    To prevent the 5th Wheel plate from being scratched, I suggest using silicon grease or a disc of thin white cardboard surrounding the trailer's kingpin. ;-)

    Is 80t motor too slow for this Grand Hauler? Or an overkill compared to the 55t? Just want a realistic to scale speed.

    Interesting you use a heat gun for shrink wrap? I have always used the side of the soldering iron. I was shown this as an apprentice and done it that way ever since. I’m 80 now and never had a problem with that method.

    Quick question Bob, I LOVE your Simple Green Chrome removal. I want to keep a portion of the Chrome on some of the parts. Is it possible to paint over some of the chrome.?Chrome.?? I will ba airbrushing using Faskolor and Proline paints. No reaction to the chrome.??Chrome.??? Let me know. I am on the fenders now. Awesome series by the way.!!

    • @HobbyconceptsLLC
      @HobbyconceptsLLC  ปีที่แล้ว

      You can paint over chrome but is just not stick well. Strip what you can and then rough up the chrome a bit before painting. I use Super Clean to strip chrome.

    I plan to build my first 1/14 truck and trailer. what is the difference between the Grand Hauler and King Hauler other than looks? Is it the same frame, etc? Also does the King Hauler Black Edition not need to be painted?

    • @HobbyconceptsLLC
      @HobbyconceptsLLC  ปีที่แล้ว

      The Grand Hauler has a longer frame. Some of the body add ons like exhaust, lights, air cleaners etc are different. The Black editions of both trucks are pre-painted and do not need additional painting.

  • @phoenixrising4573

    Is there any reason I couldn't 3d print a micro servo bracket and make the 5th wheel a remote release as it comes? I don't want an MFU, I'm planning to use a beir, but I would like the remote function. I can't find it separately at this point.

    • @HobbyconceptsLLC
      @HobbyconceptsLLC  ปีที่แล้ว

      Actually all you need is a flat plate under the chassis. I hook the servo to that and then make a link to the plate. If you use a micro servo you can hide everything below deck height.
