Dodge Journey clock-spring replacement 2013

  • How I replaced the clock-spring in my 2013 Dodge Journey. I had no cruise control, traction control light was on, so no traction control and the trajectory lines on the backup camera would not move when I turned the steering wheel. Code on computer showed "no steering angle sensor" "lost contact with steering column control module or sccm". This was all caused by a faulty clock-spring.

Same part replaced to fix an intermittent ghost horn that kept triggering the TIPM relay and drained the battery on a 2010 Journey SXT. No codes for that one. Neighbors just loved me when it was going off at 2 AM.
Cool puller mod. I was able to get my steering wheel off with tiny shimmies.
T20 Torx screws...10 mm bolts on the airbag...13 mm bolt on the steering wheel if it wasn't clear to everyone.
    Thanks for sharing. Great explanation.

No scanner. Been researching this for weeks. You are the first useful video I have seen. My girlfriends journey has the exact same problem

Very good video. Trying it as we speak. I put a flashlight to the side of the plastic then you can see the screen and black gunk clogging part of the screen.👍

My 2013 Dodge Journey has exactly the same issue. Traction light is always ON (nothing else). However, I am using a BlueDriver OBD scanner and it gives me different codes.
U0429-00 Invalid Data Received From Steering Column Control Module: No Sub Type
    Information MIL/CONFIRMED
C0051-49 Steering Wheel Position Sensor: Internal Electronic Failure
    MIL/CONFIRMED
C0037 Left Rear Wheel Speed Sensor: Signal Compare Failure
Did anyone else have the same code?

Hello. I have the same problem i my Fiat Freemont U0429 and C0051. Did you buy these newer version from Mopar like on this video? Where did you buy it? Thank you. I think the only solution is to change it. I'm resetting this error but its shows up about once a month.
