That first dev update is HUGE. I can almost guarantee it'll be used for predatory marketing strategies, like tracking how quickly players progress through levels and figuring out the best point to flood them with gamepass buttons to maximize profits before they leave lol. But on the flip side, it could also let devs set up events that trigger when a player loses on a certain level at a certain time or position. That way, they can actually balance their game based on real analytics instead of relying on random messages/feedback.
