The only guy that can apologise for standing on his table when passing his prosthetic over. 😂 Mate you're a legend and was a pleasure serving along side you.
I am ex para reg, and I was chatting to a 1 para bloke and I started ripping the RAF regiment being part of SFSG. And he said to me, they are sound lads. They know their stuff very professional, very physed up and are skilled and drilled. I thought fair one.
Don't normally watch these. But saw you were ex II so made myself comfy (it's nearly 2 hours long!!) and gave it a go. Very good. Couldn't put it down. All the best to you, Duncan. Nunquam Non Paratus. Kempy
A real privilege to be on your show Dodge, really enjoyed it, like I said you’ve made me sound way better than I am buddy!!!! Thank you very much again. Dunc 🦿🦿
Hi Duncan I was a freefall parachutist for 10 years I have tremendous respect for you RAF guys especially the Regiment that protects all our Bases domestic and worldwide all my RAF mates were mostly boxing or playing golf in their spare time they were very disciplined and always polite with a wicked sense of humour,My club was at RAF weston on the green many many happy memories there mate thanks to you guys guarding the base over the weekends as one Para to another take care and Blue Skies every day mate.
Finished this afternoon dunc is the man we all strive to be in the head what a bloke.. shed a tear when he said about his pal at the end 😢 men’s mental health will always be a huge silent killer!!! more health and blessing Duncan
What a guy Donc. We had some great times together mate, always respected you and remember the 2009 tour well. One that will always stay with me! Good to see you smiling! Much love brother 💙💙
Just found this podcast and was surprised as I'd not heard of Duncan's situation, so proud of his attitude , honesty and spirit, and as an ex RAF Regiment of 22 years, he's what our motto is about Through Adversity (Per Ardua), Keep going Duncan, you're a credit to the RAF Regiment, Per Ardua 👏
How he finished saying he didn't think he was the calibre to come on this show! Duncan is the epitome of calibre for this show! Wow what a bloke, i was hooked from start to finish. Would love to shake this guys hand! Another great podcast Dodge. Amazing seeing you grow each week. Best podcaster around 👏👏
I’ve listened to all of your podcasts Dodge as well as others, and I don’t think I’ve heard a story like his. Without trying, and perhaps even realising, he is an inspiration to many. But as lucky as he is to have Kim, she and their daughter are also immensely lucky to have him. His daughter should be proud, which I have every reason to believe she is. Her dad is a superhero.
Cannot imagine what it has been like for him to get to where he is today. What a great attitude and sense of humour he has. That bit about his wife and the volunteers for an expedition to the south pole had me chuckling.........what a great 2 hours listening to him.
This interview made me laugh, cry, mixed emotions, going through some similar stuff Duncan spoke about still .. Served in RAF Regt myself having to deal with mental issues in own way and thought after returning from war zones etc ,does take its toll. All the best Duncan from a fellow Jock and Rock Ape.. Per Adua
The word legend gets thrown about too easily nowadays, but Duncan is the real deal. A very inspiring man and as humble as the day is long. Excellent interview as always Dodge, this one will take some beating.
Love all the special forces and old lag stuff. This however was on another level.'Eventful Live' doesn't even scratch the surface. Incredible story told by an incredible human being. Bravo Dodge, I hope you enjoyed it. This could conceivably the peak of your broadcasting mountain!
Duncan I salute you , you’re a real hero mate, many reasons you got through all this, including your great sense of humour when everything is against you, love Inverness by the way mate took my young son not so long ago, All Cap Badges salute you mate, your a special one. Ex Veteran .
I've got a lump in my throat watching this... It was such a great interview. It's sort of hit home for me.. my brother was in a motorbike accident 10 years ago.. he lost his leg and broke his neck and back.. put him in a wheelchair for the rest of his life.. and when he said he's feeling like a burden on his wife .. can relate to that so much.. my brother felt the sam, but none of us felt like he was.. my brother girlfriend was 8 months pregnant at the time.. due to all the stress not knowing if my brother would pull through.. unfortunately, we lost her at 8 months 💔.. now where having to watch him bury his daughter.. luckily, his girlfriend stayed with him and fast forward 10 years they both have 2 beautiful kids.. I've never heard the guy complain once about what hes been through.. which hurts because i know he's hurting.. The average joe complains about petty stuff, and then you get people like this man who has been through the worst and still keeps pushing forward.. respect to this man 🤝
In absolute tears… great interview what a guy! Guys struggle to talk because it’s admission, been there will always have it hanging but once you confide with someone close it’s easier when it comes around again. Stay strong brothers, pills aren’t always the answer
Needed to hear and see this episode right now, put a extra layer of perspective on a few bits for me. A couple of sneaky tears through that too. Tough man and I wish him and his family well
Omg.. I nearly swerved this as I was like, it's going be another sas thing.
