Thanks for all the useful detailed information on DLC application. You really know your stuff.
Thanks, I had no idea it had any practical application other than aesthetics. Now I know why my Spyderco Military 2 was a fair bit more expensive than its non coated counterpart. One thing I don’t like, is it’s a pain to clean without leaving streaks. I’ve tried gun and knife oils and cleaners, but nothing ever gets it back to a nice even matte black. The closest I’ve ever come to good results is by using Flitz polish. It’s not 100% perfect, but it does get close. A video on how to properly clean DLC blades would be really useful. Thanks again for this video.
Great info, looking forward to vids on pvc and other coatings to come! 🤜🏼
Long love REC!
Another awesome episode Evan!!!! Keep the good information coming I hope I’ll be able to retain it all and I’ll see you in the next video!!!!
I recently got me a LDY Cygnus in DLC. Very rare version of the Cygnus. The coating is very strong. I dropped it on concrete and it didn't even scratch it
Evan ... nice job as always. Kudos 👏 to your editors ... voice inflections vs. subject matter vs. visuals were fantastic. Great tech topic. Wanna tackle bead blast vs. tumbled vs. stonewash next?
Thank you Byron! That will be our next episode!
Loving the mental strop video’s! 🤙
Awesome stuff guys! 👍🏻
Love this brotha!
Good video and great information thanks for sharing brother 👊
Thanks so much for info.
Good stuff! Still the best coating out there imo.
Great vid. I've always carried a knife but had no idea about the dlc being on a molecular level. I've been carrying the BHQ 940 for a month now and I'm using it pretty hard. No scratches yet
great video....i had a guy ask me today what an integral knife was, maybe an idea for future vid!!
How do we do DLC coating at home? I can't find a video on how it's done. Even if it requires a expensive machine I'd like to know where you get this done abd how, also is it possible to make your own DIY process possibly in a cheaper vacuum chamber
REC does custom cerakoting now. Are you guys getting into applying DLC?
Getting into it is a tall order. Permits are fairly easy, but you’re talking probably upwards of $200k in equipment. Pretty much everyone outsources it though, so being one the few (if any) to offer it as an in-house mod would be huge.
Honestly just thought dlc was pretty much paint until now😂
Interesting. Can you recommend outsource companies that offer DLC services ?
