I would also say that google doesnt care about whats on your resume during the interviews. So very difficult to bring your work narrative and examples into the abstract problems that google throws at you in the interviews. Yes, you can make a one off remark that you have had such situations in past. But difficult to bring that in with google especially.

I can totally see why google is failing with selecting PM candidates. PM candidates are supposed to be experienced. If you are not evaluated on your resume strength but on building unrelated things like smart tv’s, you end up with recruiting candidates who are good at saying BS by watching youtube videos
Its tragic FAANG companies are resorting to this line of questioning that makes 0 sense. Product design, strategy questions on domain knowledge make sense

Do these tips also apply to L7 ? What do the interviews look like for L7. Some of the basic frameworks while could be applied in L7 interviews, they do seem very basic and approach as taught in places like exponent, feel more like L5 level. E.g. Typing things out, the interviewers were not interested in L7 typing at all. It felt more like a conversation. So very structured responses in some videos like from exponent or even on this channel dont work that well for L7. So please do a L7 specific interview tips

in a 30 minutes interview dude wants me to either design a product that the interview thinks they should build, or come up with a strategy that they never thought about, or give a fresh analytics perspective to get that 'strong hire' well dude i think the interviewer themselves might not be able to do that.

i think given the low demand and high supply of candidates, the interviewers are really unforgiving and the ask is just too high. feelsbadman
