Hello, great video. I just got a Cleopatra. I heard you say you had trouble growing so you put in terrarium. I never done terrariums. My question is how do you water them in there?
I also love episcisa. I lost my picaso, and c leopatra. Also my pink dreams. My pink smoke is holding on. I also have the made one, a dark brown, with two different colors, orange and yellow and orange mixed in it. I have been looking thru everything on the internet to find out what its name is. This video is about three yrsold. Did you do any other videos???
I too found that some are easier to grow than others. They also require more space than violets. I no longer grow Cleopatra, Faded Jade, Strawberry Patch, Silver Sheen, and Silver Skies. The others are still holding on. Here is my Episcia playlist, check it out for more videos: th-cam.com/play/PLUjJPrUsRFqLqqC0fMx78ybE-LmlbCjXv.html&si=42-uwoGJKR9IDo6B
I grow them in 50/50 peat moss and perlite, some are top watered, and others - wick-watered. 1/8 teaspoon per gallon of water of Jack's Classic 20-20-20, for wick-watered - partial shade, natural light mostly.
Hello new friend here your episcia plants are so gorgeous I love 💕 those plants I just subscribe to your channel thanks 🙏 for sharing your beautiful video watching from California have a very nice day
Check out my potting mix video, I use the same mix to grow all of my plants: th-cam.com/video/pLLcZOfIo-E/w-d-xo.html. I grow most of them using the same wick watering method that I use to grow my African Violets: th-cam.com/video/iHcYCCjPVGo/w-d-xo.html. There are a couple that I water by hand - once or twice a week, whenever the top of the soil looks dry. Happy growing!
So nice finding your video. I need help! My Cleopatra almost died but is coming back. Also finally found an Ember Lace but seem to be losing it. It may be a humidity problem--put in a bubble but the leaves started to get mushy. Do you ever get mushy leaves? Thanks for any advice
Glad you liked it! I lost one of mine, too, it was Faded Jade - still learning. The tricky part about growing them in a bubble is to make sure the potting mix is light and airy, mine is 50 ProMix-BX/50 medium-coarse perlite, and also allow some access of air (I cover mine and leave a little space where the air can access to the inside of the terrarium). Also, important to add a layer of horticultural charcoal on the very bottom, under the potting mix, and water sparingly. Happy growing!
If you can find the silver shield variety, go get it. In the Philippines it's a common variety that's known for its resiliency to both hot and rainy season. Literally a hard to kill type of episcia.
Good afternoon, I do have a question regarding the soil recipe, do I have to wait a week after I mixed to use fir repotting? Or can I use right after mixing it?. Thank you in advance for you reply. Blessings ❤️
I usually wait for a week, for the garden lime to start working, but sometimes, when I need to use it right away, I skip the waiting period and it works ok, too. Happy growing!
@@conchyruiz2073 Just sold a few Pink Gators - all I had this spring. Moving this year, so inventory is quite limited. Should have more to offer next year, will make sure to propagate some episcia babies for you!
