    Today I've tried something completely new. Just me on the table without any talking or fancy animations. I think it can be helpful to see at what I am looking and how I am preparing my shots. Let me know what you think and if you want to see more of this!

      surprised you didnt play for the 8 in the corner...i had an idea. not sure if ill explain it right. but with go pro and center cue hit, show what a center ball, half, quarter, 3/4 ths hit etc would look like. maybe add english as well

    Seeing the POV is very useful, but I’d love to have another version of the same video where you talk about what you are looking at with each shot, where you are trying to get the cue ball to be after the shot you’re on, and how far ahead you’re planning. Maybe not a spoken track, maybe closed captioning that we can choose to turn on or not.

    • @shubinternet
      @shubinternet 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I will add that you make it easy for us to see what the current shot is that you’re planning on taking, albeit perhaps not what kind of English you might be shooting. What I still find hard to figure out is where you’re planning on having the cue ball end up after your current shot so that you are properly aligned on your next shot - and how far ahead you’ve planned. Did you really start at the eight ball and work your way all the way back to the first shot you have to take?

    What's the reason you didn't rack the balls correctly for 8 ball? After I rack, a few better players notice I rack the balls with correct placement. It's not that difficult.

    • @Sharivari
      @Sharivari  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's racked correctly.
      The 8 ball must be in the center of the rack (the second ball in the three balls wide row).
      The first ball must be placed at the apex position (front of the rack and so the center of that ball is directly over the table's foot spot).
      The two corner balls must be a stripe and a solid.
      All balls other than the 8 ball are placed at random, but in conformance with the preceding corner ball rule.

    • @averyhorton3614
      @averyhorton3614 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Sharivari In a truly proper rack, there is only 1 instance of a solid next to a solid and a stripe next to a stripe. From front to back: 1 XO O8X XOXO OXXOX where O is solid, X is stripe, 1 is 1 ball, 8 is 8 ball. This is the fairest way to rack. The way you racked was not in this configuration. I realize different leagues, different rules.

    • @Sharivari
      @Sharivari  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The rules I mentioned are the World standardized rules of the World Pool-Billiard association.

    • @chrisross33
      @chrisross33 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@averyhorton3614 Sharivari's racking process also conforms to BCA (Billiards Congress of America) and APA (American Pool Association) rules in the United States. In general the top ball must be a solid, the two lower balls opposites with the 8-ball in the center. Any other ordering of balls in between these four stated balls is up to the racker's preference. If a person racks their own and they hit from one side or the other, like Sharivari may, then they might prefer a greater distribution of stripes or solids on one side or the other. When racking for your opponent most people however usually want to distribute them as you describe to try and prevent a lopsided pocketing of either stripes or solids for when the opponent breaks. One thing that some shifty players (LOL) might do if racking for an opponent is to use the solid ball at the top that matches the color of the felt cloth. So if a green cloth, then a green head ball, or if a red cloth, then a red ball at the top of the rack. The thinking then that this can make it more difficult for the breaker to hit the head ball as precisely as if contrasting colors were used (eg yellow ball against green cloth). This would only work for bar rules is my understanding however. And before a person breaks they can tell the racker to change the head ball or offer to do it yourself if this "trick" were ever to be played on you.
