4:50 You don't need to use color picker. All previous colors that were used should be in the palette that shows up when you click with the right button.
in the tool options, make sure you have "limit to current layer" unchecked. especially if you have the color in a separate layer. also, make sure the outline of the ball is totally closed, no holes
And also wondering why you have to make new frames for colours when there are already... So isit at the '1st second' there will be 2 frames. One colour and one sketch? (:
Thanks so much for your video. I m currently a begineer with no knowledge. Your video helps me understand alot, but still pretty new around this whole thing! (:
@@wonghuienjezreel4129 correct i always have lines and color on separate layer, it makes it easier for me to change them. also you can go to settings -> configure krita to change the shortcuts. just search for "frame" in the search bar for shortcuts and it should give you the various shortcuts for adding, deleting, and editing frames
Thanks so much. I learned 3 things from this not just 1. I learned there is a magic select something which was hidden till i pulled the tool box open. I learned the paint bucket and how to make it fill all.
Thank you for the video. BUT you REALLY should mention that: 1. In Fill Tool Options we need ON "Sample: All layers", or we just gonna fill the whole empty layer under the liner layer and 2. before coloring we need to off the "onion skins" on liner layer, or Fill Tool make white emptiness. Excuse me my bad English.
Thanx for the tutorials, very helpful! Any advice regarding planning of different layers in an animation? I see you have one for sketch, one for outlining, one for color etc. Why? Do you ever split a character so the different parts like arms, legs, eyes etc are on different layers. A bit confusing how to know how many layers to use.
For me it increases the quality if I do 2 or 3 passes. I do gesture sketches with high energy as if I was doing a rough pencil test with traditional animation. After that, I clean it up and try to establish form on another layer, like going over a pencil sketch with a black pen. I try to imitate the traditional methods of cel layering, which is very efficient. When it comes to character parts, refer to one of the 12 principles of animation called secondary animation. The easiest example is hair or a cape. It’s easier to move the body first, and then animate the hair and cape later as it follows the body.

thanks for posting this, I was really struggling trying to make a snake come out of the toilet and had the snake on it's own layer but wasn't sure why it wasn't showing up... it is because each layer needs its own frames derp.
If in the second frame I want the ball in the same position,is there anyway I can duplicate the first frame and make it second frame so that I can add something to it with the first frame as it is so it looks like in the first frame there's one ball, and in second frame first ball is there only and another new ball is there?
yes! so the "Add duplicate frame" button is right next to the new blank frame. Press that button at a frame after the one you want to copy, and you are free to move it around and edit it. you can also set a shortcut for "Add duplicate frame"
Thanks for the tool options tip, I believe it will be of much help in the near future; quick question tho, why create a new layer for color underneath the lineart layer? Is it to be able to make adjustments to the lines or colors without having to go back or affect the other?
that's correct. sometimes i notice later on that my lines are off and i don't want to mess with color as i readjust the lines. it's just a good precaution to take
Thank you so much for your tutorial. I tried colouring the circles but my circles on the frames overlap. So when I try to fill them with colour, it still shows lines from the overlapping circles. What would I need to do about this to completely fill the circle?
@@lavanya2675 for some reason they do get in the way when you are trying to use the fill tool. i usually turn them off temporarily before i fill with color
Hello thank you so much for these videos!! One question (I'm a beginner)- I've seen other people outline a character within the lines (on a color layer) with what looks like a colored brush, and then fill in the color of what they outlined. Then they go to the details of the character and repeat with the different colors. So they would have filled the gooey guy completely with yellow, then gone over the yellow with white for the eyes, then over the yellow with pink for the mouth. Is there a reason they are doing this vs using the fill tool?
i'm not sure. it sounds like the fill tool would simply be faster. either they don't want to use it, don't know about it, or there is some method to the madness that i don't know about.
