    Nice review. I bought this for my Canon lens' hoping that I could somehow mount it to my Rokinon 14mm T3.1 with a non-removable sun shield. To my surprise it slid on snugly and solidly with no modifications needed.

    Awesome! I was just thinking I wasn't going to be able to work a $700 matte box into my first set of gear for a C200 setup I'm hoping to build. This video also made me want to add a BMPCC 6K in the mix later when I expand lol

    • @TheContentShak
      @TheContentShak  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      C200 is a fantastic camera! The matte box is small and sleek. If you need the and raw and to punch in the 6k is a good choice for the bucks

    • @justingilbert4026
      @justingilbert4026 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Content Shak exactly. I want to work on both short film and documentary/commercial style video and sometimes you have to be able to set your shot a little wide to not miss something that only happens once. 6k would give me that freedom to shoot wide in a pinch and not have to worry about having too much negative space in my composition. Also the C200 only shooting Cfast makes RAW on it out of the question for long format video but the 6k with ssd compatibility really solves my problem there

    • @TheContentShak
      @TheContentShak  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Justin Gilbert keep in mind that shooting in 6k has its downsides, even with a 2t drive it’s limited, so I choose shots and time of shots fairly short for the ones I really need to have options for. Price to everything right?

    • @justingilbert4026
      @justingilbert4026 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Content Shak definitely. I could spend weeks going back and forth from video to video to find the perfect solution to everything but sometimes, like in the case of raw file sizes, it’s just unavoidable.

    I wanted something like this, but they won't fit on 95mm (front diameter) lenses right? Also, I kinda wanted better filtration options anyway... nice little matte box though.

    • @TheContentShak
      @TheContentShak  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      They are a little limited but for under 100 bucks they do 90%. Thank for watching!

      @@TheContentShak Yeah, and doesn't hurt that they have a nice clean look. And no problem, I like your style. Keep it up bro. (I just subbed as well when I left that comment.) 🙂🤙
      Side note, I ended up ordering the Basecamp. Expensive at first glance, but it comes with 2 high quality NDs plus the VND polarizer as you probably know, so still somewhat comparable to matte boxes of its size. Plus I saved a hundred bucks on eBay. I'm sort of drawn to companies that do everything themselves, like Apple, Nintendo, and Tesla making their own hardware and software. Hope the Basecamp works out.

    I wondering how you can use a VND filter? Is it possible? And read several complaints about the 4x5 filters being to far from the lens is not good. But seems like a good price until you want to fork out 599.00 for the polapro base camp.

    • @TheContentShak
      @TheContentShak  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I looked at that one as well, my other matte boxes are far from the glass as well. Haven’t run into an issue. (Yet:)

    • @ekphotography
      @ekphotography 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Content Shak i love how the polapro VND works.. but quite spendy. But with the Tilta can you put a VND filter on the outside ring and spin it freely? I would appreciate if you can confirm that. I was about to order one but not sure if it is possible. So the 77 adaptors have a thread to put a VND on them and you can reach in to turn them?

    • @TheContentShak
      @TheContentShak  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If your asking If i’m an use a circular variable filter as well as with the ring. I think that’s what your asking:) I have the supplied ring then installed my variable nd and it works threads on the supplied rings are on the outside and inside.

    • @katlis
      @katlis 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I was wondering the same, and it turns out the rings do have inner threads EXCEPT for the 82mm, which is what I use for all my circular filters. :(
