You may not be able to stop a panic attack, but you can use strategies that make it shorter and less overwhelming. Janis Whitlock, PhD, has tips for how to get your mind off what you’re feeling and thinking and onto something that distracts and grounds you in the present moment.

Sometimes I do reverse psychology and I’m like “alright come on let’s go, give it to me, let’s have a panic attack so bad I take myself to the ER. Come on let’s get it over with” and that’s been the most effective strategy by light years so far. Take with it what you will

"Say what's happening - just naming
    slow your breathing
    grab something cold
    change your scene
    talk to yourself
    ""This will pass"
This all tips for panic seems like crap fitting into abuse.
Panic stems from external factor - not our brain itself - brain is reacting to abuse, manipulators, covert narcissists.
If we decide to self pathologize ourselves and calm ourselves down - we will enable abuse and actually this is why there are so many narcissists in the world -
because their targets are silent, never confront bullies, never leave them and stay stuck with covert abuse which appears as "normal" and something that is part of world, something that has always been and "there is nothing we can do" type of rationalizations.
Repressing our emotions - even uncomfortable ones is highly ineffective, highly dysfunctional and it leads to mental illness.
    Quotes to consider:
    Lundy Bancroft:
"Abuse is NOT caused by bad relationship dynamics. You can't manage your partner's abusiveness by changing your behaviour. But he wants you to think you can."
Carl Jung | Psychology and Philosophy 🧠, TWITTER:
The foundation of all mental illness is the unwillingness to experience legitimate suffering.

Do the carnivore diet. It will be hard at first and sugar withdrawal might make it worse for the first couple of days, but after all your mental health issues will GREATLY improve, if not go completely away. the way to do it is basically just eat decent quality beef, pasture raised eggs, butter, tallow to cook your meat or eggs in, and stay away from all forms of sugar, and vegetable seed oils (which is in almost everything packaged). These include safflower oil, sunflower oil, canola oil, soybean oil, vegetable oil, or any other type of oil ingredient, including hydrogenated vegetable oils. just literally eat beef, butter, bacon, eggs, beef tallow to cook your food in (never use margerine) its basically just made with nothing but seed oils.
Message me back if you have any other questions.

@jasondenney5989 yeah drop all sugar. Just do whole foods ( all beef diet) I'd best for mental health. Butter is fine just make sure it's real butter. If you absolutely must be food in a package look on the ingredients list and make sure it doesn't have seed oils of any kind, no maltdextrin and dextrose( synthetic sugars that aren't listed as sugar), grains or any ingredients that look sketchy. Basically do mostly carnivore diet. You can have fermented foods to

@@Amfxtrading mental health hotlines, they are free but I wouldn’t use them a lot because then you end up depending on them. The best way to conquer it is unfortunately to sit through it until it goes away. You keep doing that over and over again and soon your body automatically stops having these panic attacks. You just have to keep reminding yourself that you can handle bad emotions.

@samia6888 Hi, I have my exams from 9th Nov to 16th Nov. I had a panic attack today, and my heart was beating very fast, I am afraid, will it come again ? Can I also get a heart attack because of this?

    • @samia6888
      @samia6888 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@kakarot5219 no you can not get a heart attack because of this no matter how scary it feels because your body was designed to have this type of response. You have to do your best to calm your stress, I think the stress of the exam is triggering these panic attacks. When you feel one coming, just keep telling yourself you can handle it and it is just a panic attack. It will happen less and less until it stops. That is what happened to me.

First time I had a panic attack I thought it was a medical emergency, only realized that the woozy, animated feeling was me dissociating when I took my first flying lesson. Looking down that runway and throttling up for the first time the same feeling hit, like it wasn’t real, like I was watching everything happen. I still get that feeling sometimes but it’s getting better.

My Christmas was ruined because of a panic attack. I did everything I could to calm down but the more I was around my family the more anxiety I had. I felt like I had to pretend around them and I somehow felt more alone than I did then being alone. My stepdad was saying that I should have helped my mom with making the Christmas dinner and even though he's right I just don't have that much energy. I just kept thinking that if I help my mom more than I won't be yelled at by my stepdad. I felt like I was being ignored by my family and it made me even more rageful and the tears just kept flowing where I had to go upstairs. I am glad that I don't have to celebrate Christmas again because it's such a fake and phony holiday where people just focus on getting gifts and presents and people just eat. I am just tired of pretending.
