Lindsey keeps opening up and bares his soul to her. Sadly, Stevie, is just acting. He has written probably 50 songs which are direct love massages to her. The entire world knows it. He used to sing them to her every night on stage back in the day. She is a performer-so she plays the part on stage. The show ends, and for her it’s like it never happened, except when Lindsay was with someone else. Then the roles reversed. She is just never going to love him back in the same way he loves her. He must look at her and she represents the best of times and the worst of times. Fleetwood wanted Lindsey, but he said he would come only if Stevie could come. Then, years later Fleetwood fires him and keeps her.

Just a guitar and two voices fill the aching void between two lovers lost in brilliant musical symphonies and each other. The picking sequence is extremely difficult and he sings while playing the insanely difficult sequence. This piece is so perfect for harmony, intricate guitaring and the emotion between two beautiful singers and people. This song translates into their passion for each other and yet accepts the power of their lost love.
In this age of reality tv, it's so nice to see an honest expression of emotion between two people. The song is also beautiful. Add the music to their personal story and its magic.
I agree..and she would not be still angry if she didnt still love him so much! Their heart aches for each other..that is obvious but its just not meant to be 😢
Given their past together, I don't know how they were able to sing this without falling apart. Their love is so deep and yet volatile; they spent 1/2 a lifetime trying to get it right. For anyone who's ever experienced a love this intense, every word of this song feels like a thorn you burrowing deeper & deeper in your heart. 😢

