Crazy Idea : Auction off the custom hammers Matt fabricated, donate proceeds to your favorite cause. It might even make a fun video to do a live auction where people bid in real-time.
Matt did you a favor!! That hammer design is gonna make you a fortune!! 4 claws on one hammer….. genius!! And who can’t use a double headed/handled hammer? I fact, I can’t find mine. I’ll give you $30 for that one!!
Reminds me of a guy who convinced a co worker to get her brother an electric hammer for Christmas. Of course he came up with one--just a cord fastened into a hammer handle with an electrical plug on the end. Ha, ha.
Good morning Tom Tom, If you put a flange in between the frame and rock slider you should be able to unbolt the body from the chassis. My two cents. Have a great day!
Tom, you and Matt have been and will be very close friends for a loong time to come. It would be cool to have the hammers framed (a Tom Tom metal frame perhaps?) and hanging on your shop wall (clear-coated so it won't rust).
I LOVE how you crossed off that bottom section in case you forgot what side you were keeping. 😅😂 Love the channel, PS, tell everyone you get driveshafts at the drive shaft shop, not drivelines. 😊
Just found your page today, subscribe. And now I’m going to binge watch these episodes. Stated last night and this is my first. Loving it. On to the next episode.
Another great video. Being an OLD builder myself, your explanations of not only what but why are fantastic. Don’t change a thing. Well…maybe a little longer. 😉
You should absolutely do a deep dive into tires and the pros and cons, with your engineering background I feel you’ll make an informative TH-cam video👍🏻 and here is where the masses learn new things, I was sorry to see you leave MORR but am also excited to see where you progress to 👍🏻
Tom, I really enjoy your style of fab work, clean & precise, well thought out along with beautiful welding... You are surely in your element and it shows !! Looking forward to the finish !!
I am also a tire nerd. I think it is so amazing what can be done with a tire swap and everyone going to the tire shops getting whatever they recommend is crazy
I like your approach to fabrication. Seems to me, there is a bit more thought process involved. The explanations during the work process are helpful to me, as I'm not a fabricator. Looking forward to future videos.
You should try steel it. Its weld through stainless steel embedded paint, even after welding It leaves a non rusting surface, and it looks amazing. I use it on all my builds.
Tom, good job! Holly is very cool and strong on the scene! Those hammers are wall hangers in memorial of Matt's declawed shop hammer that somebody did to him! Love your one off shop built truck bed!
You I like the way you explain each step and the thought process that went into went into your decision. Your videos are almost like tutorials the way you show what you are doing. I also like the fact that you speed up the welding sequences yet being thorough showing your work. I rate your videos ++.
Love the new logo! Very classy and eye catching. As for the "set" of hammers, you just knew that was going to come back around. You now have a Claw Claw hammer to go with Tom Tom! 😂
I’m running a set of those 42s on my Comanche. You’re right. I bought the tires first and it helps motivate. I finally installed some exhaust for the 6.0 last night. Day after day a little at a time and mine is coming together
The benefits far outweigh the negatives going to bigger tires. Primarily an object is much easier to roll over than to climb up and over so the “bigger lever” in this instance doesn’t need the extra power.
Hey Tom Tom, Did I hear you speak a little German with "Good an tight" ? Dig Doug is fast becoming a serious Off road vehicle. Those forty inch tires look like monsters compared to the thirty eights.
Love it! The sliders and the 40s are exactly what Dig Dug needed! Love the logo. Have you considered painting D.D Hugger Orange? I think it would look amazing and make your logo, pop!
Tom, I think you sliders are coming along really well. For me I would want my sliders to stick out a little more, because when the rocks are hungry they can bite higher than you expect. I would add a piece of angle iron (maybe 1x1x3/16) to the exposed face of the rectangular tubing with the bottom of the "V" pointing outwards. That would give you a surface that could be replaced easily, down the road, after an attack from those insidious rocks.
Good idea Tom, brings much more stability. In the mudguard area, I would weld approx. 5 mm plates onto the square tubes, which are at wheel height on the inside. This will protect your mudguards. We used to do this when we converted our construction site vehicles for Asia, Africa, Australia and South America for off-road and bush use. Tom I drove a 4.2 liter turbodiesel Landcruiser for a few years as a company car. In winter with Mickey Thompson tires and outside tread. Normal diesel consumption 10 - 12 liters/100km. With Mickey Thompson tires 16 - 18 liters/100km. Greetings from Frankfurt
Love the claw hammers!!.......Your turn......Rory has a great logo. Maybe you could get his guy to do a logo for you.......Stickers.......Doing good!! 172 K subs!!
Hey Tom, Where I live, a Wasp is either a Yellow-Jacket (has alternating Yellow & Black rings on its tail) or the Bigger Red-Wasps (basically Red all over). Hornets are still Bigger & s/b avoided at all cost. They hurt more than the others (fortunately I haven’t had to feel their sting & I run like hell to get away from them).
As a Fan of both you and Matt I feel like I am more involved in the Ball Peen vs Claw Hammer Debate than the typical viewer. In the early days of Matt's Channel, I sent Matt a Blue Wooden Handle Ball Peen Hammer. Back then Matt was able to open gifts from fans and cover it on the Channel. He read my note that read "For all I know you have a dozen Ball Peen hammers but prefer claw hammers because of a sentimental or functional reason." Matt said thanks for the Hammer and said "Tom Tom has been using it." Matt stated that he also used hammers for "Hacking and Prying." Just had to brag about my Blue Hammer a bit.
@@tomtomsshop I put together a short video with footage of my hammer and tire gauge showing up on Matt's Channel. th-cam.com/video/ql7_EquS7oQ/w-d-xo.htmlsi=5mGTiTRL1bV95C83
Nice work. For myself I would build notches in so you can use a high jack on them also I would plumb air to them as reserve air tanks. Maybe build rock lights into them and finally taps for the wet bar with a variety of alcohol. Not serious about all of that.
I love these fabrication videos a lot. Cool background music too. I think I heard some John Wick and some ACDC instrumental music in the background. I would also like to see you do a day or two with Matt off and on again. I love your videos and I love Dig Dug too. Very cool vehicle. I love the rock sliders, the bed and love those new tires. Very cool.
Put a few drain holes in those sliders. If you plug the holes you will get water and rust...best to live with the wasps and not rot out. Matt just did a review of what happens if you don't let water out of all the structural elements in his last video. Tack the hammer to your rear bumper..keeps folks from tailgating :)
00:00 mark... Tom, oh my gosh...you found a Utah Hammer Monster in your shop!! Was it alive?! Did it try to claw you or bite you?! It's a good thing you wore your gloves to touch and handle it!! Dang, that's just scary!!
Tom Tom's Rocks Sliders ROCK!!
Crazy Idea : Auction off the custom hammers Matt fabricated, donate proceeds to your favorite cause.
It might even make a fun video to do a live auction where people bid in real-time.
I was going to type the same! That's a great idea!
Oh the ultimate revenge would be to do as stated above and donate the money to Matt's favorite charity in both your names.
@@bonacker9762 You are cruel!
I was typing the same thing, then I saw your post!
Put those hammers in a frame on the wall and decorate your shop with it to always bring a smile to your face when you look at it lol!
Matt did you a favor!! That hammer design is gonna make you a fortune!! 4 claws on one hammer….. genius!!
And who can’t use a double headed/handled hammer?
I fact, I can’t find mine. I’ll give you $30 for that one!!
That's what I was thinking. That claw hammer will make a nice pickaxe.
Reminds me of a guy who convinced a co worker to get her brother an electric hammer for Christmas. Of course he came up with one--just a cord fastened into a hammer handle with an electrical plug on the end. Ha, ha.
The hammers look 11% more useful.
Tom Tom You do things right. Pleasure to see you work. Thanks for taking us along!
Good job tom!
Those hammers are hilarious. I can't wait to see where that goes with the payback.
Those hammers would be getting mounted to my wall like trophy pieces, they are amazing 🤣
Cut them apart and you will have two new hammers.
I loved the hammers. I hope you saved them for great conversation pieces.
Just watched Matt and Katelynn deliver those a couple of hours ago! 😂

