Unseen64 is an independent, non-profit online archive dedicated to the preservation of videogame history. Unseen64 contributors help document prototype, cancelled and unreleased videogames by archiving information, images, and videos for future reference. This video details the development of an open world Flash video game. The project was developed by Bottlerocket Entertainment, who was mostly comprised of ex-staff members from Sony San Diego. The project also had involvement from Warner Brothers, who had the license for DC Comics’ franchise and character of Wally West. Through Liam's analysis, it’s easy to see the title's gameplay was ambitious even in its prototype stage. In its earliest stages, the developers even considered having cameos from other super heroes such as Batman and Superman. The target platforms for Battlerocket's game were the Xbox 360, Sony's PlayStation 3 (PS3) and the Nintendo Wii.

Honestly; This sounds way better than a simple Arkham clone. A morality system, open world mechanics, speed demons but most importantly a speedster multiverse.

I think their strategy might have worked a little better in today's gaming environment. If they were able to actually fund smaller scale games that were good, they would be able to distribute them digitally. But they ran out of money making jumper. Oops.

Somebody must still have the assets, or this video wouldn't have been able to show anything. Liam contacts staff of the studios that were developing these games to see if they have any assets or information, as most of the time this stuff isn't publicly available, so somebody must have given the assets to him.

I wouldn't be surprised if a game like this is still in development by another studio now that The CW Flash TV show is so popular. I'm kinda shocked DC hasn't tried cashing in with some kind of game based in the "Arrowverse" already.

Current talk of the town is that WB Montreal (not Rocksteady, oops) was working on making a Suicide Squad game and a Batman game where Damian is Batman, but now they've scrapped the Squad game to focus on the Damian Wayne one. It's apparently gonna be a sort of Batman Beyond situation (ten years in the future, Damian's Batman, and an elderly Bruce will be mentoring him) with stuff like the Batcycle, an upgradable Batcave, more obscure villains and "future" versions of classic ones. I think it sounds like more of the same (assuming it's true) and that we'd be better off focusing on new characters instead of just milking Batman even further, but that's just me.

Yo Momma The Lego superhero games are pretty good, The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction is pretty good, and deadpool is a fun game to play if you're just looking for mindless action. I also heard telltale is making a few marvel games, and i know for a fact one of them is Gaurdians of the Galaxy. Hopefully the new spider man ps4 game is good, and whatever warner bros montreal is working on.
I played a little of the Wonderful 101 for Wii U. That seemed like a fun game, though not perfect. It's also not licensed I think. ;)

Zoom and Professor Zoom are separate characters. The former is the one featured here, named Hunter Zolomon, while Professor Zoom's alter ego is Eobard Thawne.

The TV show separated them further because they thought it would be confusing. And then they merged Hunter with Earth-3!Johnny Quick, the black Flash, and the Anti-monitor because ... Reasons, I'm assuming.

And this is why, prior to WB games being formed, and Eidos being bought by Square, all comic book games should have just been published by Eidos.
I mean, Arkham Asylum was out in 2009, it was a huge hit. Why not just hand over other DC licenses to them? I actually hope WB looks into making a Flash game in the future. Maybe revive this for the PS4, XB1, and the Switch.
Oddly enough, the combat in this looks like what the combat in Sonic Boom Rise of Lyric should have been.
if WBIE decide to make a The Flash game in the future, they should copy the run, jump, and glide mechanics from Volition's Saints Row IV, that is a perfect mechanic for The Flash

Oszy oh yeah, the first time i play Saints Row IV, i realize the style and animation is very similar with Radical's Prototype. But the control is quite confusing in my opinion.

Man, I'd have loved to play this. Flash is becoming a small favourite of mine and there hasn't been a game that captures the feeling of being a speedster quite right as yet. Prototype and DC Universe Online come close but don't quite scratch the itch.

I am so depressed right now because I just finished watching this video about a cancelled Flash game for the xbox 360 and right before I saw the cancelled Superman and Justice League video games for the 360
Some ideas I have for a flash video game would be having several gears of speed but also gears of perception the higher up your perception was the slower the world around you would become and your speed would level out to. This could keep the flash comic accurate as well as letting players find there own personal speed since, also I think it could be cool if by the time you unlock top speed by the end of the game if you turn your perception all the way up it would still be nearly uncontrollable. Second idea would be to have fuel system just to balance the game at least a little bit, it would allow over powered abilities like phasing to be possible while not making the game piss easy. Final idea is for enemies, I would give them extremely fast guns that shoot out waves that disable certain levels of speed.

The main character was Wally but Barry and Jay would appear.
Wally was the protagonist. Jay appeared in the story via the Cadmus storyline. Barry had no place in the story, but was playable in multiplayer.
The increasing mass as opposed to vibrating through things is consistent with the comics, as Wally always had trouble phasing through things and tended to make them explode on accident, and he was the one to invent the Infinite Mass Punch.
This game sounds like it was almost finished. I wonder if they'd ever re-visit it. I would seriously buy it.

Closest thing that I would compare this game to would be the Spider-man 3 game released by Activision. The main game had Spider-man swinging around New York. The main plot followed the movie's plotline, but also had an array of sidequests, built around taking down four gangs across the city, and some classic Spidey Villains with them; The Apocalypse Tribe, The Dragon Tails (and subsequently the Lizard and Kraven), The Waste Tribe (along with Morbius and Shriek) and The H-Bombers (and Luke Carlyle), some of which would weave into the main story.

It's a shame we never got this game. There was some solid ideas here as far as the fighting mechanic and traversing the city. Flash is kinda like Spider-Man in that way he's got a very iconic power set and a distinct way of moving so if your making a game about him you better make it open world and make the powers fun to use
