Because he pretty much won from the beginning with the Robot Pirate Takeover, capturing Rayman from the beginning, taking away his powers, gathering up the lifeblood which are the lums and escapes almost killing Rayman with the Grolgoth Self Destructing, we'll never get a villain like him again, he was also meant to be taken seriously, not all villains are defeated by endgame
This song is so awesome. Whenever I hear it I get so pumped up. I remember vividly how the song kicks in and Rayman slowly turns his head to see Razorbeard is still alive in the grolgoth.
I think the Rabbids & Mr. Dark are the main villains of the Rayman franchise for 1 the Rabbids took over Rayman's home and stole his entire franchise that's just messed up and Mr. Dark almost won he even took Rayman's powers in the final battle (he got them back but still) also they've appeared in more games than Razorbeard has so that's also a plus
I know this is a 4 year old comment, but two people have dug it, so I'll say my thoughts anyway. It's like combined power of all bosses, who have given their powers to Razorbeard, who is facing his final stand. That's why I love it implemented in final boss theme :)
Great Escape and its "child", Revolution, for me are the best Rayman games ever made. I'm sorry, but Origins and Legends may be all beautiful and nice, but its been years since the angst and danger I felt in this game have been missing. We need Rayman like this, not like idiots jumping and running with rabbits as background.
Try the first Rayman if you want to know what is hard :p But i absolutely consider R2 Revolution the best rayman game ever. Has a lot to do with the depth of the world, the implied darkness and the mystery that the world is shrouded in.
I have the first game of Rayman :p. And I didn't say hard, I meant games with a serious plot and some drama. Nowadays, the world is about to end? No problem! A bunch of idiots laughing all their way to grave will save it!
And better yet, this was probably the best version of the game, with additional bosses, new central hubs between levels, far better level design (not that original ones were bad, though), and some new characters. They really gave their all on this one.
I've always grown up with the N64 Version of Rayman 2. Even to this day, it's one of these huge pages of my heart. But then the EPICNESS of this version of the music makes me WISH I grew up with the Dreamcast version just as well! At least I always grew up playing the demo of Sanctuary of Water & Ice. :)
@KirbyY15 Rayman 2 had the perfect approach, being appealing to kids without having the kids feeling like kids because they are aware they are playing a kids game. they game treats it's audiance with respect, giving dark theatrical tones and deep, varied, yet simple gameplay. it's ideas are subtle and well communicated, with the remarkably clear frame work of "there's a bad guy fucking up the world because he's a dick, you might want to stop him." It's unsurprising 3 could not surpass it.
Rayman Revolution also had a hub world, a few bonus bosses (including a fourth guardian) a few extra levels, some bonus minigames and an actual point to all the lums you were collecting (to buy new powers)
so rayman is fighting a giant lady bug robot whit laser foots missiles and its being controlled by a robot with a razor as beard .......... dang thats epic
Imagine a remake of this game with 2018 technology... Graphics in HD with 4k resolution. MAYBE some NEW stages... After all... it's been over 19 years now... almost 20... Sadly, Ubisoft abandoned Rayman I guess cuz last rayman game (legends) was in 2013.
@@JordanViknar I highly doubt that Rayman 4 will be made. Sure Ancel has said that he wants to make Rayman 4 and that there needs to be a fourth game, but it's up to Ubisoft to decide if they want to make 4 since they own the Rayman IP, also considering how Legends didn't preform that well I doubt Ubisoft will be willing to put money towards Rayman 4.
That's one hard final boss ... I could never beat him as a kid, and even the 18 years old me struggled with him ... Probably the hardest Rayman boss ever
@@Faceless_time_traveler Maybe they made it easier on the 3DS... Or just the 3ds controls are better to do it? I also know if you go to the VERY top of the arena while holding multiple keys (on 3DS, it was L+R(+Y?) but since you are on pc you don't care) you have a secret mini level and at the end of it, you get infinite ammo and the ball is green. If you die, you lose the green ball and have to redo the secret mini level...
Youndo Tbh I did as well. the game was rather dark. It was nothing like the first. I imagined a 3d game similar to the first one. what I received was a dark twist. I freaking loved it!
Only N64, PC, Dreamcast, PS2, DS and 3DS have the Gibberish. PS1 is exclusively actual Voice Over, While PS2 has Voice overs it also has the option to use gibberish.
All my life I played rayman 2 on the n64 and I always have (and still do) think it is the best version, although to deny that this song is much better in this version would be a crime.
@KirbyY15 I'd agree with you on the first playthrough, the game throws new mechanics at you constantly, which forces you to change your approach at every turn, but if we take any aspect out of context with the rest of they game, they are all very simple, and are thus easily dealt with in successive playthroghs. Every boss, even Razorbeard, has a pattern, what makes them easy is that these patterns are very short and quick to figure out. Lum collecting is a simple matter of dedution.
@Darkbulborb Rayman 2:Revolution is a remake. It has things like new enemies, redone music, new bosses, new stages, a hub world, fist upgrades, you keep your ability to fly when over lava, etc.
@Darkbulborb Also, existing maps have added difficulty and details and stuff added in. For example the flying shell bit in the prison ship actually has robot pirates scurrying to and fro actively trying to kill you.
I never even knew about the other versions until I started looking up the music on the internet, I had no idea the other versions had gibberish for voices.
Thr flying cannon balls that would go after you while you carried the keg to break the generator to save ly scared me as a kid and didn't played it for a while
@KirbyY15 The final boss is pants, i can kill him in over 3 minutes, just barely after he states "Your lava bath is ready!" for the first time, and with getting hit or crashing once, and i'm not the type to do no death runs, i can't even beat Mario galaxy without dieing XD. It really isn't hard at all once you get past the controlls. It's a complete pushover if you play it on dreamcast.
I got stuck with rayman 2 on pc. Came with a very rare vidoe of an unsuccessful season of a rayman tv series and everyone spoke French in the game. God knows how it made it to a New Zealand general store bargain bin...
Everyone loves villains like Reflux, Mr. Dark, hell even the Rabbids. But Razorbeard will always be my favorite Rayman villain

Same.
not only he was a pain if you weren't prepared but also you don't even get to see him fall, instead he sees you explode along with the ship
Well, Mr. Dark took all of Raymans Powers away at the Rayman 1 Climax and then almost killed Rayman
I still prefer andre, but razor was cool too

HyperTwister- can you explain the difference between the great escape and revolution
Well i think the third one is better but thats probably because i grew up with that one instead