Just because he's married doesn't mean that Stevie isn't the love of his life.... And you dont know what your taking about because he got divorced from his wife...or they are separated.....Stevie and Lindsey will always have an endless love story..
So two people who haven't been in a relationship in nearly 50 years should get back together because Total Strangers choose to attach themselves to their drama?? To quote the great William Shatner, GET A LIFE!!
These two have an insane chemistry and deep love that transcends other relationships or even the band. They are a true tale that love doesn't concur all and just because you love someone doesn't mean you should or can be with them.
I love these two together. Fleetwood Mac just isn't complete without either of these two. No matter how much talent you bring into The Mac it'll never have that chemistry that we all see with Stevie & Lindsey. The love they share is timeless & I believe that no matter how much they argue & fight that their love will forever be apparent & without the two of them FM wouldn't be much of anything. Stevie & Lindsey are showing right here that they don't need FM but FM definitely needs them.
This is love, on a level that most cannot understand. I, too, was lucky enough to have had a love like that, but it also was unsustainable. Sometimes the fire burns so bright that it consumes the lovers and they cannot continue that way. I am so grateful to have known that though.
The heartfelt love and feeling that both of them show in their eyes is so beautiful. Yes,they’ve moved on with others since they were together, but they were together for years, drugs and drink along with professional pressures/differences caused them to part ways, but I don’t think they ever stopped loving each other, just in a different way than the young passionate way when together. It’s a deep appreciative respectful love of one another that lasts until their last breaths love they have, and it’ll always be between them. What we can CLEARLY see exchanging between them here is real, deep and genuine. Lindsay is married with family now, and his wife doesn’t need to worry,b’cos it’s a different love from a different time period, she has his heart now, but he’ll always have a soft spot in his heart for Stevie, just as I have for my first husband,my kids father, first love…he’ll always have a special place in my heart, but I loved others since and it happens. The love between Stevie and Lindsay observed here,is a lifetime love 😉🧙🏼♀️🖤
This was so special. Lindsey still loved her and she still loved him. True love never withers. Can’t escape it . Timeless music that was made by love. A thousand years from now, this song will still be moving hearts.
We need to see them together on stage again. Christine's passing away was a reminder that they are getting on in years. It can't end the way that it did.
You can see how much they still love each other despite all the challenges they have been through. Not many can say they have loved so deeply and passionately for all those years.
There's so much love and passion between the two even though it didn't work out as a couple. You can tell in this performance and others that there's a deep connection there that will never leave. Perhaps in a different life it will work out for them.
This is just one of the most emotional , superbly played on guitar songs with harmonies to match that I have ever heard. Stevie Nicks is good but Lindsey B is just awesome and yes its a live performance !!! wow !
A strange thought came to me listening to this song for the first time. It's not Andre Bocelli or Pavarotti delivering it but the song had the same intensity, delicacy, and power. I had an inkling of Lindsey's guitar skills from Landslide but this song exposed his mastery of nuance and drama through the guitar. Stevie's role was harmony but essential, and Lindsey's vocals were pure. This "technical" take on the song may have given a back seat to the personal lives that created it, but no, the song may not have been possible without the real emotions of the Lindsey and Stevie. This is a musical gem.
Every time I see them together I realize how fortunate and blessed I feel to have married and spent my life with my soul mate and one true love. Having said that, these 2 wrote some amazing songs about their unsuccessful romance. This song, Storms and Silver Springs by Stevie, Go Your Own Way, Second Hand News, on and on.
I don't think you can have Fleetwood Mac without any of Lindsey, Stevie or Christine - they all play an equally huge role in this band...funny how Fleetwood and Mac are more or less insignificant - LOL!
I couldn’t stand him, back in the day, he was so conceited and controlling then... seeing them in concert several times you could see his animosity towards her. She just got tired of his BS! She did love him and he her, she wrote so many great songs regarding their affair. but he was so used to her doing everything for him. When they got bigger he didn’t want her to let loose and be herself,
@@ramonaestrada601 You're talking about something that happened over 40 years ago. They were young fuelled on drugs and alcohol. I admire Lindsey he made FM what they are through his hard work and dedication. Lindsey left FM in 1987 to turn his life around, he had the sense to know that he couldn't carry on like he was. He came off drugs and is now teetotal, he has a loving wife and 3 beautiful children. Even Stevie said that "no man had ever loved her the way Lindsey did" She was no angel either, she knew how to push Lindseys buttons.
The secret in this song is emotion, very deep and sincere, Linsey has made excellent song and its his testimonial for their relationship. Thats why people has to understand, you cant make music without the essential truth and bricks of personal experience and expect it to be felt.....
@Ribnaa Hanaa Considering the fact that Lindsey found the love of his life in 1997, I don't think it's sad what happened 42 years ago. Lindsey has been happily married with Kristen for almost 20 years and they have three children. His wife and children love him, and HE loves them.
Darkness of the Night I understand what you’re saying and I know he’s been married for a very long time now, but he will always have something for stevie. When you feel so deeply for someone at a certain time , that will never go away. the emotions you felt will leave something the forever
I played this video to a friend of mine, he's a 70 year old ex Hells Angel. At the end of it he had tears in his eyes. He had obviously heard of Fleetwood Mac but never really got into them. Music for him began with Elvis and ended with AC/DC. So I had to explain about Stevie and Lindsey's history. He said "it stands out a mile he (Lindsey) still loves her."
My ex-wife will think I'm ridiculous (big surprise lol), but I think of this song when I think of her & how unhappy she was with me. Such sorrow, she was my 1st real love & we pushed each other away....
Comic Book Guy yeah pal know how you feel I was seeing a Gorgeous nurse head over heels in.love with her and still am but we pushed each other Away...its one of the hardest things in life to say Goodbye to someone you love 😭
I know, I still love my soulmate. But I don't think I could risk him hurting me again. My heart couldn't take it. I am married now to a wonderful man I love dearly and whom I know I can fully trust.
@Comic Book Guy This song really was so powerful to me. I had a love like this. Then I read of the abuse? I don’t know if that’s true or not but if it were it explains my own deep connection and strong emotional response to this song. It is possible to have been abused and still have to say goodbye and find it painful decades later. This performance breaks my heart and yet confirms once again why it had to end. I’m still crying.
I can so relate to this statement, my ex wife adored me and I let her down so badly with a bitch of a women I thought adored me to. I was so so wrong, but I have to live with it now. This song just fills me up, wonderful words wonderfully sung with a wonderful guitarist
They’ve known each other closely for the better part of a century. You can’t be that close and create art together and not have ridiculous chemistry like they do. ❤️💯

