    I LOVE this bike. I purchased mine in 2019, which is the 2018 model and put 900 mile on it in the 1st year.Mine has fenders and bought a rack in case i need it. Was thinking of doing some bike touring with some Ortlieb Panniers.This one here being shown is the 2020 model that just came out a month or 2 ago.YOU WILL be getting ALOT of questions about the bike when taking it out : ). I like to drop the seat as low as it goes if i plan on using mainly throttle to give it that feel and look of a motorbike and raise it if i'm going on a long distance ride so i can peddle more to save battery life. I also have handle bars more at an angle lets say 2 o'clock to give it that that look and feel as well, this one being shown is at 3 o'clock..Yes it could use a front suspension but i think they did without to save weight or to give you a spot to mount a water bottle and FYI this is a big boy, its bout the length of a real motorbike so take that in account. I would make sure to protect it i got an Abus U-lock for the frame and a folding lock to put around my rear tire and a bike alarm : ) . I have yet to see an E-bike as cool as this one frame wise. I love the vintage look and i"m only 40.

    • @seanmcaleavy2369
      @seanmcaleavy2369 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I got mine two years ago and the first thing I did was saw off the seat post receptacle on the frame to lower the seat as low as it could go. I think it was around two inches that I cut off. Then I put some 16-inch apehangers on it. I had to splice and solder some extension wire to the throttle so it would reach the plug. I then put some white walls on it and I built a cool vintage-looking sidecar for my oldest dog. My two other dogs run alongside us. I see those ultra high-priced e-bikes that are going for the vintage look and it's nice to know that even though my bike looks way cooler, it was way cheaper. I bought it directly from the factory in china for $875.

    • @wikedt111able
      @wikedt111able 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've always thought about doing that seat post thing like you did. Taking off 2 inches. Also thought about the side car thing when I first got my bike so I can bring a dog with me but I wouldn't know how to make one.

    • @seanmcaleavy2369
      @seanmcaleavy2369 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@wikedt111able If you do lower the seat, make a little 3/4" slice that runs down from where you made the cut so the quick release for the seat post will still function. I wish I would have made a video of the sidecar build. There have been quite a few people who wanted to build one after seeing it. It wasn't overly difficult but it would have been easy to explain if I would have filmed the different processes. Before I started it I couldn't find any videos for a sidecar build that looked anything close to what I wanted mine to look like. Mostly, people have just made a basic platform with sides. They just look like a rolling box. Mine looks more like a vintage rocket with fins at the rear. I have been toying with the idea of painting a sharks mouth on the front like the old Flying Tiger fighter planes.

    This bike is super cool! You should carry one like this. I do note the lack of a suspension fork in the front but it is SO cool looking I'm considering buying one in spite of that feature not being present!

    I do like the style of it. I had a moped at 16 in the mid 80's it does remind me a little of it. Add front shocks, a rear rack that you can place a second battery on with a tail light!

    Absolutely. For an older gentleman such as myself who has been a life long motorcyclist for over 45 years, this would be a perfect addition to my garage of E-Bikes. Go ahead. I think you can sell a container of these.

    I have a Cheetah and it's absolutely marvelous. I'm 72 years old and handicapped. I take my Springer spaniels out to the fields and run them. They love it and I do too. FYI front suspension would be the best option. Ride safe, pdl

    To extend the battery, you could also get a cargo rack over the front tire and hang a pair of batteries from it, wiring them back to the on-board battery.

    I have had a Cheetah for over two years and it is my daily transportation. I modified it a bit by cutting the seat tube down as low as I could and still have the clamp work (about two inches}. I put on a rear rack so I could attach my saddlebags. And I put 13" ape hanger handlebars on it along with whitewall tires. Every two or three months I re-upholster the "gas tank" with one of my no longer wearable psychedelic shirts. I have also made a really cool vintage looking sidecar for it that my oldest dog sits in while the other two dogs trot along next to us. All in all, it's an eyecatcher and I receive between ten to thirty compliments on it each and every day. These bikes go for around $2,500 in Southern California but I got mine direct from the factory in China for $875. I live on an island 26 miles off the coast of California that is mostly steep hills and this bike has held up surprisingly well.

