The vocals are just classic F&F. Soft, pure, on point. Big record just will never get it. We want honesty. Forget the ridiculous vocal calisthenics. F&F tells the story with honesty, purity, feeling and true ‘soul’. Great band!
So many of the records from the singer songwriter era...just great pop tunes. Well written, melody, harmony and leave plenty of room for the musicians to stretch and play these nifty little solos that fit. Playing to the song. Well done on some of these hidden treasures
I saw Karla Bonoff sing this song tonight 04/11/24 in Park City, UT. A great show with her friend Nina Gerber on electric guitar and acoustic when Karla played the piano.
Listening to this again and this is my second comment. I worked in the concert business 23 years (Stones, Prince, Madonna, Eagles, U2, Journey, and hundreds more). Again, YOU ALL ARE REALLY, REALLY GOOD. And that's an obvious understatement.
Just real down to earth people who make it all about the song, not the individual performers. Hit the orange F&F to go to their complete list of well over 100 great covers.
I’ve had the privilege of attending several of their monthly Patreon zoom calls and as Lyn says, the band members really are the most fantastic, down-to-earth people you could meet. I have also been very fortunate to catch up with band leader Tim Purcell and singer Maggie Adams’ parents, Larry and Ellen, who took time out during their UK and European holidays for a personal get-together in the UK. Wonderful times!
It is rare for me to love a cover more than the original, but this is one of those times. Wow, you guys absolutely nailed this. I listen to it over and over and over again because it's just so stunning.
I’m sure I’m not the first to say this but , Tim, you are one awesome guy. The talent you surround yourself with, a daughter who has grown soo much in her confidence, the talent she’s always had, and the choices you make in the songs you cover, genius. The band mates, the foxes, pure genius. Sammie, you killed it again, as usual.
I also agree; but I have to admit I don't know who you're talking about. Who's who in the group? I assume Tim is the white-haired fella playing two guitars and the bass all at once? @@rodneylouw4923
I agree with you and I’ve said it many times. If Sammie wanted to get into the industry all she would have to do is stay in her lane with country music and they would be knocking on her door to cut a record. I don’t think she likes country music but there is a career for her if she wanted it.
Sammie's voice has gotten fuller and more expressive with age. She was an amazing singer at 15 when she first sang with F&F, but is now truly a great singer.
Classic F&F. Sammie, your voice was so clear and strong and on the money, this may be my favorite you have done the lead on. Have to listen a few dozen more times ot be sure. Everyone was sharp behind you...musicians, back ups, the works. Well done everyone.
Great Karla Bonoff song that she wrote for Linda Ronstadt. There is a video on You Tube with Karla singing this and Linda doing background vocals. Sammie nails the lead and everyone is superb as usual.
Amazing! I hear Sammie and I think she's the best. Then I hear Maggie and I think she's the best. Then I hear Chase and I think she's the best. Then I marvel at the fossils and their great talent. Finally, I'm blessed that you have all come together to help make magic in my life.
Really, I think Tim's the best. The way he produces and arranges is first class. So is the recording, mixing, and sound engineering. So is the video editing. The real magic in this group is that whoever is the lead vocalist, everyone else is doing so much to bring out the best performance. They care about one another, and you can hear that.
I like Maggie’s voice the best. Chase has the best range. Sammie is solid and the daughter but she seems to overwork the harmonies trying to overpower the other two. Still an awesome group to listen too,
Sammie's voice has matured beautifully over the years. It is softer, fuller, and has more warmth than when she was younger. She is always pitch perfect and effortly hits the high notes. A beautiful young lady with an outstanding voice.
Nice cover. Karla Bonoff, in my opinion, is WAY underrated. "Please be the One". "Oh Mary". And several Linda Ronstadt covers. Thanks, F&F, for covering Karla.
Good night - this gal has such an incredible, listenable "pop-singer" voice. This bunch is like the Chicago of old. How can you assemble _that_ many great vocalists in one troupe? Groups such as this only come along once in a lifetime. Just can't get over how polished and professional they are. I know I always spew accolades, but that praise is so well-deserved.
That was sooooo great. The song was made for Sammie. Love the bits of harmony with Maggie. Love the new do Ross! And the instruments. So rich and layered. SOOO many instrument screens in the edit. Thanks guys. Filled my heart. And I appreciated the Scott tribute at the end. Brought a tear.