@110453159353382920162 Yes, other comments, I read lips just fine. We couldn't hear if but they both told one another that they love each other. Take another look at the video and watch closely at the end and you can see. I mean no ill intent towards you. I was just trying to help you see why chookfeather was referring to. :)
melondemondivine Sorry I never saw your question until now.I saw an interview with him solo and he said that he never really knew what the breaking point was for Stevie. He said "She didn't want to marry me, or have babies with me or be engaged to me or live with me anymore she just wanted out". He went on to say that she still wanted to work together and she trusted me with her songs, but I didn't understand if she trusted me with that why they had to end. He said he became very hurt and bitter by the "rejection". He also said that he had to leave the band to get over Stevie and the end of the relationship, because every other relationship he had after Stevie while he was still in the band was always doomed because Stevie was always there to colour his view. So he left the band, for creative and personal reasons and he wrote the song as a goodbye to Stevie, even though she'd said goodbye to him long ago he hadn't really said goodbye to her. THAT is why its emotional for both of them. I also saw a comment from someone at the taping and Lindsay was concerned all the way through the taping and re-recorded some of the songs. There was a joke between the two initially because Stevie said "how many times will you make us do this?" He smiled and said "we only need one take". So it explains what they were saying to each other in the end. "Was that okay for you?" he nodded and replied "beautiful, thank you, love you." she replied "thank you love you too"
chookfeather he mistreated her and thought she'd always just take it, that's what he means by "breaking point". Pretty sure neither of them were ready for kids but both say that they were as good as married as anyone could be. The mother of his children/wife got pregnant soon after they met and they married later on,she would get pregnant again- who knows if that would have been his plan.
In my perfect little world, Stevie and Lindsey are together again and love each other to death. I‘m waiting for this news and would totally celebrate it. ❤️ love wins
5:00 watch Stevie hone in on Lindsey's tears... the hug, his kiss, it is so nice they stayed best friends for decades, this is why they sound perfect together, always have, always will. Time shall not erase their love & friendship, which is true love, love which stands the test of time...
You could hear a pin drop Only two people in the room as far as Lindsey & Stevie are concerned… The deepest of love, strongest of memories and their soulful will pouring out to each other. We can only wish of such love for ourselves and those we hold dear 💜
It breaks my heart! During the song, she’s just singing. He is pouring his heart out singing this to her. At the end he kisses her, but there’s no emotion on her face. He truly loves her, and always will. 💔
I weep for Lindsey thinking of the heartache he had to go through during those turbulent early years when she betrayed him repeatedly, especially with a bandmate. The immense pain that he must have dealt with and yet kept working with her and Mick to make Rumours the success it was. All he ever wanted since he was 17 was Stevie and for them to be successful together, and be together. Although it meant great success for him, he didn't jump at the offer to join FM, not if Stevie couldn't also join. He was willing to give up that success for her. Mick said he knew Lindsey was serious about not joining if Stevie couldn't. And now, she does the opposite and insists he get kicked out of the very same band he got her into and was willing to give up for her. What a stab in the back. The ultimate betrayal. I sometimes wish he wouldn't still show this undying love for her, she's not worthy of it. The success got to her head and, well, that broke her life. Ultimately, it's not how much fame and fortune that counts, it's how rich you are in the heart and as a human being. Hers is a life unfulfilled, in my opinion. I don't wish her ill, To those that say she would have been a success anyhow. Remember they had the Buckingham Nicks album, which did not do well. She had that same voice, that same face. There are a gazillion people who are uber talented--have a powerful beautiful voice, who write beautiful songs, but don't have recognition. You need a lucky break, that moment when luck comes knocking--that was Lindsey who gave her that break. She seems to have forgotten. Arrogance is ugly on anyone.
I'm a performer/singer, and I finally came back to this version after a few days...all for an experiment. An experiment that I already knew the outcome of. The first time I listened to it... tonight...I did just that... listened. I thoroughly loved it. Beautiful music and singing...loved the harmonies. The second time, I watched the video as I listened. They're both fantastic performers, but I felt that both were singing from the heart...it felt real, and I cried through most of this song. The visual IS just as important as the audio... Together they form the complete package. Though they live in separate physical worlds, they exist together as one, even with all their baggage, in the world of love.
True Love Never Dies. And u can see it in Their Eyes... Love Fleetwood Mac. Thanx for all the beautiful memories. Everytime when one of their songs comes on. It takes u back to old times & u remember who you loved then. And forever in ur heart. Thank you!

