    Before injuries, Mark Price was just a bad man... One of the greatest pure shooters, had handles and flair, was agile, could take it to the cup, high IQ player, great passer, very tough and gritty, split the pick like no other... One of the best PG’s.

      At the same level as John Stockton! Why Mark Price is so underrated player? Price was a better shooter and scorer and Stockton a better passer and stealer!

    Mark Price is the least famous member of the 50-40-90 club, but with slightly better % averages than the other members. Why do you think a player with such skill and finesse slipped through the cracks? It's rare that you hear this guy's name being mentioned. This channel is fire btw, I'm loving these career mixtapes. Hip-Hop fits with basketball highlights so smoothly.

    • @DrVanNostrand01

      Because his teams could never get over the mountain that was Jordan and the Bulls. Cavs, of that era are remembered more for the shot than their own individual achievements. Which sucks but I think it's that and the fact that he played in Cleveland a smaller market that usually gets no national respect.

    • @arsonhakobyan
      @arsonhakobyan 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Better offensively than Stockton? It's close, but Stockton's the greatest pure passer that ever lived. Price was a purer shooter, and a good passer, but the 15 assists per game that Stockton averaged at his apex, is a lot of offense to offset.

    • @strykerman4670

      better than Stockton? no, great player though

    • @arsonhakobyan
      @arsonhakobyan 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, cause the only thing Price was really better at than Stockton from a statistical standpoint was free throw & 3-point shooting. I'd say Price was a tad quicker too, but even Price wasn't particularly explosive. They both were your prototypical white point guard who ran the pick-&-role tenaciously, liked to pass, who could be physically man-handled by bigger, stronger, more physical, more athletic black guards if not babied by the officials.

    • @Durante_di_Alighiero
      @Durante_di_Alighiero 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@arsonhakobyan "who could be physically man-handled by bigger, stronger, more physical, more athletic black guards if not babied by the officials." - Lol. anybody could be man-handled by a bigger stronger player :D . Isiah Thomas was man-handled all the time, that's why he never really made layups and played so dirty. Not to mentioned hide behind Rodman, Laimbeer, Sally and Mahorn.

    • @arsonhakobyan
      @arsonhakobyan 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Durante_di_Alighiero But Isiah Thomas was explosive enough to beat the bigger more physical guard of the dribble against a hand-check most the time, to then draw fouls on bigs, find the open man or finish an uncontested layup when neither the big man steps up, nor the defense collapses. I'm not trying to be so politically correct, just accurate. Usually bigger guards would pick up cheap fouls guarding someone like a Stockton or Price, which was why opposing coaches were reluctant to use their bigger guards on them defensively when the refs were calling it close. In a more physical game, that strategy had some success. Stockton & Price were also feisty enough to cause contact that would get them the cheap whistle when they had a lot of body to work w/, and the refs were hand-check whistle happy. I'm not looking at just skin color, or I'd be including Jason White Chocolate Williams, Bobby Sura, John Paxson, Pete Maravich or other white point guards into this conversation, but they all play a vastly differently style from what I'm talking about here, and part of it is cause their individual genetics are different, so the schemes they fit into are different. I'm not saying that all black point guards play 1 way either, but there are some general discrepancies. There are general discrepancies between how blondes & brunettes play.

      91' would've been his peak year, except he got terribly injured that year.

    90's great players are always have less and unnecessary moves to their game..... Like what kevin durant said about MJ.... And also they have quick first step to get by any defenders.....

    Today is the white shark, but before there was a megalodon, today is curry but before there was Price.

    Mark Price was a complete guard; he could shoot the lights out, 90% at the line; 3-point range; tough-minded; great penetrating off the dribble and creating open shots -- he just had a soft front court in Cleveland but could hold his own vs. Isiah Thomas, Dennis Johnson, beat out Kevin Johnson for the starting job in Cleveland which is why they traded KJ to Phoenix for Larry Nance; could own Doc Rivers, definately a better guard than Doc Rivers; just as good as Tim Hardaway, John Stockton, and Gary Payton... the man had a knee injury in 1990-91 which held him back but he could do his thing in any situation possible and proved it in Golden State -- he could just play well, all the time.
    Mark Price and Dell Curry prove that Steph Curry could have played during that era.

      How do Jerry West & Danny Ainge make this list? I understand Bob Cousy & John Stockton. Ainge & West were mainly shooting guards, not true point guards.

    If Mo Cheeks got in then so should Price! I think eventually he will get the call since it is a no brainer that Price was a better overall player than Cheeks.
