Tom R I don’t blame you. Even though I’m 26 now and haven’t played this game for years, seeing Reflux grow to a colossal beast made my skin crawl. The subtle music didn’t help with the intensity of the fights.
At first when he was growing bigger, I honestly thought it looked like he was going to explode or something. Like the fight was alrdy over. But then only to find out he just turned to Godzilla-size......yeah, I got surprised there XD
This boss just kept going and going, and going, and going and going "here is my final form inside of my final final form, and inside this final final final form is my real FINAL form"

What I love about this theme, is not necessarily how good the melody itself is on its own, but how intense it sounds. The other final battle themes gave off a much different feeling. Mr Dark = A fittingly dark and mysterious tune, that fits as an energetic and challenging final battle. Razorbeard = An intense battle against a giant mech, stopping Razorbeard's last ditch effort in a final confrontation. Reflux = You already fought this guy before, and he was already extremely powerful and had very impressive and strong looking spells. But he's now become the most powerful character in the entire franchise by a damn landslide, and this guy will probably end up being able to destroy the entire world if we don't stop him. This dude needs to die, and he needs to die, now.
I like the use of the heroic powerup trumpet jingle that the 1st phase has (yea I know that in the end, it's just a common hero sound but whatever. It's been a way to tell that Rayman has the greater power now). At 1st (0:10) it sounds like you are ready to fight and you'll confidently put your best effort, then after a long fight (6:23), it starts to sound careful and unsure, for the battle is too tough, and at the end (7:11) when the jingle gets loud for a desperate final effort, and shortly after for the last time it comes right before the end, it whimpers as if all the power you had was not enough and now is overwhelmed by the greater force. It makes me feel that reflux really is powering up every second, and the trumpets getting more desperate make Rayman feel like getting weaker/overwhelmed.

@@metanoeo4 weird timing to bring up religion but okay, yeah believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and thus join His Catholic Church where we receive the sacraments.
@@theregent3397 no. What Catholicism preaches is quite the opposite of Salvation as a free gift to those who believe in Jesus as the Only Way to God and not their works. Catholicism preaches works for Salvation while Jesus says that whoever thrists can come to Him, and He will provide endless water. He who drinks of His water shall never thirst again. Do you believe that Salvation is by grace through faith in Christ alone so that the glory goes to God alone? Amen?

A villain/boss that no other game can match, seriously. Reflux was one the most powerful, terrifying, most intimidating villain/boss of all time. Think about it, you defeated this guy once and he listened to a lum that completed took over his body, reflux was so defeated after rayman beat him that he wanted revenge, he gave his life to Andre. Which is why he died at the end.

Damn, this is how you do a final boss battle. Awesome music, unexpected stronger phases, a variety of game modes and a pretty lengthy battle. Shame people care more about Mario or Sonic because they're more popular...
In Indonesia, Barely anyone knows about Rayman, mostly people recognized Rayman because of he is a skin on a game called Growtopia. Might be I am the only one who really is a fan of Rayman from Indonesia.
Mario only has lame bosses. Sonic had cool ones, but after unleashed and before frontiers there was just absolutely nothing cool except for mania. Rayman just continuously kicked ass with his bosses; consistently, to say the least.

Now this is a final boss battle. It makes good use of almost all of the game's mechanics: strafing, jumping, gliding, the powerups (although no Vortex), the FPS sections that were introduced in the prior level, and even the grimace. And the boss just keeps getting stronger with every phase, even when you think he's down and out, which makes actually destroying him at the end all the more satisfying. And to top it off, you have this incredibly dramatic music that also increases in dramatic energy as the fight goes on, until finally coming down when it's just you and André. It's a shame that they didn't even try to follow it up in Origins, but then again, how could you top it?