So you face yesterday
Thinking on the days of old
And the price that we paid
For a love we couldn't hold
I let you slip away
There was nothing I could do
That was so long ago, yeah
Still I often think of you
I fall down, I get up
And I've always had to fight
Everything that was wrong
For the things that were right
Now I finally found my way
Now I know just what to do
Once you said goodbye to me, yeah
Now I say goodbye to you
It's so hard to find your way
When the lies come around
Still it happens everyday
So don't let it get you down
Just a time within a time
Just a scheme within a scheme
A little world within a world
Yes, a dream, just a dream
Now I finally found my way
Now I know just what to do
Once you said goodbye to me, yeah
Now I say goodbye to you
Now I best be on my way
Before the night turns blue
Once you said goodbye to me, yeah
And now I say goodbye to you
Once you said goodbye to me, yeah
Now I say goodbye to you
So beautiful. The people who talk about him as an abuser are just repeating gossip. They belong together!!
O
Such meaningful words.
I feel sad for his wife. Their continuing love story is no secret!! She filed for divorce finally. Maybe there is still hope for Stevie and Lindsey!!
So sad they both had to say goodbye to each other a long long time ago.
Sometimes the hurt will keep you apart, but, the true love never dies........❤❤
Just a guitar and two voices fill the aching void between two lovers lost in brilliant musical symphonies and each other. The picking sequence is extremely difficult and he sings while playing the insanely difficult sequence. This piece is so perfect for harmony, intricate guitaring and the emotion between two beautiful singers and people. This song translates into their passion for each other and yet accepts the power of their lost love.
Complete agree. These two helped create a fabulous period of music to have enjoyed and witnessed. What an ending...
In this age of reality tv, it's so nice to see an honest expression of emotion between two people. The song is also beautiful. Add the music to their personal story and its magic.
it is apparent they are still in love with other you can see it in their eyes. So heartbreaking they never stayed together. They made the group FM.
Yes they still live ea other while apart

I think inspite of being married he still loves her deeply
I agree..and she would not be still angry if she didnt still love him so much! Their heart aches for each other..that is obvious but its just not meant to be 😢

He's not married anymore.
It's easy to see that he does fall apart. She does not.
@@thelordismykeeper9856 There is a video of this song from an audience member at the MGM in Vegas and Stevie completely breaks down. You’d have to have a heart of stone not to feel what’s she’s going through in that moment.
So yes, while she has it together here, she has lost it at other times. 💔
I know it is crushing, at the same time even Stevie said recently that " it never goes away ".
Have you seen them seeing this in Las Vegas in 2014? She almost loses it it's here on TH-cam you should check it out.
I mean couldn't somebody get just a good top shelf bottle is silver? Have a few laughs, and then realize they should be together again?
Lindsay lives in Brentwood Stevie lives in Pacific Palisades they don't live that far apart.... We're talking a 15-minute drive.❤❤❤❤❤
@@thelordismykeeper9856 yes well fast forward to the Las Vegas version of this song in 2014 and she was extremely emotional... You can see the love it's just that she's a professional. I mean they both are but in this video she was collected in 2014 it's a totally different story
You guys are tripping, they fell out of love….this is only a performance..
He’s playing that guitar for her.
AntLux my thoughts exactly
That guitar is crying.
Yes' he definitely is
Yea but she made him play to a lotvof songs zbout how mu h if an ass he was
Clearly the voice of a heartbroken man
She is singing the first words to a song off of their first album Buckingham Nicks. On the album he actually starts the song off so she’s singing his part, but anyway it’s pretty cool. That whole album it’s amazing if you can find it. As for me, I’m going to watch this performance about 1 million times before I’m done LOL. So sweet and beautiful. Lindsay is an amazing Composer and guitarist.
The album Buckingham Nicks should be re-released. Whoever has the Masters put it out!!!
Man,Lindsey 's eye's tell the emotions he felt for her, probably still does.
Well Lindsey, you got a Navy SEAL to cry!! Boy, this hit the heart hard! But the masterful connection of these two souls that has survived for nearly 6 decades.....
I hope we all get that kind of love at least for 5 minutes.

