I tried this out. Whenever it's time for a break and I watch an episode of anime, they usually end it in a cliffhanger so when I get back to studying, that's the only thing in my mind lol. so I just end up wanting to binge it. For those with this problem, maybe a traditional or slightly modified pomodoro could work then leave some time in the end (like an hour maybe) dedicated to watching anime. that way, you'd look forward when the day ends and sit back and relax. Animedoro ain't for everyone especially for bingers but we anime fans will always find a way to watch anime :)
Agreed! Same to me. I'm not good at interrupting myself from doing something that i enjoy... Once i start watching or playing, i'm not stopping until i'm too tired to go on.... What i've been doing instead is studying while a "Study with me" vídeo is playing. It feels like having a chill company without the risk of chatting and getting distracted. Once the video is done (usually 1-2hours) so is my cicle. Then i eat/stretch, i choose another Study with me and keep working. Once i've done 3-4 cicles... I'm free to binge watch or play without guilt or any need to stop whatsoever....

I personally think pomodoro is for people who can't stay focused for long period of time, overwhelmed by the idea of sitting for 1 hour for studying and never actually starting studying. So you just sit down for 25 minutes, then if you keep doing the cycles you end up studying for 2 hours and this is better than the most! And this 5 minute breaks does not have to be fun, I just go to kitchen and have a glass of water, or make some tea, or go pee :D So its just a quick refreshment between heavy readings. It is a way to keep studying for longer periods with often but quick breaks. I can understand why this is not for many people, but if you can study for 1 hour straight you don't need pomodoro anyway :) This method is also good tho, but I doubt that I could go back to studying after watching anime haha :D maybe it is better to do 4 pomodoro cycles and then in the long break watching anime. so its pomo-anime-doro technique :D

anime was literally the superior motivation for me during high school and i was doing this method unintentionally which really affected my grades on a positive way 💯
I don't really time myself while doing work/study sessions, but rather I split it into parts so that a heavy weight will be lifted off my chest when I do my leisure activity. When I finish an hour worth of task or when I feel like I can't go on doing it anymore, I set a 30-min timer to read fics. When the timer goes off, I don't immediately stop reading, but rather finish that chapter before getting back to work. Before switching between these tasks though, I always assign a thing to do (unless my task for the day is over) or to read so that I'll have a thing to look forward to upon switching. I'm only 1/3 past the vid and I'm already rambling gsjahsjaa
i really needed this today as i was torn between forcing myself to study or taking the weekend off after a hectic study week. i did neither and ended up feeling bad about not studying. we should not feel guilty about not overworking ourselves all the time. thank you for the reminder.

I literally did this last night while studying/writing code, and didn’t know this was a thing!!! Sweet 🙌 ALSO DID IT WITH NARUTO IT’S SO PERFECT FOR THIS METHOD.
Your video was engaging especially you added an anime reference! LOL! I've been using animedoro for a while and I find out was very useful and balance out the time between study and watch anime. Honestly, I think it's the best technique because you want to give yourself a longer break right after study rather than just study for a long period of time (which that even more stressful and overwhelmed). And also, I try to be careful about what anime should I choose during my break because sometimes I can be binge-watching on what's going to happen next. Like for example, I'm planning to watch Jujutsu Kaisen during my break but.. I don't want to get started on 2 things: first, the anime hasn't finished until next week (which my midterm starts next week), and second, I'm afraid I might click on "the next episode" and might get distracted on what was going on. So I decided to push that during spring break and watch the whole season. So instead, I replaced it with one piece filler eps which something that is not important to the plot. I'm sorry I wrote a little bit long but I hope you enjoyed it lol!
yes! toxic productive , I definitely think that this make sense, I see this a lot on people that are trying to study near me. I loved this video, helped me a lot !

