I have two of these plants and I just love them. They really like my LED light on my desk so I keep them close. I love the bumpy texture of the leaves and what doesn't translate in photos or video is the gorgeous metallic sheen on the leaves. Mine bloomed with orange flowers about a month ago.
I find if they get dry they will droop sadly so I test the soil regularly to keep track of the moisture level. I'd say this plant is in my top 5 favourite plants.

my superior's office has one exactly like this and it just grew so well hidden at a corner just under the usual fluorescent light! Definitely definitely a low light plant to recommend! :)

This plant also has the maroon colored leaves and pink flowers as oppose to the greenish color with red flowers one of my favorites

Glad to see this. I was told they have high humidity needs. Good to know they’re not that high maintenance ☺️

That episcia is popular here when i was young. We have it as a hanging plant and it flowers generously.

I've had one Episcia sp. 'Silver Skies' for about 25 years. It started by a cutting from a co worker. It changed a lot over the years, at some points it was big and beautiful and other times it almost died but it always came back...now it is coming back.

I was actually just going to write another commenter who is struggling with theirs that Epicia have this way of ebbing and flowing. Glad you're confirming the same. Mine too has contracted a bit after this showing but with spring coming, it's starting to flush again

I love Episcias. Theyre actually in the Gesneriaceae (African Violet) family. They can grow even in direct sun given enough watering. Such versatile plants.

Got "Strawberry Fields" last Sept. So sorry, Summer, that you lost yours. The foliage makes a nice contrast to Silver Skies. Maybe try again, with Spring coming on and your better understanding of its needs.

Episcia tend get a bum rap! I love that you keep featuring them. They're super easy as long as you keep them warm. Warm as in never below 60°F. For me, it's the one plant I believe you shouldn't buy via mail order as the shipping process is stressful for them and they don't really bounce back to their full glory.

@@summerrayneoakes I lost one to a sudden Northeast Spring cold snap just by temporarily placing her on closed window sill. The cold off the window glass was enough to do it!

mine is struggling right now. the leafs feel like as if there was not enough turgor/water in them. you didn't say anything about watering or the potting medium... i have mine in terracotta and am watering it pretty often. Does someone have advice?
    thanks :)
