I'm still trying to get into the habit of drawing in my sketchbook on a daily basis. Often times I find myself drawing something on a sheet of paper and then I'm like, oh, that came out not so bad. I should've drawn it in my sketchbook. Darn! :)
Yes, you have style. You caught the characteristics or spirits of a subject pretty accurately. I saw some artists are good at drawing techniques. But they are lack of such talent to catch the spirit of an subject.
You do nice sketches. I keep a journal when I travel and can’t be in my gallery painting , mostly it’s been water color pencils , and using water to blend everything , it does record a lot of history , the one I keep now is of my trips to Reno , when I travel to my sons college in Reno, most people would think they are terrible sketches lol but my point is to collect the essence of my trips , which works for me. It definitely records the experience. Otherwise , I mostly paint from the inside , so far , not much life drawings , I would love to but time is of the essence. Anyway , I think sketch books are great , always have one with me when I travel. PS Hugs and kisses for making these very nice videos !
I'm new to drawing i got my first sketch book a month ago and till now it's all crappy draws and sketches I'm 17 now and my dream is to draw like a pro any suggestions/advices?
I know this sounds like a dumb question but when you sketch are you looking at a ref photo? Like for instance here with this highland cow? I get so bored sketching stuff in my house....
Oh yeah for sure, with all these animal drawings - I use reference photos. Maybe I should do a video on using references etc. I think a mixture of both, drawing from life and using references is the way to go :)
SchaeferArt That would be really helpful. I find drawing from life the most challenging. Not so much a single object like for instance a shoe but an interior...furniture...it always looks wonky. Maybe you’ve done a vid on this (?) but a really clear lesson on sighting multiple objects such as a still life grouping - where one has to visualize dimensions of not only each object but each object in regards to all the others. I find that very tricky.

Haha yeah I know what you mean :) Just gotta be okay with the good and the bad being in the same place. Thanks for all the support!

Practice, patience, determination, learn from your mistakes. Keep going. Have fun!
I know it's late for me to paint or draw but that very motivating for me to draw more often, good night SchaeferArt 😇🌌🌃😴
