For the demonstration the battery 🔋 pack was left installed which illuminates green LEDs. These LEDs should be ignored because they only illuminate after the battery 🔋 is installed which is the last step so don’t expect to see them until that time.
These instructions worked well for me. I'd like to know how the travel got so far out of whack, door was opening 1/4, but it works now. Remember to watch your noggin' while setting the up travel, that the door doesn't hit you or the rip cord strangles you.
Make sure your wires are correct! I accidently wired the wall button in with the green sensor and the red sensor into the wall button connection on the power head, it caused the red sensor to flash red, and the wall button powered on but would not work. Save yourself 1 hour of troubleshooting.
What happens if you cannot set the Open and close limit successfully? I have a Genie Stealth and it seems to perform contact reverse for 4 inches at every interval of the close limit. Frustrating that the manual does not tell us how to troubleshoot for problems.
The reverse contact test doesn't work on my new SilentMax 750 3/4 HP Belt Drive Garage Door Opener. On rare occasion it will reverse if the 2x3 is on it's side (2.5 inches vs 1.5 inches). I adjusted the up/down limits twice, force levels from 1 to 9, no help. Also, which is more sensitive, 1 or 9?
After initial setup of the garage door opener, the unit should be ran up and down with the wall console to auto-set the force. Did you do this piece? Also please verify that the door is correctly balanced, we can provide you more help over the phone at 1-800-354-3643
@@GenieCompany Thanks. They phone support guy said the 2x4 is supposed to be on its side rather than flat. Flat is what the instruction say and what the picture shows. But it works on edge, so I'm good with that--1.5 inches vs 3.5 inches. As long as my cats don't try to do the Limbo under the sensors, they should be fine.
I just picked this model up today and wired everything and set to go but I'm having trouble programming it.i get to program it to move up with the remote for the car but I try to hit the other button to go reverse and go down but it doesn't.ivecakready programmed it go down to it's limit in my garage.what the hell am I doing wrong? Car remote does not work to go in reverse to go down but it will go up with hitting the top button on the remote.and what button is the reverse anyways? Theirs 3 buttons on the remote but no labeled.i just hit the top button on and it goes up do so I know its for the up button.thanx in advance if someone can help me out🙏🏼
This garage door programming is very difficult. I am going to go fix my brothers in a few minutes. If the door becomes harder to close over time, maybe spring has become weaker door will not close and open with remote. Very annoying! Must go through whole process from start to finish. I see they removed from video how to just increase power to raise and lower door when this happens. Its in the manual how to do this but i could never get it to work. More later after I address this issue!
After i closed and opened the door from wall to set the force remote would not work. Worked from wall only. Then press the square set button on bottom of opener for 2 seconds. From about 5 feet away slowly depress the button of the remote you want to use 2 times. Wait a couple seconds and depress the button on remote you just programmed. The door will move to open or closed position. Hope this helps!

Programmation supposer être terminer. Je ferme la porte et elle remonte tous seul. (problème 2) Il y a t-il quelqu'un qui parle Français qui peux m'aider.

@@lakahang I called their customer service and with their useless remote phone troubleshooting. They acknowledge that the opener is malfunction. However, they are not sending me a new opener. Their solution is to send me a chip that inside the opener and ask me to replace it. it make me very frustrated and i rejected their solution. And going to just buy a different brand.
My new unit doesn't work- once i get the limits set and cycle the doof a couple times it closes and won't open- what a piece of garbage with lousy support-3hr wait time- might just box it back up and return to home depot
Just got off the phone with Genie support- when the first guy couldn't get it working got transferred to a level 2- when he couldn't get it to work he wanted me to remove the motor cover and check the (factory) wiring, which I reluctantly did, then he wanted me to disconnect the motor from the circuit board- ON A BRAND NEW OPENER- what a POS. Packing it up tomorrow and returning it.
I installed this door opener on a different gate/garage door type. The garage door is open but the genie think it is close and same when the garage door is close the genie think it is open. The unit is working fine, it is just that I installed on a different type of door. Is there a way to invert the "position detector"? any way of telling the genei motor that "this position is open and this is close"?
My brand new opener completes the set up and cycles and then it goes red solid long led, any thoughts? Nothing is obstructing and I checked the wires they are not damaged
I’m having pure hell with my Genie. I put in a new MachForce 2 horse and it would not keep the travel distance programs. Each time I opened the door it would stop an inch lower on each open and then it would close too far on each open. I had to reprogram it every day. I took it down and returned it and bought another one and installed it. After about the second day it has started doing the same thing. I have tried to get in touch with someone at Genie and keep getting put on hold. You have any ideas???
HI - Have you checked over the door, for door/spring, related issues? Also after programming the limits, (immediately following) you will need to run the unit from the wall console, 2 complete cycles to lock in the force settings.
@@djcrash1104 did you resolve this? Since two different openers are doing the same thing, I would check the power outlet for proper voltage. I had a similar issue with a customer's opener and there was unusually high voltage at the outlet. They called an electrician who verified it was on the power companies side and the power company had to come out and make some sort of adjustment at the transformer, if I recall.
My late maternal grandfather USED to have Genie garage door in the forms of a remote control and an electric motorized opener. It was at his old house somewhere in California. I'm NOT revealing the real name of the location.
There are some different factors that can effect the speed of the garage door opener, for example the door weight and balance. The opening speed on this garage door opener opener is normally about 7" per second.

If you are performing this step with the wall console ensure that the wall consoles vacation lock is not switched to the on position. @@GenieCompany is it me or does the video here completely, aside from mentioning and title carding, skip the 'how to set' of the "Force control?" he put the door up and down like it says: before Force control can be set, the unit has to do one full cycle. up and down, but then all of a sudden "the force controls are set!" it says. but where was the step in the video?! what did he do?; nothing except cycle the door with the wall control.
As per the manual MANUAL PROGRAMING FORCE CONTROL is pushing the up and down arrows at the same time and then check the color= weak is blue and strongest is red BUT GUESS WHAT??? Pressing the up and down arrows even for a minute doesn’t work. Any help???

Our garage door won’t open past an inch when trying to set the up limit. We have to physically lift it while pressing the up arrow to set the up limit. Then it closes just fine from the wall, but it won’t open again. Any suggestions? Thanks!

The buttons do not make contact with motor head.

Hi did you install your safety beams? The beams must be installed in order for the door to close properly.

I have a solid large red lead (steady) and not operating motor … it just sound like click but no movement … is there some hard reset ?

The springs are ok. Does the force setting affect the travel settings? I’ll try what you said and see if it changes. Thanks.

I just installed the Genie 2055. It seems a little slow when opening up. 15 second to fully open and 10 seconds to close. Is that normal?

Force control (step 3) isn't working for me. The lights aren't coming on either. The light on the switch is on. And steps 1 & 2 I can do.

It is electronically set, when you set the limits, and run the garage door opener 2 full cycles, opened and closed
