really is difficult to produce music with widespread appeal. If it wasn't, everybody would be dong it. If you want the perfect pop song then react to ABBA "SOS" 1975 TV performance (not the official video please) If you want to know just how good ABBA were at crafting a pop song try "Name of the game" Or for something a little rockier try ABBA "Eagle"
I think the videos that are around of ABBA in the US are shocking quality from the 70s but that's probably because of the US's outdated TV standard (NTSC) . This video was taken from a Swiss TV special and the European TV standard (PAL) was much better. It's fine to call ABBA pop - they're popular with most of of the planet. Looking forward to more of their huge catalogue of hits.
ABBA Probably one of the best groups of all time. Hit after Hit- 9 studio albums, 2 live albums, 7 compilation albums, 4 box sets, 5 video albums, 50 singles and 43 music videos- sold more than 150 million records. All this was 40 years ago!
I have been around for a long time now and have heard a LOT of music, but I have never heard any two people who can harmize like these ladies. It's literally as if they were born to sing together with how they compliment each other so well. For years I had a celebrity crush on Anni-Frid (redhead). Now she's a princess... literally. They released a new album recently and sound as great as ever despite their ages. Only down side to it is there will be no promo tour of any kind due to Benny's poor health
Growing up in Sweden in the 70s and 80s ABBA was THE soundtrack to most peoples lives. My mom dancing and singing in the kitchen to ABBA while cooking. ABBA on the radio everywhere. They wrote so many iconic songs it's hard to imagine! To me ABBA is in a league of their own. The standards of their songwriting and arrangements are amazing! Comparing them to modern pop music is stupid and silly. Björn and Benny has more musicality in one single toe nail than most artist today can reach in a lifetime, making 3 chords computer pop. ABBA is also a reminder that music actually WAS better in the past. Remember that ABBA was considered to make cheap commersial crap back in the days. Nowadays we celebrate them and talking about their songs as masterpieces.
I recommend you react to their song "SOS" next. Pete Townshend of The Who and John Lennon of the Beatles both called it the greatest pop song ever written.
Winter songs are usually Christmas songs... or the music by Trans Siberian Orchestra. But if u truly want WINTER songs, nothing says freezing cold winter like Norwegian/ Scandinavian black metal music... They sound like a winter blizzard in full glory - harsh, cold and unrelenting... 🥶👿Bands (and their tracks) to check out - Emperor ('Ye Entrancemperium') Mayhem ('Freezing moon') Dimmu Borgir ('Mourning Palace') Borknagar ('The dawn of the end') Immortal ('The call of the wintermoon') Marduk ( 'Funeral dawn')
After Bjorn and Agnetha of Abba separated and divorced in 1978, it was no coincidence that breakup songs like 'Chiquitita' began to emerge by 1979/ 1980.
@@iykeharrison9161 Those lyrics were written by Bjorn after he and Agnetha split up... He wrote the song about someone trying to cheer up his lover/partner after the end of their relationship. "In your eyes there is no hope for tomorrow How I hate to see you like this There is no way you can deny it" --------- And it was Abba's pattern of working together that Bjorn would write lyrics for Agnetha to sing in the studio... "Try once more like you did before, Sing a new song, Chiquitita" If u can't see the obvious, that's on you... Bjorn has admitted that sorrow from breakups after their divorces was running theme in Abba's final albums - songs like: 'The winner takes it all'... 'One of us' ... 'Happy new year'... 'When all is said and done'... 'Our last summer'...
Around this period of time the fashion world introduced designer eye ware….usual the designer’s signature and/or logo would be towards the bottom corner of the lenses….
I’m a Swede, and indeed ABBA had a great sense for melodies and the production was always top. But the beat and rhythm is just way too happy-go-lucky and does not represent the scandinavian moodiness very well, maybe the creepy snowman do though. 🤣 For a more gritty and guitar wailing view of Swedish music, please check out Hellacopters - Hopeless case of a kid in denial!!
We in the UK moan about the lack of warmth and sun but we are fortunate enough to have a warm Atlantic. If a Brit spent more than a year in Sweden they would soon be back thinking we were tropical. 😄
Me personally, the video is good.. they have so many good songs for which they didn't have time make a video(they spent time on many things, for example, they recorded songs over and over again in many languages) , so every shot of them in their beauty and youth is precious Frida is so beautiful here..and Aggy, of course
The happiest sad song in the world.
A masterpiece of song writing and performing.

I agree. They sing together. No screaming match trying to out sing each other like performers do these days.
What? Benny is having a poor health? 😢
This one and Fernando are favorites from ABBA. Agnethas voice just beautiful.
FRIDA SANG LEAD ON FERNANDO. IT WAS HER SONG ON HER SOLO ALBUM FRIDA ENSAM

ABBA built their own studio that was very cutting edge for the time - Led Zeppelin used it to record their last studio album In Through the Out Door.
Yes indeed also Genesis,Big Country too amongs others.
ABBA's secret of success imho is Benny's piano and Agnetha's voice!!
Bjorn and Frida are just as integral to the success of ABBA. There was no "secret."
Hole in your soul? Fill it with ABBA ❤
My favorite ABBA song is "THE WINNER TAKES IT ALL" (original video) ❤
...for me, ODE TO FREEDOM
🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶
The Day Before You Came is my favorite ABBA song. Do that one!!!
Beautiful voices , thanks Biz
Frostitita 😉
Great Frida lead vocal. She is amazing. Best vocal range and talent. Can sing high or low
ABBA donated all the profits from this song to UNICEF. That equates to millions.
We are in Winter here in New Zealand and I listen to them in any season for the last 49years. Great reaction.
heck yes, Biz...enjoy this one lol
simply beautiful! ♥
They are Angels....
great song, thx. check out Dancing Queen live from Australia

Great job Biz I thought you had shut it down but glad you didn't! GOD BLESS!