This is cool to be able to see what everyone is doing and to really feel the energy of it through that. The harmonizing can raise the hair on the back of your neck! Karla Bonoff is a great song writer and you guys really do the song justice!❤
Excellent connection to "Nobody Love." Sammies voice has matured nicely and she beautifully carries the lead in this song, but she also totally killed "Nobody Love" especially at about 2:30, with precision, tone and pitch!
Sami, Sami, Sami…you are, one, gifted, and graciously talented, young Lady!! Your singing makes an old man smile. BTW… F&F is outstanding, and a credit to the music industry. Keep up the great work!!
Another fabulous song by Karla Bonoff, the best songwriter you've never heard of. Many of the songs she has authored were sung by better known performers - she did a huge number of songs for Linda Ronstadt. She went on to perform her stuff herself and she's a very good singer in her own right. Isn't it Always Love, When Will I Be Loved, I Can't Hold On, Personally, Someone to Lay Down Beside Me, Lose Again - all hers. And of course, Foxes and Fossils kills it, as usual. The best cover group in the business.
How in the world is the young lady not on some record label ?!?! I've watched you folks for a few years.... everyone is superb; but the young lady (Sammie?) has really put in the time and her voice, tone, phrasing, and presentation, and dynamics have really gelled and she has come into her own. Great job.
Listening to Sammie's voice just never gets old. Another wonderful cover guys. Even after the years of going their own ways, when singing together, Maggie and Sammie still have a sublime blend.
Each musician and voices add their own specialty but I must say Sammie completely nailed this one, her voice lends that special voice only she masters, Good job Sammie.
Sammagical! Tim recruits an ensemble cast of All-Stars performers. Each of them can take the lead; as they do, it's flawless, unselfish perfection. We are so lucky to have them.
Definitely 2 voices that were meant to sing together, which is why he asked Maggie if she would join his little project all those years ago. He had heard Maggie sing in church and school since she was about 7.
Gotta be honest, it was Sammie's voice that first caught my attention when I stumbled onto this band and her voice in the performance was absolutely perfect. Thanks for singing for us Sammie, and the rest of the band too!
I don’t think Sammie has ever sounded better. There’s a warmth to her voice that she didn’t have in her youth. It’s more neutral sounding as well, making her more versatile.
I had forgotten all about this song! Such fun seeing the Fossils working their tails off and NAILING IT in the studio(s)!!! The Foxes? Well, talented young women all, singing like angels, floating above the music and bringing it home...I love it!
Short Track, I would respectfully disagree - after hearing her cover "Nobody Love", by Tori Kelly......I was stunned at her range. Pull it up and listen.......it's epic.
You hit the nail on the head. I'm 69 and have always been a strong music love. This is the best singing group since the Eagles appeared on the scene. BY miles!!!!
Absolutely Beautiful………..had to hear it again….then again!
Sammie just kills this song! So great to hear her doing lead vocals!
Yea, Sammie's like a fine wine. Just keeps getting better with time.
Agreed!
Increíble ❤❤❤❤❤!
Yes, I’ve been waiting for a while to finally see Sammie take the lead. She was great! Everyone with F&F is super.
I’m a huge Karla Bonoff fan and you guys nailed it!!
Sammie, job well done and of course the music was top shelf as usual. Thank you ALL
Wow , Outstanding !
Foxes and Fossils continue to make me happy. It was perfect
Soon be 79 and still loving the sound of this group. Hope they keep it up.
Hey I just turned 81 and I love the sound. All the ladies can sing beautifully.
me 2 in Oct.
I'll be 79 Oct.11 I love these gals music.
73. Just found them !!!! Amazing !!!!!
Great, great sound and voices. Loved it
Talk about versatility, all of them master the art of harmony & lead seamlessly. Always a treat to listen to.
The vocals are just classic F&F. Soft, pure, on point.
Big record just will never get it. We want honesty.
Forget the ridiculous vocal calisthenics. F&F tells the story with honesty, purity, feeling and true ‘soul’.
Great band!
Great song you all rock !!!
Totally Sublime....what an amazing team...❤❤❤
What a band, even the fossils rock !!!
These folks just nail it song after song. This is one of the best groups on TH-cam.
Karla Bonoff is underrated national treasure. That cover was well done.
I've been listening to her since 1981. I love Lose Again.
Rose in my Garden is my favorite from her first album
So many of the records from the singer songwriter era...just great pop tunes. Well written, melody, harmony and leave plenty of room for the musicians to stretch and play these nifty little solos that fit. Playing to the song. Well done on some of these hidden treasures

