Hello. ### News Flash*** I had another convo with Joseph today - 9/21. The website has been upgraded and they are now ready to hear from those that wish to acquire a 500i cover assembly. At the request of Mr. Max-Flow, I "hit the pause button" on this video while he worked a few kinks out of his process. I am thankful at the great response viewers of this video gave Joseph and his wife. The description contains the Max-Flow contact info. I would suggest a preorder. Because it's not about get 'em while they are hot. It's more about get 'em before they are all gone... And a special thanks to my buddy Dave in Ireland. Without his generosity, it would have been another 8 or 10 months until we were at this stage in the 500i filter system's development. Thanks for watching.
Thanks for a very detailed and descriptive video. I have been running Max Flows on saws for years and I couldn’t be happier. The experience included two years cutting burned timber.
Great video! I like max flow personally. I've had a few of his filters And currently trying to get new filter for my dolmar ps7310 Well worth the price also ..he sheer time and effort he puts into his work...you can clearly see and tell that he's a actual saw guy...not a pencil pusher trying to sell saw products
We got a 500i for work I really like the chain speed on it and how light it is. We have a few problems with it because we run our saw hard in trees and brush. Lately we have been running it in the brush a lot and it bogs out sometimes witch is weird. We got the west coast saw kit. The suspension helped little bit. The Bark box made it much louder. But haven’t noticed a real difference. I’ve heard people say that the “bark box makes it come alive” but, I haven’t noticed it. I’m trying to figure how to fix the bog problem and I’m stumped, any ideas what I can do to fix it? Really like your videos man. Keep them coming!
You should try putting the oem muffler casing back on. There is testing that disputes that the cover you mention helps the saw run better. The gold colored fuel filter needs to be changed about 4x more often than the older white ones. Would not take much debris to put a monkey wrench in a 500i fuel delivery system. Could be a problem with the A I. that 500i uses. It's far more complicated than the previous systems. Sounds Ike a trip to the shop for a plug in session might be prudent. Best of luck. Thanks for watching.
HI HOTSAW 101 that cover is assume I will get me one !!! . I hope MaxFlow makes a air cleaner for the 362 , 400 , 462 they are a assume product ? . Food for thought you made a comment about the 661 would not run to good at high altitude that is true the reason why i am mentioned it I bought a ms 400 i got it home and calibrate the saw and put it to work the next day when I started it up I let it run a minute to let it warm up I stuck it a oak with a 24 inch bar it ran erratic just for a 30 or 40 second and quit and ran normal after that that thing is a beast it done it a couple of times from cold so I took it back to the dealer he noticed it was doing the same thing after donning some diagnosis on it ever time he ran it from cold to operating temp it started run normal after 195 degrees he hooked the laptop back up to the saw he found a setting it was a altitude setting it was set on sea level he changed it to 3200 foot above sea level that fixed the erratic running and it feels more stronger than ever see I live about 2800feet above sea level that may be what was wrong with that 661 so that tells me that the module has a altitude setting have good and blessed day!!!!!
I'm noticing a lot of pass by on both saws at the bottom of the filter near the handle. Whats up with that? doesnt' seem like it should be possible with how well it presses on the seal ring top and bottom.
FiddesModsTV hi. The reason for the Max-Flow system - the stock HD2 lets particulates pass. This is because the rubber lip on the inside of it does not seal as tightly as it should. The Maxy does not have the same issues - which is why West Coast faller buy the up like hotcakes. Thanks for watching.
Karl hi. In the "Contact Us" section is a way to email them. That would be my suggestion. Little bit of an update. I've been in contact with Joseph. He's hopeful that Friday the "Pre-order" option will be available for prospective customers. Thanks for watching.
@@hotsaws101 yes sir but I like the way the max flow cover fits on to the 661. In my opinion I think the 661 max flow looks way better than the old style big blocky max flow covers. It would be cool if he made one to fit the 461 like the 661. Keep up with the videos man. I started watching them years ago!
It would cost an exorbitant amount of greenbacks to "redo" the older cover. Given current, worldwide covid catastrophe, it would also take an exorbitant amount of time before we would see the finished product. The 461 is in a "near death" state at the end its availability. So prudence says "hold 'em" Thanks for watching.
Maxflo, you should allow shops to buy direct and not require a stihl dealership. Especially since stihl has no love for your products. I hate that they won’t support the little guys that actually recommend their products! #maxflowfilter
I’d also like to see a plate offered with the molded in lock for a factory knob! Give use the ability to run NO COVER....the way they should be run! Please Joseph...a plate to allow cover delete on the 661 and the 500i would be appealing and appreciated. Cool for getting this suss’d and for a fantastic aesthetic! The functionality is always phenomenal!
I really am a Stihl fan they have a great oiler system they got hardly any vibration thru the handel bar I love that the caddy of saws I don't run a full wrap looks like more weight an be in the way limbing
Anyone who has used one can see it does not take long for the max flow to get clogged up pretty good with particulates, all this stresses the and put a lit of unnecessary stress on the engine. Unless you clean the max flow every hour.
I'm thinking that you have never run a saw with an HD2 in a fresh burn. An hour tops. The Hole-Shot (Max-Flow) will make it for a day. The HD2 won't make it for a faller's day in a lot of West Coast strips. Well, and not be clogged up while letting particulates pass. The Hole-Shot will keep the engine clean all the while lasting for up to 2½ days. The Hole-Shot has a way higher air flow capabilities as tested on a flow bench. Listed on the back of the packaging in case your are interested in educating yourself. It is partially because the surface area on of the Hole-Shot is far higher than the HD2. This mean that after an hour or two in a dusty condition the HD2 is starting to get clogged (read stressing the engine) whereas, the Hole-Shot has an hour, two, three... left before the element gets restricted enough to even be at the low flow level of the HD2 in brand new condition. So, the Maxy doesn't get clogged quickly or easily which is the antithesis of stressing the engine. Reduction & stressing is what you get from using the stock system. "Gotta use 'em in order to understand that part". Thanks for watching.
T T hi. Impossible on the these in stock form as far as I can tell. Everyone is going to the primer bulb because they help with the hot start on the strato saws. And,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, the Focus is not on the falling industry in the PNW. Thanks for watching.
I need one more than ever. Canadian Stihl only gave me three months warranty on my new MS661 I bought for private use. I screen shot their new rules, anything bigger than an ms362 no home owner warranty available. So I quickly ordered the max-flo. Also those single handed tree saws no home warranty.
Jack101 usually apologizes before his videos about his stammering, mumbling and repeating himself. I reckon he completely forgot this time. Good to have you on the board. 🇨🇦🇺🇸
As an orator in this particular genre, Mr. Jack has a broad and fluent vocabulary as in the Cobus C thread in this video. I often find myself reaching for the dictionary, thesaurus and resorting to Google. Often times repetition is used for emphasis. Surely there is enough grace among us to overlook a bobble here and there...

