I have severe anger from ptsd and other mental illness. My empathy was practically destroyed. After I began to wish for good things for others I began to tear up in a very painful way. I realize this anger is hurting me more than anything. The tears released a little bit of animosity from the pain that others caused me. I know now a good way out is to have compassion for the ones that did me wrong. Because I’m also not perfect and did others wrong so I must take that into consideration

They are one of the most consistent in eco success and focus, boasting a tree of life that is now inspiring other states to majorly increase treehugging and devotion to solar power and biofuel use.
The people and culture there truly know beautiful ways of showing a consistent grounded respect for trees.
Wisconsin is a beautiful haven for the forests, and they are actively persuading other states to truly reaffirm they are the same.
Wisconsin citizens sat down with Maryland and shook a lot of delusion and ignorance about forest preservation out of their minds. Maryland is no longer building and toxifying, with a higher grade of self respect blossoming due to the character intervention of this often forgotten but eco heroic state, Wisconsin!

First time using this meditation. I found myself fiercely loving the people I love, so much so, when they came to mind, I cried. I also found myself hesitant to bring happiness and peace to the people who have hurt me. I didn’t repeat the saying until the third time. It’s been years since I’ve spoken to some of these people, but it was a clear indication that I need some work. Thanks for reading. ❤️

My favorite metta meditation. Listening to this for over a year. Helps with calming me down especially during intense bouts of anxiety. Since I'm empathic, and all of us are, I absorb my family's stress and anxiety, my coworkers' too. And if I really think about it, we I also take on ancestral trauma, and we also carry collective trauma, past and present. The challenges of 2020, the gateway to the 21st century have been especially stressful. Metta loving kindness is the balm, the practice that releases and transmutes much of this by including the people we don't know in the news, world leaders, people in the illusions of disconnect and divisiveness, ancestors and descendants... all living creatures and existence in our homes, neighborhoods, countries, planet, cosmos, multiverses, dimensions, timelines, timecycles... in addition to those we know, those we love... and in addition to having compassion for our selves. May you and all be happy, May you and all be comfortable. May you and all be well. May you and all be at peace.

Excellent video, excellent practice! I have been in New Age religions and back-to-the-Bible Christianity, but Loving Kindness Meditation (LKM) really works. I have been practicing for 30 min, twice a day for about 5 months, and LKM really is changing me into a better, more empathetic and understanding person. ॐ

Loving kindness for beggars in the street! May their fortune improve and may they be able to meditate peacefully and attain enlightenment.
This is my favorite Metta meditation. Five or six years ago, after months of feeling anger and frustration toward a certain US President, I decided to wish him well instead. It helped me be a kinder, happier, and more balanced person. That only lasted for as long as I practiced though. I’m very happy to be back.

Allow yourself to get comfortable,
relax your shoulders,
relax your eyes,
relax your jaw.
You can be seated or lying down for this meditation.
Today we'll be exploring metta or loving kindness.
Through this metta meditation,
we'll be exploring the cultivation of feelings of compassion,
feelings of loving kindness for yourself and for others.
So allow yourself to relax
and notice how your breath feels right now.
Simply watch your breath.
Notice the texture of your breathing.
Notice the rate of your breathing.
Notice the depth of your breathing.
There's no need to change it, simply observe.
And bring your awareness to your chest,
to your heart,
place your awareness there,
as you continue to watch your breath.
Notice what it feels like to breathe into your chest,
to breathe into your heart.
Simply place all of your awareness
right there in the center of your chest.
Now slowly and silently,
repeat this phrase in your mind:

I’ve been practicing mental relaxation for over forty years. Recently I was made aware of loving kindness meditation. It’s lovely and so beautiful to have expanded the practice.
I'm so glad you enjoyed the loving-kindness meditation.
I'm pretty new to meditating, but I've tried to make it an *almost* daily practice. My meditations up to this point have been to focus on my breath and be still in the moment...all about me. And probably like everyone else, my mind will wander. Today is the first time I've done a meta meditation, and it was a breakthrough. As I focused on others, starting with the ones I love, to acquaintances, to someone I have conflict with, to the world...my breath caught and before I knew it, I was crying. This was a beautiful meditation and moment in time - thank you!