They are getting a divorce
Regardless of anything else, they will always be soulmates in this life.Nothing else matters
They need a reunion. If not for themselves then for all those who have attached themselves to this relationship. What a glorious reunion it would be.
I think I heard Lydsey's band mates unanimously fired him. That kinda stinks. He's a fabulous guitar player.
So two people who haven't been in a relationship in nearly 50 years should get back together because Total Strangers choose to attach themselves to their drama?? To quote the great William Shatner, GET A LIFE!!
This is how Soulmates act in each other's presence True Real Deep Love Never goes Away
These two have an insane chemistry and deep love that transcends other relationships or even the band. They are a true tale that love doesn't concur all and just because you love someone doesn't mean you should or can be with them.
They were each other's first loves. They will always love each other.
This not love, is insane...
I Agree one hundred percent
This is love, on a level that most cannot understand. I, too, was lucky enough to have had a love like that, but it also was unsustainable. Sometimes the fire burns so bright that it consumes the lovers and they cannot continue that way. I am so grateful to have known that though.
The looks on their faces says it all, so much love n hurt. This was deep, I felt it!😭
@@Dawn-Songs you couldn't have explained that any better!😊🌻
You can only write a good song if you are feeling it in your heart and soul..
Amazing ! Guitar finger picking is unbelievable and to be able to sing that good while playing...... wow !
Wow well said Marcus, LB is phenomenal guitar player w/ a great singer voice. Plus he’s a handsome guy. He’s Blessed in those areas.
They have an extraordinary chemistry ... love them both.
This was so special. Lindsey still loved her and she still loved him. True love never withers. Can’t escape it . Timeless music that was made by love. A thousand years from now, this song will still be moving hearts.
Actually there was no love there…they felt out of love ages ago…this was only a performance! Wake up!
We need to see them together on stage again. Christine's passing away was a reminder that they are getting on in years. It can't end the way that it did.
Damn that man can play such complex shit and still sing so beautiful
You can see how much they still love each other despite all the challenges they have been through. Not many can say they have loved so deeply and passionately for all those years.
These two have a bond which will never be broken. Love like that never dies.
Their embrace at the end is beautiful, heartfelt, and haunting. A deep, bittersweet love for all to see.
Stevie Nicks is good but Lindsey B is just awesome and yes its a live performance !!! wow !
Brilliant what a guitarist and song writer his best i reckon!!!!
This is a love story that needs to be told... a screenplay.
Eh. I hate sad endings. lol
💕 Look at this guy pick that guitar !!! I'm in total AWE !!! He's one of the all-time best players in the world, and a creative genius !! 👏🏼👍🏼
So many years, it runs deep ,I know years go by and someday death will take place and oh my
you can see the love between them but also the hurt ...
So glad for your marriage!

agree. I wonder if Stevie thought they should have married? The whole kicking him from the band thing doesn't make sense to me.
I don't think you can have Fleetwood Mac without any of Lindsey, Stevie or Christine - they all play an equally huge role in this band...funny how Fleetwood and Mac are more or less insignificant - LOL!

The secret in this song is emotion, very deep and sincere, Linsey has made excellent song and its his testimonial for their relationship. Thats why people has to understand, you cant make music without the essential truth and bricks of personal experience and expect it to be felt.....
I feel that the fact that she held her hands behind her back says so much.

@Ribnaa Hanaa Considering the fact that Lindsey found the love of his life in 1997, I don't think it's sad what happened 42 years ago. Lindsey has been happily married with Kristen for almost 20 years and they have three children. His wife and children love him, and HE loves them.

I played this video to a friend of mine, he's a 70 year old ex Hells Angel. At the end of it he had tears in his eyes. He had obviously heard of Fleetwood Mac but never really got into them. This song really was so powerful to me.

"Was that okay for you?" he nodded and replied "beautiful, thank you, love you." she replied "thank you love you too"
chookfeather Thank you for the information on that :)
chookfeather he mistreated her and thought she'd always just take it, that's what he means by "breaking point". Pretty sure neither of them were ready for kids but both say that they were as good as married as anyone could be. The mother of his children/wife got pregnant soon after they met and they married later on,she would get pregnant again- who knows if that would have been his plan.
Christ they are so in love!!😢
He makes the guitar cry.
In my perfect little world, Stevie and Lindsey are together again and love each other to death.

It breaks my heart! During the song, she’s just singing. He is pouring his heart out singing this to her. At the end he kisses her, but there’s no emotion on her face. He truly loves her, and always will. 💔
Lmao 🤣 you need to stop with the fanfuction
Holy sh.., this is powerful!
Lindsey is such a great artist, I admire him!
Cry more
That was flawless!
Thank you!
Agreed… I’m a singer as well. That hit deep. I could almost feel the lump in her throat. Looked like she might cry at the end.
They will always love each other, you can see it in every song they sing together.