Any place to get them in the uk 🇬🇧?
Thomas hi.
Not yet I'm afraid. They are not even available in Mr. Max-Flow's backyard as of now.

Looks like a husquvarna filter 😂😂😂😂😂😂 that’s why it works so well……I need one ….sign me up
What’s up with that 7310 you have been messing with? Been waiting to see what it will do after you did your tricks
Absolutely busting to find out what you did/doing to it! Please advise:)

thank you for the review sir, looking forward to seeing how it works for you.
Super nice. Great job. Don't have a 500i yet, but this would be a must.
Sucks when you spend $1400 on a saw and have to buy an after market filter and cover! Come on Stihl!
Lots people are switching out the intake to adapt for the uni green weenie filter for huskys also.
Very nice set up
Looks like a nice job! If I ran a 500 i would get one. Interesting thank you.

u the god of chainsaws bud what a great setup
Looks good Jack !
Thanks Dave. Without your generosity, this process would be another 8 or so months out.
And, thanks for watching!
the very least I could do for a pal and fine guy to deal with as you are !
I run Max Air flows on my saws it's a great system
people just need to understand it takes time and money to make prototypes
Will he update his website for a preorder?

I wish they would make a cover and filter for the 461 like they did for the 661.
Cobus hi.
Ms460 Max-Flow assembly "bolts" right on a 461 with an infinitesimal small amount of over lap.
Thanks for watching.

TT hi. They do sell direct to the "average Joe". www.maxflowfilters.com/
A 661 filter will stuff the 500i and the factory cover will fit....I love the black!
T T hi. The 500i on the right has a modded 661 rain cover from a 661 on it. A bit of a pain to get it there though.
Thanks for watching.
I called them august 2020 immediately after I bought a 500

Smarter than a monkey. HAHAHAHAHA
Get to the point dude!
If you can even get a 500i then you shouldn’t speak on it at all!
quit mumbling man ... repeating yourself .... apart from that good video... keep em coming
