I was raped in college as a Freshman and could not and did not tell anyone. I've suffered unnecessarily for years because I didn't think the college would take my side over his. I am an adult survivor of rape,incest,assault ,stalking ,verbal,mental and physical abuse . I am so proud of this beautiful,proud woman,I went through therapy many years after the rape and incest,the other issues i dealt with through meditation and prayer . I don’t believe in organized religion as the “ religious “ people who verbally,mentally and physically abused were my own family. I believe in God and Jesus Christ ,or a higher power as some may call it ,without that knowledge i surely would have ended my life. Again,this lovey young woman deserves high praise for coming forward ,not just fir herself ,but every other victim of this heinous crime.

Here in Brazil things are very different, Mari Ferrer is a Brazilian girl who was raped in December 2018, was humiliated during her hearing by the aggressor's defense attorney last year, and yesterday we had the sad news that her aggressor was acquitted , because he is white and rich. Thank you for reporting it and preventing other girls from being assaulted, I'm grateful to Mari too! If you see this comment, I ask you to pray for her life, as many women avoid reporting because they feel humiliated and guilty, Mari denounced and even so justice was not done. 😥
Bill Cosby is also free, he has over 40 victims. Poor men also get acquitted all the time. Not bc rich or white, but bc of male privilege in patriarchy.

#metoo. I was raped by an acquaintance 40 years ago. Things were different back then. I never reported because I was drinking, knew him got in his car. I was a mess for years. I felt like I deserved it. I got therapy, became a social worker and married a wonderful man, 32 years now! You can survive. Never be ashamed. We are survivors! I am glad things have changed to no more victim blaming. God bless you. You gave me courage to actually, for the first time, say it! "I was raped".
