Russian plays perfectly, serve or even spike over Thai team block. Anyway Thai team also plays real good. This is also a wonderful match in VNL2021. So proud of Thai team.

Before i knew the story on what happened to the Thailand national team (the one that originally intended to compete in VNL), as I watched their highlights against USA, i told myself that Thailand really need to start recruiting young blood because these current players already lost their old speed, high jump and stamina. They are not that the same team anymore, that eventhough the smallest one but still can be an eyesore to the tallest team. Then the story came out thru comments, in just one snap the respect that I have for them was doubled. And here, winning a set against a powerhouse Russia is like a win at all. :)
Most of the older players already retired, they just come for this trip with six days preparation from their holiday.

She probably would overtake Kosoleva spot in the skuad, Voronkova is good in defense but her spikes is weak and predictable.
@@wilhelmusruperno1296 are you sure you're talking about Voronkova? her spike is powerful but slow and predictable. Her defense isn't good either.
Without practicing when they knew they have to come VNL after the full Thai national team have got Covid infected, but they still got some set in this tournament.

Russian team need a good coach .
there is so many star player in Russia but they didn't get any gold medal after 2010
They need a coach to gather them together .everyone in the team need to put effort but not just rely on someone's individual ability. Volleyball is teamwork.
@@ziwei1477 what they need is a system change. They have an old school volleyball system. Brazil almost has the same players still playing from 2010, even the same coach. but still as strong as ever because they evolve. Russia needs to stop relying on their height too much. they are very slow.

If I were the Thailand coach, instead of calling up retired players, I would have used younger players (probably the U 19 team) to give them valuable experience. Thai players work hard and play well but they can't keep it up till the end.
They’re covid positive so this is actually its plan b team.

i assume you didn't know the background. this team is not the first choice roster which contains a lot of young rising star players. Unfortunately, many of them were tested posted for Covid just a couple of weeks prior to the game. Thus, this team was formed as an adhoc team just a week before the tournament. The coach is also new. Given the situation they have been facing, I think they have done a fantastic job. Kudos to all Thai players. You and your team are very special to the world of volleyball.
@@wolfgangvonbraun1713 Thailand U19 U17 players as you and the initial comment person mentioned are those who tested positively on COVID-19. Other players were not in better condition to form a replacement team. The idea was good, but the fact made the answer.
@@apichaipunnahitananda8408 I can second that. Thailand U17 or U19 players are among the first choice roster. it was very unfortunate that they contracted Covid. Consequently, Thailand was left with limited choices. Thailand Volleyball Association did request to pull out from the tournament but this will result in losing their place in the next VNL game and will have to start from Challenger tounament again. Thus, Thailand has no choice but to send the current adhoc squad to VNL.
The current players were selected from players from the last round of Thai national league which finished mid-April just a month prior to VNL. Most players have played together in the league so they would take less time for training. In this case, they literally had only three days of training prior to their first match against Japan. In my opinion, they have done a very good job.
It is pretty obvious that VNL is to give experience to young talents for some teams while others are also using VNL to check their tactics prior to the Olympics games. BTW Zhu Ting and her teammates are on their way to Rimini. This second half is going to be very exciting!
