I know a little about Locardi´s story. Both sell all and embrace this life style. It seems very romantic, one of those experiences that worth living. Unfortunately I´m that type of man that is too attached to family and friends despite having a huge need of taking next step on my photography world. Thanks for this amazing video and also to the Locardis for letting us dream and experience places where perhaps we will never be. Big thumbs up!
Great video! I wish I was able to sell all my things and live this lifestyle. Keep up the good work Elia and Naomi! Your work has been an inspiration to travel more and push the boundaries of my abilities. I may not be able to travel the world, but I do find myself getting out where I can. I also enjoyed your landscape tutorial you did with Fstoppers. I haven't finished watching the whole thing yet, but I like what I have seen so far and can't imagine the time it took to create!
That's pretty cool and certainly offers things that would otherwise be pretty tough to pull off but at the same time, there's nothing wrong with having a place to call home. One of my favorite things about traveling is at the end of the journey when I get to go back home to my family, my community, my surroundings, my life..my home.
This is a lovely story and video. I wish I had the courage and time to do that when I was young. I hope that I still could have the chance to do it later in my life. Hope it is not too late.
Those soundtracks in this video just perfectly matched ! They just enhance the feeling that this video want to convey to the audiences~ Can anyone just state down all the soundtracks in this video? Appreciate for that!
But wait - why does the Feature Flickr Editorial section link to a TH-cam video? You guys have a great video platform, why not have people see it there?
Elia is an ambassador for Fuji! But he uses a Nikon D810 as well. Check out the BTS on Fstoppers on Photographing the World tutorial. It's pretty awesome!
my friends mom was a traveling photographer for national geographic and she gets pay checks from them for her work. it was basically a salary type thing.
It may seems like a "dream life", but this lifestyle also has its caveats. People who traveled a lot know that airports and hotel rooms quickly lose their lust. You can do it for a while, but there comes a time that you say... enough... I love the final thought: "Man, I should've gone for it" 🥰
Great Story. It takes a lot of planning and commitment to do this. With todays technology you don’t need a store front to run a business. As long as you can connect to the world and are happy to live out of a suitcase why not.
I would say "ditto" to comments from Villegas24 that I see below. What a great way to live your life, or even part of it! My wife and I have done some travel, but only as tourists, not a lifestyle...Good for you guys.
I want to have my own camper van and travel the world. I dont want to fly, I want to drive around from place to place myself. But, can I go overseas with it and do that? instead of flying and renting cars?
I just discovered you guys. and frankly this is not about photography or world travel. It's a love story. but warning. DONT HAVE KIDS. then you are grounded. LOL. but have fun meantime
Interesting but a bit confusing. Given Smugmug is all about photography, whats the focus?. The adventure, their photography, the documentary photography. Much of the best photography is via drone, I dont see them useing drones, are they?.
I will never understand how they can support themselves financially. Can you really live like that out of landscape photography? I barely struggle to get my Instagram page known by people (currently having 600 followers). Sometimes I think that something is going wrong (maybe it's only me).
Please, don't use the word "homeless" to describe your situation. You are exactly the opposite. Extremely privileged. Say you chose to sell your possessions so you can travel the world following your passion, but "homeless", I don't think so. Living the dream is what I would call it.
Actual title: "Do you have the GUTS to live like this?" .... Appropriate title: "Do you have the MONEY to live your fantasy life?". In most people's cases: No.
No, if you have your will there is always a way to do what you want. Most people cant make the decisions to up and leave friends and family for years at a time, ot have the personality ready to handle the unknowing all the time. Im a full time traveler and havent been home in over 2 years now. A lot of people say they want to do it, but complain after a double layover and that they had to sleep in an airport for days. It helps if you can live as a minimalist. Always easier said than done.
@ ibjc ubu "Actual title: "Do you have the GUTS to live like this?" .... Appropriate title: "Do you have the MONEY to live your fantasy life?". In most people's cases: No." Thank you! I get so tired of hearing, "If you want to do this, just do it!" It's not so easy. It does take a lot of money, even just to get started! And many people don't have skills like photography or film making that can be done anywhere, in order to make a living.
Truly inspirational and brought a tear to my eye. Can't even comprehend what kind of sacrifices you would have to make to do this.

"There's no longer a day to day routine."
LIFE GOAL.
This is a lovely story and video. I wish I had the courage and time to do that when I was young. I hope that I still could have the chance to do it later in my life. Hope it is not too late.
4:00 - Did you put the camera on the conveyor belt? :D
Nice video, I wish you guys good luck & a lot of adventures and memorable shots.
And by "nice" I mean "'terrific" :)
Those soundtracks in this video just perfectly matched ! They just enhance the feeling that this video want to convey to the audiences~

Appreciate for that!
Inspirational. Thank you for sharing.
I enjoyed your video. Awesome.
I wanted to share in a local group but they denied it.?
But wait - why does the Feature Flickr Editorial section link to a TH-cam video? You guys have a great video platform, why not have people see it there?
This is an ad.
True Inspiration ... !
Your journey/story is full of inspiration which matches your work, thank you for sharing
I see a lot of Fuji cameras ;-)
I would suspect they are sponsored by Fuji. I use Fuji cameras and love them.
Hooked on Photography Well, he's an official Fuji X Photographer ;)
Elia is an ambassador for Fuji! But he uses a Nikon D810 as well. Check out the BTS on Fstoppers on Photographing the World tutorial. It's pretty awesome!

He said a while ago that since the xpro 2 he doens't feel the need to use his d810!

So, were they also travelling with a drone? A lot of aerial shots

They're really inspiring!
How do they support themselves financially? Through their photography?
my friends mom was a traveling photographer for national geographic and she gets pay checks from them for her work. it was basically a salary type thing.
Monoman03 I was asking myself the same question
Impressive! Well done..
Moving!!!
Stunning
Great video! I absolutely love Cinqueterre. What camera was used to shoot this video?
Looks like a Fuji Xt-1

This is so beautiful. And I remember some of the locations from Eric & Kyde's videos! (Other TH-camrs who do travel vids.)
I wish it was possible to live a lifestyle similar to this while also owning a small house in your home country to return to periodically.
I can relate so much to what you guys are doing, been living the same kind of life myself for the last 7 1/2 years
🙏 🙏 🙏
Great respect and love.

Crazy Video, you made me Dream and see life in another way,!!

I have agree that Japan is unique
wow!...loved it...life re-defined....just one thought....what happens when you two decide on having a family.....what happens then,...?
I have found only a few places in Asia where climbing endless stairs to get shots isn't required.

Well you have 1 subscriber to your youtube page. It can only go up.
Can you earn a living like that?
Did he just put wasabi in the sushi like that??? Trust me it gives you a headache for a second.

I do believe that they were at the brink of bankruptcy then decided to do this :)
It's work. They earn money doing this. The question is - what are you willing to sacrifice to live a totally different lifestyle.
I'm sorry, but that's bullshit :D
i wish this wasn't so corny, enjoyed it otherwise.
Great job! now go and make kids :)
and buy a house, get a real job, spend money on useless things, became a copy of anyone else, feed the capitalism.
Like the capitalism that allowed you to buy the computer or phone you're typing this from? LOL!
Your comment is pointless...
Everything you buy today will feed the capitalism, even your underwear.
Everyone doesn't need to have kids. The world is over populated as it is.
So why are you here?
They may not have possessions -- maybe - but they definitely have not given up on the money part.
I will take your money if it doesn't make you happy.
Are you guys jewish???
