It was funny... I played a set with the piano bevore that song and then i took my guitar and I was like, hello my freind, oh you dont have piano keys? Im surprised...and then I remembered...its my guitar :D
@@songsofsandydenny Haha, instruments have a way of reminding us how to work with them. When I first picked up my guitar at the beginning of the year after some time off, it gently guided me back into the relationship. Glad your musical friend remembered you!

@@davidmaddaford930 I agree 100 percent! When it came to the question how to arrange th songs with her lost lyrics, I decided to keep them very simple. No strings, no big band...just an acoustic version with guitar/ piano and some light other instruments. Sandys daughter did the booklet, I hope you get to see it, its a piece of art with Sandy's doodles we dicovered in her diaries :)
It's a delight to discover another great German singer. (1990 - Ute Lemper performing in 'The Wall'). And with a wonderful empathy with Sandy Denny's work. Carla delivers her mellow sounds most fastidiously, and with delicate finishing due to her expert mouth / lips shaping. I think that Sandy and Carla could have dueted beautifully!

But at the same time I think its important to bring her music to a (younger) audience and I want to help keeping her music alive!

You have your own unique voice and the two versions of Sandy's songs you have posted so far show exquisite taste and sensitivity and in my opinion capture her essence and spirit. Sandy Denny herself was extremely unsure of her own songwriting ability, which of course she had no reason to be.

I really did try to listen carfully to her phrasing, breathing and her gracenotes many hours again and again trying to find my path, recording my voice, listening to her again...It was a bit like taking a Sandy Denny masterclass - and it still is!
this the video where i first saw you. i just listened to this song by fairport 45 yr reunion. i think it was simon nicol who did some great songs with swarbrick. too many people go from tobacco like swarb and bert jansche. music gets me through the day

I dont do concerts where I have to exclude or divide people and so the only stage I have (besides the private concerts) is TH-cam. And I never would have thought how much impact not performing has on my stage personality...So thank you again for the nice words, I am thankfull about the opportunity to share Sandys music this way with you all out there and friendly feedback is helpful in many ways!

@@songsofsandydenny Thank you for your reply. I hope you are getting your health back. I was really sick late last September and into October and was very weak. All I wanted to eat was popsicles and small bowls of soup. Gradually got better and am fine now. Yes, I enjoy Anne Brigg's music too but just preferred Sandy's cover of this song. Look forward to hearing your cover when you feel up to it. Thanks.
