One of my favorite moments from the 87 cartoon was when Casey mysteriously leaves at the end of the first episode and the Turtles say how strange, violent and insane he was, and Raphael says, "Yeah, I liked him too." Raph's sarcastic humor in the 87 cartoon was the best. Although he might have really meant it.
I loved that one and "Geez you guys, I leave for a few seconds and when I come back you're all covered in crud?!" idk why that cracks me up. So basically IDW Casey as he's literally 03 Casey, and 2012 Casey put together, oh and he's a actual ninja as in the IDW comics he was a member of Splinter's anti-hero version of the Foot Clan, but him, Raph, Donnie, Splinter, Jennika, and some other minor members joined Leo's revived Hamato Clan after Karai via possession by ancient evil backstabbed Splinter literally and figuratively in a successful coup to take over the Foot. He was also dating Jennika for a while before she was forced to brake up with him, and leave the Hamato Clan and take her place as the new head of her birth father's Mafia Famiglia. And the death he gets in TMNT: Last Ronin is one of the most brutal deaths ever.

omg this is the first time i've seen the 2003's version of Casey and the way he says goongala is so different damn, i was so used to the 2012 version just yelling our "GOONGALAAAA"
Don’t like how the later iterations seem to make him more of a comedic goofy sidekick. I like how 1987 makes him funny but seemingly unintentionally so. Though he doesn’t seem to have much more character than that in 87. 2003 does a good job of making him deeper. Though it maybe goes too far a time or two with making him a slapstick goofball. Overall still an amazing character. A guy with no powers, resources or much intelligence still choosing to fight evil with hard work, stubborn determination, and a hockey stick. And he wins a lot. Which is the best part. A good message all around. In a world of mutants, aliens, robots and ninjas, a regular guy can still fight evil and win.
Best part is when Shredder's Elite Guard, his best and deadliest ninja who wiped the floor with the turtles, and then Casey takes out 2 with 1 swing of his bat lol.
IMO one of Casey's best moments. Rides his motorbike through the store window, takes out the elite guard while using his bike, and then gets off and issues a badass threat to all the Shredder's goons. To me that is the best Casey

I haven't watched the original TMNT 2003 in some years, especially with my little sis, it had most of the good stories and humor out of the whole series, interesting characters, and such. 2012 TMNT will always be me and my sister's favorite version of TMNT to watch always. That also had the best versions of the gang ever! Especially Mikey lol, can never forget BOOYAKASHA! in terms of story, I'd give it a straight 10/10 Each episode wasn't afraid to tell those deep stories and mature, and go a bit beyond the story of the turtles we know, especially that episode when the Krang won, took the city, and Leo got set up by Shredder and his goons, that was deep, and the stories after each season only got deeper and deeper. With me, I like those versions of the Turtles, Master Splinter, Casey, And April. At first I did not like Donney's vo, but he grew on me, the only thing I did not like, is how at the end of the season of 4 I think, the Turtles from the future went back to save splinter in the past and in the end the past Turtles went into the future, and the future Turtles stayed in the past,( which is now technically the new future) with Splinter. I did not get that ending, because I feel like the writers could had done that differently, but hey, time travel does make sense in a way, if only they was a bit faster. I don't really watch the new TMNT, I don't really agree with Raph being the Leader, but I know not let a little thing like that stop me from enjoying the show, plus this is an alternate version of them, so Raph being the leader isn't that bad. And Casey was easily the best Casey in 2003 he was muscular, a kind person, and has great motivation, and Leo in 2003 was also badass! But 2012 had the better animation, and was the most true to how siblings can be. Overall I think they both win in some aspects.
