    Not just by Miles, but also, by Time
    O-rings flatten out, lose elasticity, especially O-rings made of Buna and immersed in hot oil, the result is the loss of sealing ability, then the symptoms start in as described in this great video here. Great job guys.

    M E53 X5 (M54) has had a very faint rattle coming from the front end. Where the vanos unit is. That unit was rebuilt/resealed. Now I wonder if something was done incorrectly.
    Car runs fine, no weird issues etc.

    In addition to the valve cover sealant areas, only use a factory valve cover gasket. The aftermarket ones are junk and will leak much faster than the factory one.

    hey I have a 2003 325i that used to be automatic ..now it has a 1999 motor and standard transmission.. after the swap how did you program the auto trans light off..Did you program it out of the start up sequence?? If so can you do a vid on deleting light..How to program that request to find the transmission on start up and getting that light to go off on the instrument cluster.

My memory stinks but I'm pretty sure you guys went riding up by some kind of biker bar in Georgia and they had some incredible roads you both drove on.. do you remember where that was or what the biker bar was called?

    Consider yourselves lucky in that climate, where "dropping the subframe" sounds like a Wednesday. With how crusty/rotted (even treated, re: Krown) the front and rear subframe are on my 10 year old G sedan (188,xxx km), deciding to drop the subframe for engine mounts or in my case steering rack replacement is life v. death decision. Good chance the car is totaled, subframes can't be found up here. Shipping from Southern US is 1K+ (Z1, Georgia). Road salt is the automobile grim reaper up in Canada.

    • @michaeltutty1540
      @michaeltutty1540 ปีที่แล้ว

      Krown works. I know because the underside of my 1990 Volvo 240 wagon is still not bad at all. Even the bolts holding in the gas tank came off without difficulty. Then again, with a Red Block the main and rod bearings can be fine without shifting the engine.

    Do you think a 2003 330i for $ 5700that has 142k miles with the only real problem being a power steering leak and a few cosmetic scratches is a good deal?

    • @Maroco918
      @Maroco918 ปีที่แล้ว

      Get it for 4500 and it would be a good deal. Only way it's worth it is if the whole suspension has been replaced and all maintenance has been kept up. You can be 4 grand deep in suspension on those very quickly. The oil and suspension leaks these cars usually have can be remedied fairly cheap if your mechanically savy.

    • @Maroco918
      @Maroco918 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@christianwendel7752 honestly that's more preference and not something that effects the value as much. Sunroof vs non sunroof can change value mildly. At this point in the cars depreciation life cycle, options and features give way to body/interior condition and what maintenance the car has recently received.
