They JUST released a studio version of this with both full bands. This live performance inspired them to re-record the song with The Warning.
They just released a studio version of Hurt with TW. Jack Underkofler (vocals and rhythm guitarist) of DPS sings the first verse. Dany sings the second verse. Pau sings the third verse. Jack, Dany, Pau and Ale (backing vocals) sing on the choruses. The lead guitarist, Jack Collins, play a 7-string guitar, BTW. Some of their stuff reminds me a bit of Muse, which of course, is something they share with TW.
DPS and TW share the same producer, Anton DeLost of their most recent albums. DeLost introduced TW to their music when TW was in the studio recording KMF and TW became fans. Both bands were a part of ShipRocked last February, which is where they first met. There is a video of Pau in the crowd dancing (and singing along) to this song. Apparently, DPS saw that. Both bands were at Louder Than Life and Aftershock. Before their set at Aftershock, Jack, the lead singer reached out to Ale via Instagram message to ask them if anyone wanted to join them on stage. Pau jumped at the chance.
Also of note, the band is originally from Boston (now working out of Huntington, CA. Jack and Jack (at least) attended Berklee College of Music in Boston in 2015 (which is when TW were there for the summer session. IDK if they met while there, but I suppose it is possible.
AND, DPS is performing in Mexico next month, so maybe DPA will join them on stage for this song and hopefully, someone will record it. Who knows?

Dany sings the second verse until ‘you're outta you goddamn mind’, at which point Pau clearly enters to do the second voice harmony, and the last line is also Dany's solo. In the third verse from ‘tired and afraid’ Dany joins in.
So voices mixed as usual.
I think it’s Ale who is harmonizing with Dany toward the end of her verse.
@@octopusknits yeah, it could be. I still think it's Pau (more than anything, given the 'relationship' she has with the song), but who knows.
I'm sure someone will ask them about it in the next Patreon live, it's those details you like to know. If it wasn't for the fact that I had another question prepared, I would ask them myself hehe.
When another band asks your drummer if she'd like to sing with them, and she steps on stage and takes it over... LOVE that girl. I had never heard of Dead Poet Society until this came out, and they just released a studio collab of this song with both bands and it kicks ass.

I believe they texted Ale and asked if anyone was interested. Pau jumped on it.

DPS and DPA got to know each other on the ShipRocked cruise. Pau posted selfie footage of herself rocking out to this song on the cruise (on her birthday I think). DPS saw the footage and when at this festival, they sent Ale a text asking if DP or A wanted to join them onstage. Pau was…Hell Yes! The newly released version includes a Dany verse, a Pau verse and Ale joining the rest of DPS on backing vocals.

I was there and saw The Warning. Then my daughter text me and said Dad look at the big screen and there was Pau doing it on a different stage. It was great.

In an interview last year Pau mentioned Dead Poet Society as a band she was excited about, on Pau's last birthday she posted a video on her IG dancing in the crowd at one of their shows, this summer Pau did this live performance with them, now she convinced them to remake this song with The Warning as features. DPS have been in Pau's sights for a year, they never stood a chance.
Please listen to the official recorded track with DPA, some great layering guitar work and bass distortion. And the harmonies between all vocals are glorious 👌
It’s been said, but the collab of this song with The Warning is EPIC! Regarding Halestorm, I miss the misery is probably my favorite!
Great reaction. There is a video from a "professional" videographer that was right up front and it has audio straight from the sound board so the audio quality is excellent. The video is kind of trash though. It's vertical and extremely chaotic. but in case you are interested it's titled "Pau singing “HURT” with Dead Poet Society | Aftershock [HQ]" on The Warning Argentina channel.
Also, just yesterday DPS released a new studio version of this song featuring The Warning. Dany and Pau both join Jack on lead vocals with Ale also doing backing vocals.
Pau could easily be a frontwoman if she wanted to be. Cool moment for her. Afaik, Ale hasn't guested yet, except for the collab with Band Maid. But.. yesterday was her 20th birthday, Happy Birthday.. 🎂
You did "Narcisista" from En Vivo en Foro DiDi Monterrey, if you check out the version from Teatro Metropolitan CDMX 2022, you can see Pau come out front to sing.

If you haven’t seen Pau out front before, then it looks like you have not watched Narcacista from Teatro Metropolitan. That’s one of their best live performances and Pau is unleashed! This was her opportunity to honour her drum teacher by having him fill in for her, and he does a great job!

Ale guesting? No problem. Call Eruca Sativa. Ale once said that bassist Brenda Martin is one of her idols. Both bands are friend to each other. Pau already danced in front of them and Dany played guitar for them. Rudy, it's your turn now.
Been listening to DPS's album since it dropped in Jan, well worth a listen. Similar stylings to Muse, Royal Blood. I recommend checking out Uto from the album or .CoDA. from their previous album.

There is a video of Dany doing a guest guitar appearance with Halestorm in Quebec Canada. She does a solo in it with the Halestorm lead guitar player. Its pretty cool! And Dany shreds...

Pau and DPS are a match made in heaven.
As for Halestorm there are a couple videos on TH-cam from when TW toured with HS in ‘22. One is TW doing Narcissista with Arejay Hale on drums with Pau out front and the other is HS doing “Here’s to Us” while DPA and members of other opening acts hanging out on stage.
For as “tiny” Pau looks next to the guys of DPS, it must be noted that she is wearing 3” platform shoes!

Nice reaction! I think the disclaimers on the fancam aspect, and the decision to just review Pau on this was the right call. Both the original version, and the new one with Dany and Pau's vocals, are great. The contrast between the two different vocals on literally the same recording is pretty cool.

I’m no expert on DPS but listened to their recent full album yesterday and heard a lot of Royal Blood in there. I thought it was solid, need a second listen. It appears they were at the Berklee summer program at the same time as the girls, the guys from DPS being older teens at the time. (I dont know if the guys were all there, or met there, or any details. Anyone feel free to correct me on any of it.)

There's a much better video out there with Pau’s vocals close-up and with a much better sound. Pau is a born performer. The new studio cut is great. Sounds more like Pau and Dany doing the vocals.

Pau definitely doesn't have the power in her voice to lead a Rock band like Dany does,,Pau is much better at Ballads, On the studio version they just did Dany really stands out and shines,,and I'm a Pau fan,,Just keeping it real

Why is she lip synching? Everything that the band stands against. She looks like Taylor Swift. And The Warning is my all time favorite band. Not bashing.
What makes you think she’s lip syncing?
How can she be lip syncing to a song she has never sung before?
You can clearly hear her voice in the performance. And if you can't here it in this particular fan-cam then check a few others (there are at least a dozen I have seen)
