I also got perfect SQA (Scottish qualifications :>) in my National 5's (basically the first level of actual qualifications), but I experienced some severe burnout and really did let my work absolutely consume me sometimes and had really little time for my own thing - which was tough, although between new year and early summer before exams I had a big mental shift and was able to space my work out much more healthily - and while I'm already coping better with my Highers than I was coping last year, I know it's something I can endlessly improve and I'm constantly looking for more ways to work efficiently/effectively and still have time to do what I love so I don't get burnout. Honestly, it is a lot easier since this year I'm only doing 5 subjects (the max you can do this year) and except for maths they are all subjects I thrive in and I can see around me pretty often, so the immersion trick should be easy to implement!