There is no comment I can make to do justice to this! Bravo as always!
Not sure why but I just find this group really makes me smile. On top of being really good they just have something that gives off a positivity.
Just real down to earth people who make it all about the song, not the individual performers. Hit the orange F&F to go to their complete list of well over 100 great covers.

I agree. I just listened to Karla Bonoff’s own version and this is better!
I’m sure I’m not the first to say this but , Tim, you are one awesome guy. Thanks guys for elevating our spirits with every performance!
I JUST LOVE SAMMIE'S VOICE :)
Sammie's voice is so perfect for country! Love this!

Wow! Sammie at her Best!! The band is Awesome as usual!

Karla Bonoff doesn't get enough credit for providing successful original material to Linda Ronstadt. Thanks for this great cover by F and F.
Been watching Sammie grow up. Fantastic talent and beautiful young lady!
Videos from age 14 to 29 on the channel.
And to me she really doesn't look that much different@@lynwessel2471
The beautiful and talented Sammie Purcell !!!!
Great Karla Bonoff song that she wrote for Linda Ronstadt. There is a video on You Tube with Karla singing this and Linda doing background vocals. Sammie nails the lead and everyone is superb as usual.
Karla still has a sublime voice, to this day.
Glad to see that somebody gave props to Karla for writing a great song, and doing a killer version of it herself by the way
Amazing! I hear Sammie and I think she's the best. Then I hear Maggie and I think she's the best. Then I hear Chase and I think she's the best. Then I marvel at the fossils and their great talent. Finally, I'm blessed that you have all come together to help make magic in my life.

" The fossils" lol
Hey! Watch it there, Buddy.. WHO you callin' a fossil?!? 😁
I like Maggie’s voice the best. Chase has the best range. Sammie is solid and the daughter but she seems to overwork the harmonies trying to overpower the other two. Still an awesome group to listen too,
This is superbly done. I had to replay it.
Best cover band in the world, hands down! Love the tribute to Scott at the end…
This one really suits Sammies voice.Brilliant foxes, well played.
Sammie is amazing and the background vocals and band are top notch…
Not to mention 1st class production..
F&F is the standard by which all cover bands should be measured. Perfect!
The gorgeous Sammie! Beautiful song! Love this woman!
Sammie's voice has matured beautifully over the years. It is softer, fuller, and has more warmth than when she was younger. She is always pitch perfect and effortly hits the high notes. A beautiful young lady with an outstanding voice.
I was thinking the same thing!
I still enjoy all of your releases…I’ve been with you for maybe as long as 9 years…Istill have a crush on Sammie…God bless you all…F
Her best song to date. Such clarity and range. Smooth transition to each refrain.
Sammie just kills it. Thanks!
I think Sammie's voice continues to get better and the harmonies are off the chart, Well done.
I can hear tenors, toms and bass, not just snares or crashes as in many recordings. Another reason to respect this band. Solid, reliable drumming.
Nice cover. Karla Bonoff, in my opinion, is WAY underrated. "Please be the One". "Oh Mary". And several Linda Ronstadt covers. Thanks, F&F, for covering Karla.

Speaking of Chicago... I'd love to hear an F&F version of "Wishing You Were Here"...
Outstanding, musically, and video presentation!

Karla Bonoff she is a great singer love this song !!!
Thinking of Karla on this first day of Passover.
Karla was a very good song writer, just ask Linda Ronstadt.
Excellent! Great musicians and singers. I hope the girls continue singing for years to come.
It's very rare when I like a cover more than the original - but this is one! Sammie, your voice gets better and better.
Pretty much all their covers are better than the originals.
I had the pleasure of seeing Karla Bonoff do this live back in the day. I bet she would be proud to hear your all’s version. Fantastic job!!

Love this, especially Sammy’s lead vocal.
What I love most about these videos is the obvious enjoyment the musicians show, both in verbal and nonverbal ways.
Sammie nails it again! And the whole band. Oh - and I just saw that pillow. RIP, old buddy!
Ross King playing at home.
Tim has already announced that Sammie sings lead….and she is spectacular!!!! Oh, baby!!!
Great version of a great song by Karla Bonoff. It’s great to hear Sammy cut loose with her voice. Very nicely done.
The Music...The Vocals...All on POINT!
Although nothing lasts forever I hope everyone in Foxes and Fossils realizes and cherishes the fact that they have captured lightning in a bottle...