This is a beautiful meditation that is powerful and compassionate. Even the people I loathe who have done me harm I can wish well -- because if they were happy, well, comfortable and at peace they wouldn't abuse or try to control people. Lovingkindness is such a wonderful way to find compassion, peace, and understanding. Thank you for this, WiseMindBody. I love it! This meditation is also good for my health, and my digestion, of all odd things - but we hold tension and repressed emotion in so many parts of our body and mind.

Yes, wisdom, and even more well wishing for those we love, what if that which we dislike is not a harm, because love is complete, an enlightened soul doesn't harm simply deweaponizes energy..

Same here. Glad I am not alone in the tearjerk reaction when imagining those I love and have conflict with. Someone recently hurt me very badly, yet my heart aches for the suffering THEY have endured that resulted in their cruel behavior. 😢

Oliverkhoo, Buddhist trust is what's most important for happiness that is more than transient and unreal at the core! The truth is that there is emptiness! Do you understand paradoxically there is no 'you' that could understand or not, thus the strains and ties of life are artificial, we are stone buddhas, pretending to be moved by wind alone... So let us be sure wind alone moves us, not the delusion steering of ignorances that lead only to more suffering. Lovingkindness, be comfort, at comfort within a mind subdued by it's honesty, there is only the self and examination of the self yields to the healing of no self, first unity.
So we abstain from verbal creation of ignorances and sense, we adhere to the fate of stone buddhas, meditating and moved only by wind not by the law of man within man. So that is our pointing to truth alone, because now they say, there were many temples and stone buddhas but now suddenly they are gone, perhaps stolen, yet when Buddhist seekers sit in meditation those temples are restored and their fruits plain to see again, because there is no joy in temple if there is no real Buddhist experience, not an experience subjugated to the mundane life first but solely reflctinginf the budhas in all moments

you are within your Buddha incarnations, out of the realm of these kinds of relationships and that is no small thing to be grateful for, but you will remain there, as will I, lovingkindness, may our hearts always be too good to truly harm others, may we always have the cute aura
In a way I have it the other way around. I feel guilt and shame over things that I have said in the past to others. This definitely helps to deal with the emotions even though making amends is not necessarily possible.

I have been looking for a guided metta meditation for a few weeks now. Have tried a few others but this one "works" better than the others The tone, music, choice of words and pace are very effective. To the point where I look forward to doing it (I have quite the monkey mind, lots of doubt and conflict) and feel it working in all my relationships and at work.

Loving kindness, I have gone to several religious sites today, I am spiritually clean and partaking of the bread of heaven. Loving kindness, I meet favourable circumstances, heavy rain and snow, earth and forest healthy not harmed, wisdom in abundance throughout books and nature. I was raised in a Buddhist Jewish environment with much access to the power of now, but little access to the corrupt world, I became grounded and remain grounded in wholesome ways. Loving kindness I am in a sense here hugging trees so that all of us can have more trees and better forests and rivers tomorrow by enjoying them with proper respect today. Be merciful by being clean and not letting trash collect on the earth. Nature makes it easy for itself to be clean, humans within it are no exception!
Loving kindness you will find yourself thinking ❤❤
With an open heart, relinquishing a need to over control situations but also not in any real way becoming degraded or harmed.
Loving kindness,a more relaxed yet equally clean way of life, I see the people around me becoming more aware of energy attachment cords and learning to lucidly cut them and always reinforce and protect the ones that are truly roots of trees and plants in nature.

Loving-kindness for my Parents, the amorphous ball of Kind Energy emanates to the ones who raised me.
Loving kindness for Environmentalists in Maryland, USA writing to government officials at every level to democratically encourage greater respect for Mother Nature, cancellation of as much new construction as possible, and extolling the real benefits of taking time with nature again and again and actually learning about plants, especially local herbs.
Loving kindness because their hearts and wisdom is in the right place, they are not distracted by other issues that are less pressing, they actually see the root of all the problems in one! Like defeating the many headed hydra, nature awareness, respect and appreciation throughout civilization serves as an easy catalyst for improved health in humans but also in the world around us, gives us the maturity and wisdom to be able to take more breaks from a society that can be draining or even blindly endorsed to harmful effects over time if we do not periodically unplug and access it's TRUE results (in my opinion society does not need to be destroyed, it needs continual realignment with truly helpful goals that can only come out unplugging ourselves to rest and also observe its function from outside rather than only from within its processes!)
Loving kindness these environmentalist will succeed thanks to a healthy solar Plexus and they will inspire other environmentalists worldwide to do the same through this style of activism (merely writing in) before going for more strenuous methods.