    Hello, I actually have this bike It is set up a bit differently, Shimano Altus shifter and it's black and white with brown handles and seat. I'm from Europe and we have no dealer ( one actually, in Spain who does not respond and seems to be dead ) in the entire EU who has this bike. I actually had to buy It straight from the factory as a sample, which was no problem, since their customer support and sales lady is a treat to deal with. So polite, dependable and capable.
    I really recommend swapping the rigid front fork so you can enjoy this bike even on bumpy cross-country roads. I actually have two setups one for the city with road tires, a bit narrower front wheel and my custom springer fork. And another, which I'm personally really proud of, for mountains and bumpy roads - I really love the look of the offset double crown fork on this bike and I had a real hard time of finding a suitable fork like this for fat 26 tires. I ended up with used downhill fork with air pistons, I swapped those pistons for the default rigid ones (wasn't as easy as I made it sound) and it worked a charm. The good idea is to line plastic battery covers with some insulating tape, it tends to make unpleasant noises on rougher terrain otherwise.

    I bought one a more than a month ago and I love it. It's an excellent ride. It's all up and down where I am and the power doesn't fail me. Also the style beats other ebiks by a mile. You'll probably get lots of comments and questions when you go out. People really like the retro-styling just as I did. I want to say DON'T carry so it stays rare,. However, you really should carry this ebike for its quality and looks.

    I’ve owned this ebike since March 2021.
    It is great fun to ride. The retro motorcycle look has gotten me much attention from strangers. After three years of Spring to Fall Minnesota use, the life of the higher powered battery has dropped in its longevity. Using throttle only, my mileage range is around 20 miles per charge, where it started out near 30 in 2021.
    Assembly of the bike out of the box
    was not too bad. Had to completely deflate the back drive tire and buy a special needle nose vice grip tool to painstakingly put the rear fender on. That was much needed since wet dirt will spray on back your shirt. Wish there was suspension shocks on the front wheel. Seat and fat tire is ok but not the smoothest ride. One reason I wanted this design of bike was the wide handle bars which help ease up the tingling in my fingers for longer half hour rides. But beware your turning radius is compromised because of that. The thumb bell sounds like an old ice cream truck. That’s fine for politely warning people on nature trails because the bike can look intimidating to them.
    The saddle bags are nice for grocery shopping but are a slight pain putting on and off if you don’t want them all the time. I like keeping the bike looking good so I use disposable hands wipes. No water hose where the drive chain or motor could rust. That means time consuming meticulous care, so ya gotta love this machine like a relic sports car.
    I take the battery out and store it room temperature for winter months.
    Oh, I’ve had revamp it a little. A local bike shop adjusted the back brakes because they were only partially engaging ( maybe 40% ) of the disc.
    The factory set screw stripped on the throttle switch so I drilled a slightly bigger hole to implement a bigger holding screw. That’s worked pretty well now for two years.
    Hopes this helps to give you a more real idea what it’s like to have this bike.
    It’s been great fun and I still love it but if I were to buy again, I would get a similar designed bike that looks as good but definitely has a front wheel suspension shock absorber.

    I think you should include the bike, in your inventory.
    Saw one similar but was like $3500 to $4500, I can get a used motorcycle at this price.
    Have had several motorcycles over the years, but retired now.
    I do like the old bike / motorcycle cruiser style.
    The things I would recommend:
    1) fenders front and back that have reflective Pin Striping
    2) tail light, integrated like motorcycles (left, right, brake 3-5 flashes)
    3) beefed up railing on the rear to accommodate old style saddledbags, color to match the tank.
    The railing could be used for, I could build and secure a cargo box for that grocery store run.
    4) Most importantly an electronic air horn to be heard, not that standard (stupid) "ding".
    At the minimum a wiring harness for accessories.

    You know they say that "Cheetah's never prosper", but I like it. I really like fat tire bikes and I like ebikes that look like vintage motorcycles, however, I'm not a big fan of hub drives, though I bought two hub drive wheels when I first started my ebike build, after reading review after review about the pros and cons of hub drive versus mid drive motors, I decided that hub drive motors, just had too many cons for my taste. It probably doesn't matter unless you're climbing some pretty vertical bike trails, but I want the power to do that, should I ever want to. But I digress, I really like this style of ebike as long as the fat tires aren't slick, I like aggressive tread on my bike tires.

    Loved where the battery is stored which makes the "looks" of the bike very clean. Unfortunately that is also a concern if the battery needs replacing as the battery form factor is custom made for this bike.
