I was born in 92 This moment was ingrained in my head and it’s one of my favorite moments as a Mets fan by far. That 1999/2000 team defined my childhood as I went to shea on 5$ tickets lol
I met David Wright at a showcase in Virginia when I was 16. It was a weeklong camp called the “Best in Virginia” baseball camp. He and I were the only two 3b there. So we had a good time and battled it out. I told people about how sweet his hands were when I got home. He was a very nice kid. We kept in touch a little on America Online if anyone remembers that from the 90s. I would love to have a beer and catch up but he’s probably too big time now for that. I didn’t realize that he was in the bigs until I was watching the all star game and it showed a close up of his face. I think it was 05 or 06. What a small world. Best of luck Mets.
I loved the Orioles growing up in Bowie. Still love them, but the days of platooning and solid defense were the best. Earl, Eddie, Ken Singleton, et al made every game fun. And Rick Dempsey even made rain delays fun. Can I borrow somebody’s Time Machine? (mine is in the shop)
Rick would put a pillow in his jersey making him look like Santa Clause, then he'd dive through all the puddles and play to the crowd. Memorial Stadium memories!!!