Acts 16:29-31 KJV The Gospel is simple: 1) we are all sinners and no one can live a perfect life without ever sinning at all. 2) Christ is the solution to our problem because HE is the man-God who NEVER EVER sinned. Every word He spoke and every deed he made were perfect. 3) He died in our place so that He would pay for all men's wrongdoings and so that everyone who believes in Him alone to be saved (and nothing else), have His righteousness imputed unto them! What did we do to gain this? NOTHING!! Because it is a gift of God, and gifts cannot be earned, nor are they merited. If you trust in Jesus Christ and believe that He resurrected, after dying on the cross and being buried... you shall be saved!
I remember it took me 4 days to beat this boss when I was a kid. I’d SO love to see a remix of Ascended K’naaren Warrior. That very beginning part with the synths (I think synths) should have been repeated a few times; you only hear it once and that’s very unfortunate...

I wish they’d have used the hoodoo sorcerer song for this battle because it sounds like a song of finality and is dark and somewhat sorrowful like reflux’s transformation

We need more Dark Rayman too he's one of my favorite Villains.
@@katelynthewhitewerewolf6376agree
It makes me feel that reflux really is powering up every second, and the trumpets getting more desperate make Rayman feel like getting weaker/overwhelmed.
by 1st phase, I mean everything before 7:37

What did we do to gain this? NOTHING!! Because it is a gift of God, and gifts cannot be earned, nor are they merited.
Or in legends. The legends boss was also lame.
Fully agree
But I have to admit that this bossfight is hard playing it as a kid, now I'm 20 and damn yeah I did it first try but damn it wasn't easy

i couldn't beat the final level of the game for several years. not kidding. you know, the one where you have to climb this tower to the top? always died at the balloons part and then ragequit. until one day, i beat it, and then got through the final boss in one go. so this track makes me feel accomplished to this day

I couldn't get through the final FLIGHT when I was a kid so I rage quit too.
But I just beat the game yesterday and It was EZ probably because I used the PC version and I wasn't I 5 year old :T
I remember being stuck at that particular level too when I was younger. Remember the big room you start in at first? And you have to get to the giant rotating tower in the room where you fight some Hoodstormers (the flying hoodlum types)? I didn't know how to target and hit em with lateral punches, so I couldn't defeat them. I died constantly...until I figured how to do the lateral punches. Then it was no sweat :)

@@rusalkaschwagelin8075 Hey, I actually remember being stuck in one particular Knarren level too. It was a level where you are in a cave. right at the beginning where you start, you are supposed to go right and jump up a small wall, kinda like you said. You had to do this in order to get to a higher ground and get past a group of Knarrens nearby.
But since I didn't know what to do first, I tried to get past them on foot.....It never went well xD

What did we do to gain this? NOTHING!! Because it is a gift of God, and gifts cannot be earned, nor are they merited. If you trust in Jesus Christ and believe that He resurrected, after dying on the cross and being buried... you shall be saved! 💙💙

The Gospel is simple:
1) we are all sinners and no one can live a perfect life without ever sinning at all. If you trust in Jesus Christ and believe that He resurrected, after dying on the cross and being buried... you shall be saved!💚💚💚

Reflux is kind of a alien enemy you'll see in a horror game, but the thing is, It's not even originally from a horror game which makes it absolutely creepy
I mean, you could say the same of the whole level of the desert of the Knaaren and the Leptys tower. Those really felt like you stepped accidentally on a different game

Reflux was the hardest boss in Rayman 3. But he had some badass music to go with the fights against him.
I remember specifically when I got to this boss my dad saying "I hope this doesn't give you nightmares" reflux may have been big, bad, and scary but I bested him and scared andre back into a red lum! Still. I respect both the fight against reflux and the design of his character, one of the characters i draw is inspired in a way from him!
how did you SCARE a black lum into a red one? i thought it was the other way around.
@@I-VisiBomb-I lol you're right. Just remember him saying he was scared before Rayman does his face that makes black lums turn back into red and assumed he was scared.
@@vicariousmonarch it's rayman's grimace that makes andre laugh and turn back into a red lum, he was scared cause he didn't wanna turn back into a red lum with essentially no free will, to be used by rayman and probably other inhabitants of the glade of dreams as essentially a life source
damn that got deep LMFAO
also yes red lums getting scared turns them into black lums, as demonstrated throughout the game and in the ending as well
