I am so jealous. I'm 75 years old. I love photography. I capture images and I pick out the ones that I like and display them on my web site. I also put them on face book and viewbug. When people tell me how good the image is it makes me feel good but that is not the reason for my photography. The reason is for me. This is what I like to do. I only wish that iw 45 instead of 75. this equipment that I have today is way beyond what I had in my 20's, 30's and 40's. If I could have done and had the nerve to live your lifestyle I don't know what could have happened. In 2019 I drove a big circle around the country going to national parks, state parks and other points of interest. It took me 5 months and now I don't think that I could do it again. I really enjoyed your video. Please keep it up and let the rest of us live through your vision.

I've watched so many gear and how-to videos on TH-cam, that after a while it gets redundant and repetitive. Videos like this, about the lifestyle of a photographer, are truly the best content.
Jealous...we have traveled the world....lived full time in a motorhome for 3 years.... wished we had never sold it....but now at 80 years old not many adventures remain....but I still take my D850 with me everywhere.....Loved your video Andy...it was great....

I loved every second of this film: the way Andy and Erica opened up about their struggles, doubts, and what they cherish about life; and the breathtaking beauty this film captured.
The lifestyle looks amazing... My wife and I bought an RV a few years ago, sold our home in LA and travelled cross country with our dog and cat (yes, the cat to!). It's 10x harder than you think, the sacrifice is great. Most of your time is spent with logistics, planning and problem solving, and living in discomfort. No heat, no hot shower, not enough space, and long... very long drives, to name a few. The rewards are the time in such beautiful places and amazing photo ops, but to be honest, it's crazy tough. I admire Andy and his family for making the commitment, but again, it's TOUGH! After an adventurous year, we sold the RV and have settled on the east coast.
Nice film documenting a lifestyle as well as the passion of photography. I thought the scene about spending time to get to place that didn't work out well photographically was a good touch of realism. It's something that happens to anyone who does a lot of photography and is part of the experience but doesn't often show up in videos like this. I've found that those times also have value too -- sometimes a place might not have the right combination of elements to make an epic photo, but is still beautiful, and those are the times I can just sit around and enjoy the view without running around and worrying if the lighting is going to change too fast for me to keep up with ;)
When in college, in the high sierras, I wanted to shave my head and walk the pacific-crest-trail. Didn't. I think you've achieved that "life." .. as others have said, inspiring.
The life many of us think/dream about having. I especially enjoyed your description of shooting for yourself and getting lost in the beauty and how photography opens your eyes to even more of the beauty. That's a lot of how I feel. The rest of life just kind of disappears for a while.
Yes, to recognize your true calling while still young is a blessing. Go for it! I love him asking himself "do I have the right settings". The kids will have beautiful memories. To paraphrase Andy, photography is about time and place. Best wishes!

This is a nice breath of fresh air and a great motivator to all the creators. It made me want to produce a film of my own. I have visited all of these locations and getting a different perspective was fantastic. This is the first year that I didn't go chase the fall leaves and I am feeling like I'm missing out. This month has been good for work, and I have not had time to get out and travel like I used to. I think the production for this was amazing. Great job! Makes me want to get back out there and shoot.

What an amazing journey....would give it all up in a shot if I had something to sell & get away from all the madness. I live in a small town in England & it is still too big for me...too close to London for my liking....too many shallow people. Love Scotland but too cold for me with my health issues...whatever reservations you have trust me you are doing the right thing for you & your family & what amazing memories for your babies:) Keep enjoying & thank you for sharing:)!
I would love to travel across country for a few months and capture the landscape and small cities and country towns, not sure about full time yet. However, I do have a close friend who wants to retire, sell his home, and travel across country in a Van life similar to this. He watched some of the "Vancity Vanlife" videos on You Tube for inspiration. Wondering if you saw those? He takes photos also but as an advanced hobby in his case. Great video to watch and uniquely beautiful locations. Thanks for posting Andy Best!
