@@darenpaulpanganiban8743they should at least give us a new set of healing after each phase or not make the damage dealt to it go down by half pixels per attack.
About the tornado (aka water spout). Just dash to the left or right all the way and then follow the arena border. The tornado will pass quite far from you.
Same. I LOVE this game, I played it as soon as it came out and have completed it 3 times on FF mode and got the Platinum. Finally getting around to the DLCs and I’ve really enjoyed them so far, but this fight is just so hard that it’s not even fun. I can’t believe I’m saying it seeing how much I love this game, but I’m about to give up on it.
I actually did manage to avoid that water spout by holding dash and aiming to the back right behind Ifrit. I died at the last second in that last phase but the advise about just racing to the edge helped me avoid that volley
This video has advice that made me fail the bubble phase many times. Then I realized the whole phase is about how many Spitflares one can squeeze in. If you start Spitflare immediately when the phase starts and only then get closer to the boss, you'll be able to execute that last Spitflare just in time to finish the phase.
Yeah, the difficulty is unfair. The tornado at 23 minutes is unavoidable. I spammed the wildfire dash as fast as I could, and still got caught in it. And if you're in hard mode, it's an insta-kill. So I gave up
@@awildtenshi367 I finally beat her. I tried EVERY direction until ONLY going backwards and right worked. That's it. I tried straight right, straight left, forward left, forward right, backwards left, backwards. Nothing. Until I tried backwards and right. Fucking ridiculous.
I was able to avoid the Waterspout by using Wildfire to move quickly away from the waterspout. It tracks towards you at first, but you can avoid it. Thanks for posting this video! It helped me with Phase 3 after 10 times trying to beat it haha!
The bubble phase is not about damage, I realized. It's about how many Spitflares you can perform. Do Spitflare immediately when the phase starts. Don't try to come any closer first and you should be fine.
i just can't break the shield before he tsunamis... i can literally dodged everything without taking any damage but CANT defeat the 'Press The Attack." what tf am i doing wrong? am i not a high enough level or something??
Do Spitflare immediately when the phase starts. Don't try to come any closer first. I realized this entire phase is not about damage. It's about how many Spitflares you can perform.
Waterspout can be sort of kited around by going back and towards the side, and then once you're clear of it (so that you can see leviathan behind it), foward toward leviathan. Dodging after your dash move might mitigate some of the endlag the dash has, but I'm not sure about that. The biggest issue I had was that first "press the attack" and the consequent tsunami game over. It seems to me the countdown doesnt start until after it blows you back a third time, and it reaches a certain hp threshold. What worked for me (on normal "action-focused" difficulty) was to not launch the fire laser move after the second time Im knocked away (i saw muktiple failures launching it just before being knocked away the third time, because it made the countdown start when I was VERY far away), and when you're attacking the shield, focus on moves that deal stagger damage (namely, a short melee combo with a magic->magic finisher, since the ifrit moveset has has that explosion finisher that launches you into the air.) You can follow this up with the same thing in midair. If anyone has a better method, I'd like to know, because what I did only barely worked, and I doubt it would work at all on a higher difficulty.
So I dodged the giant tornado by rushing to the left and not heading back at all, It looks like it follows you and moving away from him just gives it more time to turn.
I guess it’s like any Dark Souls boss, learn the attacks and how to dodge them. Once you get that, it’s not even hard anymore. The thing you need to know is during the annoying “press the attack” phase, make sure to immediately hit him with that laser special attack, and perfect dodge his attacks as much as you can without sacrificing too much damage. As soon as your specials are ready, use them, especially that laser, you need that for the countdown. You should get it back right before 1 second left. Charge a fire ball whenever he pushes you back and don’t waste it, fire it as soon as you’re able to start moving. Then use the dash to get back to him as fast as possible, while perfect dodging if you can at any opportunity. The perfect dodge time slow effect is what will get your laser back just in time to defeat him. 8 or 10 perfect dodges should buy you just enough time to fire your laser right at the last second. The third phase, just dash to the side to avoid the tornado and jump and dash out of the rings. Just wait for them to start closing, and look for the shortest path to safety and dash in that direction.
@ I think I know the one you’re referring to. I had limited success with jumping and dashing. But what worked in the end, was dodging at the last second. I think there’s a flash right before it hits, that’s when you dodge. The annoying part is how long it takes to get back there. I got to a point if I screwed up too much, I just let him beat me, and started over. It would be extremely helpful if we had a return to last checkpoint option.
How the heck do you beat this without him using that game ending attack. Reminds me of ffx one of the last few final boss battles also had a time limit. About to rage quit ff16
I had a hard time battling him last night so I gave up, had another go today, it was much easier to defeat him today after learning where I went wrong last night aswell as a good nights sleep lol also, waterspout can be dodged, I was able to do it by zooming all the way to the right of my screen, it tries to pull you in but just keep going and you’ll dodge it 👍 Went into the last phase with no potions and 3 quarter health, jump dodging everything, good luck 😀
I tried running down and slightly left immediately and that worked. Then I somehow managed to avoid all the combined attacks onslaught for zero damage. Just defeated him on final fantasy mode but that was the hardest boss of the game without a doubt. I’m actually shaking. Thanks for the help man!
I beat the shield on my second try. But I decided to redo this for For giggles And now I can't get past the shield part. How did I do it the first time. I don't understand
@@DirectGamingYTCould you pls explain what combos/ buttons youre using pls?? I've done all sorts and no matter what I do, I can't beat this phase.. I literally am down to one second and here's comes the tsunami animation, which is such a waste of time.
@@FadedRose54 For combos there is not much I am doing. Usually square 3-4 times followed by triangle. You can also look up combos for ifriet on youtube for those who know them. You just need to be fast when it comes to using your special moves to help with the timing.
I have to admit about Leviathan was a serious pain in the butt. Leviathan’s water shield and tsunami requires right amount time to attack and use special attack.
ive never felt this kind of despair but i did it trying to dodge the water barrage waste to much time use wildfire to dodge the ring attack jump and wildfire backwards the tornado wildfire dodge withe right timing repeat
I couldn't beat that shield thing. I kept running out of time with that count down. U automatically lose if u don't beat it before that. Not just some high damage attack. I'll try an easier mode or try leveling up a bit more
The method I found is to fire spitflare right off the bat, then rush in and spam your combos and abilities (when they're available), while dodging the projectiles and pillars. I finished that section with 3 seconds left on FF mode that way
This video gives bad advice there. Do Spitflare immediately when the phase starts. Don't try to come any closer first. I realized this entire phase is not about damage. It's about how many Spitflares you can perform.

Has anyone even beaten this fucking boss? No joke I already died 25 times and feel like I just don't do enough damage even being at level 96....like this entire boss fight just feel like it's might for you to fail
This is probably the dumbest thing I've ever seen. People paid $20 for this DLC expecting more Final Fantasy 16 and they get Ninja Gaiden so they couldn't even get through it. WTF are the developers doing? It's one thing to over-compensate in the next game, but charging us just to do this? What in the world?
