This was an excellent video on how to use car mirrors. You emphasized the importance of using the rear, side, and blind spot mirrors in tandem. This will save lives! You belabor where on the side mirror to place the blind spot mirror, but I'm going to take your lead and put it in the upper left corners since I want to see other cars in my blind spot and not use the blind spot for parking. Many thanks for your excellent information.
I like that you mentioned that you wont be using blindspot mirrors for parking.. because thats exactly what i want to use mine for. Im driving a midsize suv and for some reason its difficult for me to find the parking lines withoutu adjusting the mirrors lower. My vehicle does have blindspot monitoring system so i dont necessarily need blindspot mirrors for driving. I just need to see those damn parking lines especially when parking on a slant
Yes, that's what I want to use them for: to help check for other vehicles in my blind zone. I can use the ordinary door mirrors to assist with parking. So is it better in the upper left corner than bottom left?
I have this blind spot mirror on 1 vehicle and a round one on the other…I find the round blind spot mirror easier to adjust but they’re both very useful!
Great video explaining how to turn safer. Yes always be aware of your surroundings! Whether in a car or even out and about (on foot). Stay alert and don't just get locked looking forward! Oh and look out for motorcycles as well. Stay safe!
Thank you so much. I couldnt see properly in my blind spot, I bought some blind spot mirrors and this video really helped me to use them effectively and prevent accidents on the road. Thank you.
Good video. There's many TH-cam driving instructors in UK might learn something by watching this video. The only minor slight difference with my standard mirror mirrors is I would have them set in a way that I couldn't see any of the car in the the mirror. When changing lanes I would move my head slightly to check the side. Otherwise top class👍
Thanks for the video. It's kind of a trial and error to get the adjustment right. I use a parking lot with a few cars to get the adjustment ... But sometimes the mirrors get moved by people or when washing the car etc...I have found the blindspot mirror also helps with the merge onto the highway .. sometimes car can be right alongside at the same speed as you.. right in the transition from side to Blindspot mirror..(maybe mirror positioning was off) i have had that happen and it surprised me when I saw them in the shoulder check. Another case where i miss cars is If you are in the extreme left or right lane with 2 lanes on the other side.. sometimes you won't pickup the car 2 lanes over in any mirror (side or blindspot mirror).. and the 2 of you might be changing lanes into the same position.. So i still shoulder check...
had the same issue and ended up removing them, everytime you need to adjust correctly and most of the time you are not sure that it's adjusted and still have to look over.
i couldn't be without my blind spot mirrors, i have driven vehicles without a blind spot mirrors and i dont feel safe driving, but those blind spot mirrors have saved me from not seeing a car to my side.
These are useful, but since I just installed them, I’m not used to the mirrors yet. Everything seems magnified and I find it difficult compared to when I didn’t have them lol. I got a broadway mirror installed so I can see a much wider view than typical rear view mirror. Just thought I’d try blind spot mirrors as an added sense of security. I’ll try them a few more days but thinking of returning if not used to them haha
Thanks for the video and if I may say so the blind spot mirrors are even better than then the blind spot sensors as the sensors may get dirty and malfunction. The mirrors I like best. 😊
Last Friday I was driving back from the hospital and I navigated a roundabout. (In England we have roundabouts everywhere.) Then I got beeped by a car on my left as I was moving from the right lane to the left. I just did not see the vehicle in the blind zone or even when I looked over my shoulder to check. So as soon as I returned home I ordered these blind spot mirrors. They arrived today. One question I have is what position are they best placed on the door mirrors? I think most drivers fix them in the lower left or right corner, but in this video they are positioned further up.
My car has sensors as shown but they only function when you have your blinkers on. This is why it's critical to use your blinkers every time you plan to switch lanes. I'm looking for a set of blindspot mirrors that do not cover up my sensor indicators
It’s important to let a bit of the car visible. It’s important to see how close other vehicles are to your vehicle. It’s also needed when backing up in close spaces to see how close the rear or the vehicle is to objects 🫡
i've only ever seen people (instructors etc) put their blindspot mirrors on the bottom of the wingmirror (whereas yours is as the top) - does it matter?
It should be installed at the end and you can either choose to put it at the top or bottom. Having at the top or bottom just leave more viewing space on the main side mirror
@@linnellbrooks5711 I would advice not to rely on the mirrors for that. Use the mirrors but constantly look over your shoulders. You will get a very clear view by doing that. Also, it is critical to constantly look over your shoulders for safety. Examiners love to see that
In the interior mirrors of the car, the lights are on, and in the outside mirrors the lights are on, but after placing the side mirrors, the lights do not turn on hahahaha
I've been driving for many years but I was unable to explain my wife how this works, and this video does it so well. Thank you, great job. 👍
Glad it helped!🫡
This is the best illustration I have seen so far. Others have been nothing but opinions. This is very useful.

The design of the blind spot mirror will determine where best to install them. It can be installed upper or lower corners
I usually install in bottom closer Conner
Whatever that allows you to see you blind spot zone works 🫡

so how do you adjust your side mirrors? do you let a lil bit of the car visible or not at all?
It’s important to let a bit of the car visible. It’s important to see how close other vehicles are to your vehicle. It’s also needed when backing up in close spaces to see how close the rear or the vehicle is to objects 🫡

So is that the best place to put them at I got a rectangle one?
It should be installed at the end and you can either choose to put it at the top or bottom. Having at the top or bottom just leave more viewing space on the main side mirror
Is the field of view 180°?
That will depends on the range you are viewing
from the drivers seat @@trackpalmer
@@deerghayuphukan1215 it’s not possible to get 180 degrees view from a side mirror. You would have to check the rear mirror for that
Where the best place to put them at the top, middle or bottom?
Top... Because that area is not used a lot when viewing the side mirrors.
Would this help you backing up ?
Absolutely .. especially if little kids or small animals in the blind spot area
