    But now I know it for sure because this video got me all excited beyond what's normal and I AM GONNA BUILD THIS TOO.

    Since the 80's I've wanted to build a dual axis tracker but using bi-metal springs beneath magnifying lenses, allowing the Sun's heat on any spring to pull the tracker back inline keeping it centered on the Sun without electricity, motors, etc.

    A complex for tracking the sun based on the calculation of the data received from the GPS receiver. This system consists of a basic module SOLARSAN-GPS that can work independently and SOLARSAN-SLAVE working only as an executive device. Using SOLARSAN-GPS, you can target solar concentrators, collectors or panels at right angles to sunlight. Control is carried out with the help of actuators or rotary actuators in two planes and has an accuracy of one degree. The module has an input to connect an "anemometer" to protect against strong wind, the input of the "hail and snow sensor" and the input of the "photo sensor" for the sleep mode with low solar activity. Built-in WiFi module allows you to configure the tracker through the WEB page over a local network or through an access point. The built-in MQTT broker allows you to manage and receive data via the Internet network around the world. Power supply from 12V to 30V (and version HV with power from 12V to 55V). Protection by current. Short circuit protection. Built-in radio modem 433.92 (315.00) MHz with a capacity of 100 mW for data transmission in a radius of up to 100 meters to the SOLARSAN-SLAVE modules. Works both in one and two axes. The IP66 enclosure allows you to install a solar tracker under the open sky.

    Avoids soldering to lower the barrier for entry into project, laser cuts all wood using tools much harder for the home DIYer to get their hands on than a soldering iron.

    hai. i followed it step by step. but, i have a problem.
    my motor servo doesn't move like the video. it is not tracking the light. maybe the voltage is low. i using external power supply for the motors. and still not tracking the light. what should i do? may the motors is wrong? or the coding? thank you

    Just wondering, how much power will you get out of this setup on a really bright and sunny day? Would it be much more effective to just align a single axis solar panel to a known coordinate system? Really appreciate the help guys

    Can you use the solar cell's output as orientation data? Like pan left-right until the maximum output is found, then pitch up-down until maximum is found again, if voltage drops more than like 10%, rescan.

      No. If its scanning and a cloud moves in front of the sun, it will be confused.

    Cool Project. Very tidy design and simple explanation. Would one be able to use this model to control bigger panels, to listen basically what it does and to follow it? if so how?

    Since it is a solar panel, is it possible to attach alight to the solar panel so when it detects the light the light bulb will turn on.

  • @satiromedeiros6876

    Friend, it turns completely to the other side? I say the sensor side? It rotates 360 degrees horizontally, it is clear in the video, but it rotates 180 degrees vertically?

  • @markhaus

    Are the joints/servos stable when no power is applied? This might not add very much energy gathering capability over a static, south facing panel if the panels have to constantly power the servos.

    • @BrownDogGadgets

      It should work great in the sun, but you may be getting so much light that it will take time to see it move since the sun moves very slowly.

    Hi,
    The sensors are placed on the top and are separated by shadowing surfaces? I mean...you don't have LDR's on your panel, right? All fours are situated in that yellow package from the north, right? If you focalise the light on your panel, it shouldn't move, correct? I'm asking this because I have to implement such kind of 2 axis solar tracker and I don't know where should I place the four LDR's :) and I read they will have to be separated by some opacque surface and I don't get the deal very well...maybe there's someone that can enlighten me..thanks in advance!

    Hi trying to build this project, kinda new to Arduino, trying to trouble shoot
    1 servo motor which is buzzing / chatter, I did swap servo plugs around from 9 to 10 and 10 to 9, chatter happens only on 9, don't know if something in code needs to be fixed or it's interference. what do you mean by removing 2 screws as I get the chatter with out the structure.
    my servos say they are analog not digital as I understand digital chatter alot

    • @henryfitzthum7563
      @henryfitzthum7563 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I am not 100% sure but I think the chatter is due to the motor not having enough torque / power.
      Can someone help me here as I'm not sure weather it's motors or script, I have made this, it kinda works
      need someone to help me understand this script to limit the degrees of tilt / shift / movement.
      I assume it's these lines
      int servoh = 90; // 90; // stand horizontal servo
      int servohLimitHigh = 180;
      int servohLimitLow = 65;
      // 65 degrees MAX
      Servo vertical; // vertical servo
      int servov = 90; // 90; // stand vertical servo
      int servovLimitHigh = 120;
      int servovLimitLow = 15;

    • @suzymyoko2695
      @suzymyoko2695 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      tol (tolerance) is 50
      dhoriz (horizontal difference) is difference between avl (average value left) and avr (average value right)
      dhoriz can be either negative or positive so the tolerance should be set on both sides.. ok?
      so if dhoriz is lower than negative tolerance OR higher than positive... do something with that axis, else keep on looping
      nice and simple piece of code...