We have spared much more than we would have, we have cancelled a lot of planned construction,
construction companies have run out of money because the power of natural wildlife and the environment is more important to the hearts of the people and the health of earth.
After years and years of nagging, the roots have grown surprisingly deep, environmentalists hold much quiet power
While usually not realizing it, thus maintaining small ego.
If civilization is a tree, what is happening now is nature is growing over it, but turning it into ruin but harmonizing and energizing it, loving kindness because the toxic elements of modern civilization are severely lessened by the integrating of plants growing freely and wildly without pots or square plots, just as nature shows them with normal society, natural flowers inspire us to live with dignity and carry deep wisdoms.
Loving kindness you recieve benefits for being more ecofriendly in the end of the day you have actually grown more trees than were destroyed and detoxed more than was polluted! This is Yang. This is what we see from the eagle view above, everyone must keep their eco intentions but lovingkindness it is slowly paying off.

For me this was super, super, super relaxing. I melted into the sofa. Plus, a few months reading my Bible I ran across these words used multiple times which I had never noticed before, "loving kindness"

Very difficult for me to do. My first time trying this one. It made me cry a lot. When I thought of loved ones I get along with & don’t get along with. Also, felt myself closing down at the end praying for everyone bc I don’t like everyone, actually hate some people who have done permanent harm to my love ones. I will try it again though. Thank you I like this one. This meditation changed my life. And I was searching for a good one to give to a friend that I think needs it. The mantra that I use is slightly different and I find many variations but I don't think the variations matter the message is basically the same. Everyone deserves loving kindness. This meditation opened up my heart in a way I didn't know was possible. And I became calmer and more at peace and more present and more happy even in the worst of times. I wish everyone would do this just once everyday. Because eventually you'll feel your heart open up in a way you have never felt before. And when that feeling drifts away eventually it just means you need to go back and continue doing this meditation. That's been my experience anyways. Thanks again! Loving kindness meditation, I and those around me be are successfully protected from tragedy, from broken or lost objects, from robbers in the street, not by weapons and locks, but by wisdom of the heart, no one wants to steal because they believe in karma, and bad things do not befall good people who ally themselves with the earth's way. Thank you for helping our environmentalist endeavors to succeed, specifically we sought a way to prevent excess energy usage this winter. Loving kindness for the awareness of spirit energy, it flows through all things, it actually can be the heating principle in homes however it looks just like electric heat, the difference is spiritual energy is given proper gratitude and never left on when not in use, when we ask the creator we recieve nonpolluting energy, and we learn to live in tune with energy, this awareness allows us to evade bad situations though we may not even realize we are doing it.. bad does not befall a sage

Lovingkindness for the bees.
The bees are an advanced civilization that have existed long before humanity on the planet earth. I have recently had an experience where bees slowly guided me through a functioning insect civilization, to taste honey made for different purposes. They taught a little about the way of longevity, to do natures work and also to philosophize is the way of the bee culture.
They are saying bees are influencing the minds of humanity and causing good to be done by humankind that doesn't set the balance of nature as a whole at detriment. Bees are for balance.
I am thankful that the bees have called to me I am glad that they are bountiful in my area and hope it is a sign of ecological balance miraculously returning after many efforts from individuals governments and organizations. I will continue listening and beeing open to their inspirational hints, may they find favourable conditions in my area and throughout all their nature habitats on earth.
I am grateful to have been taken to the queen bee, I am respectful of the Goddess energy
I haven't been allowed to describe what my experiences were here but I am grateful not to have disturbed the nature

What’s nice about this metta is the last section that includes a thought for everyone in the world. Most mettas I’ve heard and practiced don’t do that. It actually caught me off guard and I got a little choked up.

Something has evolved in the heart there, something that is bound to sweep across the whole earth like a dervish.
There is a profound peace blossoming in quiet, a storm has given way, enlightenment has been settled into, surrender
Brings strong fighters to loosen grip of weapons, realizing karma is mot bringing harm to them if they are not dishing it out.
There is a rumor of vegetarian vows and buddhist wisdom permeating in groups once seemingly lost to selfish violences.
The divine is everywhere, duality is its last veil, great peace and it is this peace and its resulting nounties that cures the earth and this teaching which spreads, that of mystical love
