I recently hooked up with a GIANT river smallie on the Treble Head. During the fight, I slipped on the muddy bank and went to the ground, both of my feet in the river. I should have lost the fish, but I was able to maintain leverage thanks to the direct connection with the treble. He only had one hook in his lip! Video coming soon, and trust me, it will be my most epic video to date by a good margin.
@@nextlevelangling I got the 1/8th and 3/16 size right after I posted this. Found them for $4.99 a pack! My river is pretty shallow like 10 ft or less unless you are going out to Lake Erie so I got the lighter sizes 1st. I cant wait to try them out with the rage swimmers I got but its winter and snowing out. I got the 3.75 version in ghost shad on sale for half price but will also get the smaller ones to try also now that you say they work good and the heads are basically interchangeable!
There is a knot connecting my line to the hook, but if you meant between the peg and jig head, there is no knot there. The peg is snug enough on the line that it will not slip off if I have to break the hook off on a snag. I still make sure to pull very slowly to break off so the peg can do its job and bring my jig head back to me. Has worked so far!
@@fdrifareal no worries! I don’t make a knot in the line in front of the peg because it would create a new weak point there, and would definitely break before my double San Diego jam knot
With the top placement of the treble hook I have had no trouble coming across the top of grass, but it’s not particularly designed to be pulled through dense vegetation. If you use a weedless treble and remove the weed guard from one of the 3 hooks to secure it to the soft plastic, you could totally make it weedless. In fact, I think I am going to have to try that now lol
@@PassaicRiverFishing For me, the size of the head and the bait really depends on the depth you want to fish at and the size of the baitfish you’re trying to imitate. If they match up flush, it’s just a bonus. 1/8 oz. is definitely the right size for that shallow pond though - I was packed for a different place and we just stopped at the in-laws for a bit 🙂 Gamakatsu trebles are great - I just started using BKK recently though and they are insane

I love the treble head, it catches everything LMB, crappie, bluegill, tree branches
@@justinmalone8640 those damn trees seem to eat everything 😅
Really good video. I'm liking the bait. I'm definitely going to check those out.
They are the real deal. And with the weight peg, you don't have to worry about losing them. Loving them so far.
interesting that this is coming back around, Bill Lowen invented it in a collaborative with lure parts online in 2018
You're absolutely right, very similar design. I had seen those online, but just assumed they came out after
I'm about to try these out especially since I use a spin rod!
Heck yea man! The 1/8 oz and 1/4 oz heads paired with a 2.7 or 3 inch swim bait have been a lights-out finesse option for me all year 💯

did you have a knot in between the peg and the hook?

@dtffishingmi makes total sense thanks man!!

How weedless is it?

@@nextlevelangling Thank you for your feedback. I just picked up some for a trial. The line through design should make my fat impact much more durable
That head looks a little big for the bait size prob go with 1/8 oz and prob a #6 Nano coat treble Aaron Martin Gamakatsu