Your channel is everything I loved about Matt’s when you were there, you are a building genius and you make it look so easy. Good stuff sir, you rock
Good morning Tom Tom, If you put a flange in between the frame and rock slider you should be able to unbolt the body from the chassis. My two cents. Have a great day!
That's what I'm thinking.
I actually watched Matt's video about the hammers before watching yours, so that made this work out really good.
You explain things so clearly that even a fabrication dummy can understand. I have learned a ton from you. Thanks.
Yes I can !!!!! Thanks for thinking of me !!!
Love the channel, PS, tell everyone you get driveshafts at the drive shaft shop, not drivelines. 😊
You've changed man. Look at you just eyeballing stuff, freehand drawing lines and just making it work. You go Tom 😂😂
I take it all back. I just watched you use a digital angle gauge. Not cool Tom....not cool 😂😂
He’s been hanging around that Wetzel guy.
@scottstone4948 I saw him using the same tool recently too. Wouldn't have happened before TomTom got to him lol. Dangerous combo those 2 🤣
Use the spot in front of the back tire as a step to access the bed from the side. Just a thought.
That's a good idea!
Just found your page today, subscribe. And now I’m going to binge watch these episodes. Stated last night and this is my first. Loving it. On to the next episode.
This channel is really good. We love the builds
Matt is such a nice guy........
I LOVE your use of editing and time lapse.
Can't wait to see more.

