  • One way to travel in the Philippine capital, Manila, is by being pushed along railway tracks in a metal trolley. It's quicker and cheaper than other options, but threatens the lives of the homeless people who push the commuters in the gaps between the trains.

    Passengers choose this unofficial - and illegal - transport service to save time and money.
    The homeless community that runs the illegal service put their lives at risk because it gives them some kind of income. But it's also incredibly dangerous as they cross bridges on foot and try to dodge fast-moving trains.

    I've been to Manila so I've seen Filipinos up close. They are one of the smartest, bravest people on this plane. Their ingenuity is obvious when they take a bundle of sticks some carriage wheels and turn it into a passenger service.❤

    I would honestly, enjoy this ride, at least once. I would grab a coffee and a sandwich for the ride. It's like a roller-coaster ride with a bit of risk thrown in for that extra adrenaline rush.
    I would only feel bad that it's such hard work.

    Is that last year or more? because people are not wearing face mask. And the train liveries are old.

      I think that at that time masks weren't mandatory in that country, like mine.

      I think people who have to push a homemade train full of people for 16 hours a day have slightly bigger issues to deal with than if they're wearing a mask or not.

      Believe me its far from the truth. There are people who lives like this. But its mere a percentage… 100 plus million people and they would report the worst as always to discourage people from investing and going to the country. See there is train.. y ride there really? Its the den of the lazy who dont want to walk a mere 20 meter…walk…thats also illegal..

      The Philippines now has the highest growth rate in the SEA region. How about Malaysia? The economy and growth rate is declining.

      What are you on about

    • @smoothie4448
      @smoothie4448 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@karamelflan Philippines GDP growth rate is always at the top since quarter one of 2022. Also, since you don’t know, Philippines debt per GDP is one of the lowest in this region. Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand has higher debt lol.
      USD to PHP exchange rate doesn’t really matter. Look at the exchange rate of Japan. 1 PHP is equals to 2.45 YEN. 1 Indian Rupee is equals to 1.77 YEN. See? No matter how low the Japanese yen is, everyone knows that Japan obviously has a lot more higher GDP than Philippines and India.
