Well, nobody’s gonna like this news,
After watching a ton of these videos I have four of these batteries and this is exactly what’s happening also.
I’m one of the most recent batteries the gentleman opened it up and found three single cell batteries inside of the unit.
These are all in series and the first battery is the problem and will die and go to zero charging capabilities.
The other two might still have .5 V in them but once a battery becomes solo, he can no longer be recharged.
According to that TH-camr , he says that if the batteries are going to be stored for longer than one year they must be charged.
So I guess I’m out about $400 unless I can find a way to change out or jumpstart that battery.
I do know that with DeWalt batteries if you leave them off the charger long enough , they will also not recharge but there is a way to jumpstart these with a positive or negative line on a 2120 V line with almost a one or two second instant charge.
I will continue to keep looking for any sort of instructions that enable us to swap out that single cell battery if possible , or to do some sort of a jumpstart to it.
I really can’t believe that Dji would seller such an expensive helicopter with expensive batteries and not notify us of this anywhere.
    Really not that cool?

Sneaky DJI doesn't tell you that you have to keep your batteries always charged, otherwise they die. This is how money made, because they won't replace and won't fix them for you, you MUST buy new ones.
Fun fact - those batteries are actually fine and can be fixed in a few minutes, it's just a special DJI chip on them that decides that it won't charge these anymore and it wants you to buy new one.
    Good job DJI.

Not used my Mavic for 18 months. I have 6 batteries. Only one is charging as we speak. The other 5 appear to be doing nothing.
I read an article online that says the batteries go into hibernation mode after a while and do not light up. As long as the batteries are not damaged or swollen, it says it is ok to go ahead and charge them to wake them up. Apparently this can take anywhere up to 24 hours.
The article also says do not press the battery button on the battery itself or turn the batteries on and off at the mains when trying to wake them up or it will not work. If they do not charge after 24 hours they are probably dead batteries.
The battery that is currently charging is on the same blue charger in this video. I have another one connected but that looks like it is not charging. The other 4 batteries are connected to the same 4 battery hub as in this video and they are not charging either. The only difference I have with my 4 way hub, is that I have it plugged into an DJI Mavic Pro charger and not into the blue charger like in the video.
The battery that is currently charging on the blue charger, I tried putting on the 4 way hub and it was charging on there as well so I know the hub and power brick work fine. I just have to wait for them to come out of hibernation mode.
I hope this helps someone. Just a side note. You try anything I just mentioned at your own risk. Also 8 would recommend watching the batteries while they charge and don’t charge them on flammable work surfaces.

The port has a section under it where the same fitting that charges the battery’s individually connects. Same connection. Plug that into the section under the 4way splitter and all will charge. I’m sure you have it sorted by now but for anyone that comes across this here you go :)

Try this, take them apart, it's fiddly!. with a hot Soldering iron quickly unsolder the main large Red positive wire at the battery, not the board !- wait 10 seconds, minimum , resolder again. The battery should reboot !!

@@4gtcs use a multimeter to measure the voltage. Lipo batteries can only be discharged a certain amount before they start to get damaged. if the voltage is under 3.5v then the cell is likely damaged by over discharging. if the voltage is below 3v I consider them dead, there is no point trying to recharge them anymore as it wouldn't work and is dangerous. Cells are also considered dead if they are starting to bulge.

The same thing is happening with two of my batteries man, I took one of them completely apart too, and as far as I can tell there's nothing visually wrong with them. From what I can tell power is not running through the charging circuit at all. Imma keep testing some different solutions, but I'll drop another comment if I find out anything.

    • @MemsisTv
      @MemsisTv  4 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @MrRoomba2321

@@MemsisTv Alright I think I've found a possible reason. From what I've been told, the recharging circuit in the batteries will activate a failsafe when the voltage drops below a certain level. The chances of the batteries not being able to recharge again will increase the more the batteries are completely drained. The solution I will probably be testing out sometime next week is this. You'll need to charge the batteries directly to get them to a power level that will reactivate the charging circuit. I just bought a 25 dollar lipo charging bank and I will see if that works. Unfortunately to do this solution you will need to pry open the batteries which is not the easiest thing to do. If this solution works I'll send out another reply.

Alright, Just tested it out with the cheapest charger I could find on ebay and that seems like it's working! I got the lights to turn on and blink which is a great sign. However it's still too soon to say if that will completely fix the issue, I'll do a little more testing and if that actually worked completely then I'll post a youtube video showing the whole process.
