Your weren’t to specific, but definitely got the point across. I was stressing myself out trying to get my obd to get power and it wasn’t. I checked fuses over and over again and could find a blown fuse. But after watching this video I re checked everything and it was missing the 20 fuse. So I put a new one and it worked! Thank you, definitely helped me out!
Thanks! I had the same problem in my F150 and this was the fix, and I was able to read my CEL code and correct the problem before I take it in for an emissions test this week!
Thank you, it worked for me. I was irritated like others that you didn’t put a fuse name on it. I get it, mine was fuse 4-20amp They didn’t label my fuses on a 2003 F-150, just numbers that are probably in the long lost book.
Get a Actron CP9690 code tester. It reads live, record, graphing, emission readiness test, transmission codes, SRS, ABS, oil change reset, check engine light reset, RPM'S, coolent temperature, MPH, and MORE! It comes in a black pouch. It includes a cigarette lighter cable. The batteries are behind the single screw on the back cover, not included. They are penlight batteries.
I'm a retired tech, not for Ford, but the lights on the dash may be active because the scan tool is hooked up and communicating with the modules. Did replacing the fuse fix your running problem? I'm assuming it did. Next what popped the fuse? Don't stress fuses get old (heat) and fatigued, and could blow for that reason.
Thats man just bought a Foxwell NT630 scanner to troubleshoot ABS light before and could get power to scanner from PC but nothing from plugin in 2007 F150 went straight to fuse and it was blown .
Give the guy a break. You want him to lead you by the hand; you and seven others so far? It is quite obvious where the fuse is in the video. The fact he told you his problem was a fuse is a big help in the first place. Would you of thought about a fuse?
I know I'm a Year late, but some are saying it's shared with the cigarette lighter, my guess is someone possibly plugged in a multi outlet and overworked it .
I typed in 1999 Ford F150 that brought me TO THIS video......BUT my truck DOES NOT HAVE a fuse box on the passenger side AT ALL!! My fuse box is under the dash on the drivers side and I checked ALL the fuses and NOT ONE OF THEM were blown!!!!

2006 xlt 4.6 My fuse setup was different, but was still far left, in the same row. Fuse was blown, as in the video.
Thanks for this video I will make sure to replace mine cuz it’s not working
So helpful! Now I can get my emissions tested!
Thank you, very useful!!!!

Thanks man it really helped me fix my truck
Thank you very much
I thought that was your front cigarette light fuse. I just changed mine a week ago an it fixed my lighter.
I did as you ,but my truck will not start nor will obdII scan it shows link error
Would of been nice to explain what fuse. But what i no its normally linked to cigarette lighter fuse.
How you dod the harnees
What fuse is it this was not helpful

Its the datalink connector fuse...it will be different with all cars but look at the fuse diagram and find it to replace
👍
Tanks 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
How about helping us and tell us the number of fuse.
What fuse was blown?
ford sucks
Dooi you albe a diagram by chance?
what Fuse is it that was blown
Fuse is fine
sir can you tell me please What is the name of the fuse
You didn’t even show the obd port?
But, there's gotta be a reason that fuse blew in the first place. Fuses last FOREVER. I've seen them last 40 years.
I know I'm a Year late, but some are saying it's shared with the cigarette lighter, my guess is someone possibly plugged in a multi outlet and overworked it .
Do i need to disconnect battery before I remove the fuse?
Hi, no not necessary.
No

His is a 2005; apparently a fuse is not YOUR problem. YOUR POINT!!!! Why not ask if anyone else has the same year and problem?
Me ayudo
That's not a linking problem. That's a turn on problem! Waste of time!!
Did you ever find anything that addressed why the scanners will get power but not data
Thank you very much