40" Mickey Ts!! The channel must be .......ROCKin'!
Another great video. Being an OLD builder myself, your explanations of not only what but why are fantastic. Don’t change a thing. Well…maybe a little longer. 😉
Nitto Trail Grapplers are the only tires I’ve ever loved, but those 40” Baja Boss’s look really good. Those side knobs are sharp.
More good stuff Tom! Do your thing, we'll all be watching!
Cool episode and Nice job on those rock sliders!!

Bigger tires every couple months. I like where you're headed.
Tom Tom, Dig Dug should definitely be your brand colours when you eventually get him painted.
I am also a tire nerd. I think it is so amazing what can be done with a tire swap and everyone going to the tire shops getting whatever they recommend is crazy
Tom Tom you need to try to collaborate with Project Farm on that deep dive tire video. That would be the crossover to watch.
Yes!!! Project Farm Farm + Tom Tom
Cousin Eddie's RV would finally get unstuck!
Always pleasure to see a new TomTom video. DigDoug is coming along nicely. It's hammer time, looking forward to the sequel.
TY for sharing your inspiring work Tom, Tom the Wizard ! ✌🏻🫶🏻
Claw claw for Tom Tom
nice to see you giving some upgrades to Dig Dug, rock sliders look good so far, always a pleasure watching your content, thanks for sharing
Thank you Tom for the update on Dig Dug !
You are a super one man show. Your knowledge and explanation clarity is outstanding.... Aloha
Great Channel Tom, thats what I like to see , much Fabrication.... 👍
Dig Dug is gonna appreciate those sliders for sure, nice video.
9:38 vote to have Tom Tom keep the hammers as wall decorations. Please either like or comment to keep the hammers
Don't worry, I kept the hammers. I just need to figure out what to do with them.
Looks like quality wall art! Some things need to be displayed, to continue the chuckles... Thanx !
Yeah! Mounted on a plaque, onto the wall.
Definitely keepers
You don't keep them. You modify them and hide them back in Matt's shop.
I like playing the air guitar to the music while you work. 🎸
Every video is a grand slam! Tom Tom you are a natural at this video thing. Well done!
Big fan of Dig Dug, and the Tom Tom family. You guys rock.
nice work Tom thanks for taking us along!!!

For audio benefits, maybe try hanging some carpet, blankets or banners on those high walls to dampen the echo.
Or get more hoarder proof and wall hangins.
You should try steel it. Its weld through stainless steel embedded paint, even after welding It leaves a non rusting surface, and it looks amazing. I use it on all my builds.
Good work Tom. A suggestion: add two cross struts from the slider to the frame to make it stronger..
Hi Tom, your truck is going to look really nice sitting on those new tires with rock sliders.
For a back cubby you could use a military surplus ammo box mounted sideways. That's how I had my 64 flatbed ford truck to store my snow chains.
Tom, good job! Holly is very cool and strong on the scene! Those hammers are wall hangers in memorial of Matt's declawed shop hammer that somebody did to him! Love your one off shop built truck bed!
Brother Tom,you have to put that sticker back on dog dug, dirt digger's.what a cool find. Truck is looking good too. Later brother

Love the hammers Matt! How about a plasma cutter on the rockers?
Tom Tom, I love to watch you work. Keep 'Em coming! Cheers
Cool logo, Tom Tom.
Tom, you can use the fuel tank brackets for mounting an air tank so you can have extra air capacity for airing tires.
Thanks for the video Tom

Those wasp nests are the best fish bait. Fish just love the larva. I have caught some big fish with paper wasp nest grubs
@tomtomsshop2 ok so what does that mean
Nice job! :) I would keep the holes where the "wasps" got inside as I think they are designed to let water out.
Really enjoy the show Tom you are doing great thanks for all the hard work

Tom, you need a belt grinder. I have plans for the one I built that is at least 10 years old and working great!
I like the new logo! Good to see Dig Dug get some improvements!

I can see DigDug giving Grampa Sherman some competition if you keep going. Love this truck.
Mickey's are a excellent choice! I got my 37s and it's the best tires I had so far
I love your balance between Planning, explaining and doing. This ties everything together. Thanks.,
You have GOT TO do something with the hammers. They are one of a kind. Liking the channel. Keep it up.

Make the bottom of the hammers look like the top of the hammers, and give back to Matt. Tell him you improved his design flaw!
The rock sliders look great
looks good. on the bees and wasp nest. if you don't have bee killer spray brake cleaner works just as good.