aw thank you!! I usually do if I’m not doing anything too intense but if I really need to concentrate on tricky questions I’ll prob turn off my music and focus in
tbh I’m curious to see what research says about listening to music while studying, would you want to see that as a video??
@@AlphieYip yes pls!! i did read some articles before but was just wondering if it varies from person to person too, based on how my friends and I have different ways to cope with long studying periods HAHA thank you in advance if you're planning to share about it in the futureee
I'm convinced you have the best anime add on references
🙈 thank youuu
Seeing the context just struck to me😂❤️
Love your vids man:)
I've tried this with kdramas! At first I was not able to control myself, but i downloaded Digitox, a screen time limiting app and I've set the limit for 20 min. I had my sister add a pin so when I reach my limit, Digitox locks the app and I can go back to work. (btw I'm an Android user but from what I know apple has a built-in screen time) 🙌
anime was literally the superior motivation for me during high school and i was doing this method unintentionally which really affected my grades on a positive way 💯
I don't really time myself while doing work/study sessions, but rather I split it into parts so that a heavy weight will be lifted off my chest when I do my leisure activity.
I'm only 1/3 past the vid and I'm already rambling gsjahsjaa
i really needed this today as i was torn between forcing myself to study or taking the weekend off after a hectic study week. i did neither and ended up feeling bad about not studying. we should not feel guilty about not overworking ourselves all the time. thank you for the reminder.
keep your head up and make sure you’re looking after yourself too ❤️
this video got me motivated THANK YOU, I've been binging on anime ever since quarantine started and it honestly kept me from having a productive day, a guilty pleasure you might say. But after watching this video I wanna rethink all that now and put this addiction into motivation ✨
Omg your mic is on FORK (literally) (on point)
thank you for this! especially nowadays everyday feels like the same and it gets pretty unmotivated. Good luck on ur med school!
I like how all medtubers watch each other's content LOL. Back to the Anking grind!
Does he have his Mic on a fork? 😂
I have ADHD so the pomodoro technique helps a little, but I prefer this technique as I'm always distracted and unsettled for the first 10 minutes of studying.
This gives me the instant reward feeling too!
I didn't know this actually exists when I somewhat had done this. When I was studying for my nursing licensure exam, I did review for about an hour or so then I see to it that I will be able to watch an episode or two of my preferred anime or korean drama. But sometimes I ended up binge-watching or sleeping (guilty as charged ^_^) Hahahaha so glad this actually works. Thank you so much. Ganbatte kudasai! Fighting!
Your videos just never disappoint, do they? 🔥
thank you 🙏
Thinking about it, this would be a perfect way to learn Japanese! Doing the hard parts (grammar, vocab, etc. studies), then relaxing with some comprehensive input!
Yeah I just found this method and I study Japanese so this is perfect to me
@@user-hs8uw4hn3n I just started learning Japanese, trying to learn Hiragana to start.
Could you tell me how well the method worked if you try it?
@@simplysableye6505 well, I will be testing this method tomorrow or next week, so maybe I'll update you! Good luck on learning the alphabet, after you learn it and keep learning Japanese somehow it just makes part of you and becomes so natural
@@user-hs8uw4hn3n Right? I started to learn Russian, and now I can read Russian letters really well, to the point I won't realise they are Russian until I think about it. I hope I can go even further than that with Japanese ^^
@@simplysableye6505 wow, you study Russian. I wish I could learn it in the future, how is it going? Is it that hard?
I look at the other videos below you're video and literally think to my self"I could watch them bt nothing is as enjoyable or interesting as this one... " Since I love anime so much..
I have one final semester to go and I'm definitely trying this. THANK YOU
I might going to use this for my coloring session but with my anime choice: Uta no Prince-sama
Absolute banger of video 🦾
thank you 🙏
I literally split screen anime while doing homework, this seems a lot more productive lol will try!
Thanks a lot for sharing your experience with animedoro.I just watched josh chen's vdo...nd now u shared yours...and I was like:
Man if a med student can do this...y not me!!!(who's just in high school, with comparatively very less work and pressure).
And special thanks for sharing the concept of "toxic productivity".
I'm gonna give this a try!!
this video *feels* clean
Can you please make a video on how to concentrate that long
I love how useful the fork is!
I think the fact that I’m studying Japanese that this anime technique will really, really benefit me
Fun Fact : He Cuts The Tomatoes For His Breakfast With The Video So He Can Complete Both Task 😂🔥
DUDE, THIS IS GONNA CHANGE MY WHOLE STUDY LIFE!!!!!! THANK YOUUUU
Really loved the video. The content and quality is on point!
I loved the editing and music of the video. Seriously so pretty and satisfying
Incredible video 🤩
I honestly didn't know this was an actual technique. I used to do the same before I became a weeb but instead of anime it was run bts episodes or youtube videos lol. Now that I watch anime now, binging them to be specific the 'technique' was long forgotten till I came across this video. I luuuuv this video and the mic.
Thanks for sharing this...
I had been doing a similar thing before but I thought maybe I used to waste my time so I stopped but seeing u doing it brings back the memories of when studying wasn't tedious I just now have to time myself.
All the best in med school btw.
Fork as your mic holder
*Already genius*
Thanks a lot for the vid!!! I think I can do this and instead of watching anime, I’d watch k-dramas, haha
Studying became much joyful than the last decade
This is great. Finally feel like my days have be more productive!
Ahhh and that's it, I've got to do it. It's about time I watch FMA too. I've been watching Jujutsu kaisen, highly recommend, new seasons of Dr stone and the promised Neverland. Also recommend. And watching one piece which is soooooooooo awesome but ye time to watch FMA and try out this animedoro. Feeling motivated ✨
I literally did this last night while studying/writing code, and didn’t know this was a thing!!! Sweet 🙌
ALSO DID IT WITH NARUTO IT’S SO PERFECT FOR THIS METHOD.
Great for an Indian high schooler who has entrances 2 years later !
yes! toxic productive , I definitely think that this make sense, I see this a lot on people that are trying to study near me. I loved this video, helped me a lot !
I love the idea and i do it sometimes but it's not good to do that in many days because (study + watch tv) is a big hit to the eyes
I did this some time ago in 8th grade...I didn't know what I was doing and I believed that Attack on Titan helped me pass😂
1:15 i loved that plant, so different
How did I miss this handsome guy's vid
starting my animedoro session by taking a break first
This was great. Glad you did it because I wanted to see someone trying out Josh's technique.
I can relate a lot to your final point.
Awesome video and noice technique ❤
