I’m here because I grew up helping my dad cut and put up enough wood to heat through a Michigan winter. Have been running a saw since I was 12. Now I’m in my late 40s and gentrified… I only pick up a saw a couple times a year to help pops clear downed trees around his house. I’ve stayed for the message. In a world of fake people you are one of the most genuine. I grew up surrounded by men like you. Humble, hard working, sleeveless flannels, a shed full of Mcculloch saws and heartfelt talk next to the wood stove.
First reason I am here is respect. Second reason is you have taught me so much. I have been a heavy machine plant fitter, a factory metal machinist, a welder, a woodworker/jig maker/re-designer for when the factory got it wrong. When I roll up with a big saw with a long bar and a sharp chain and proceed to cut trees the way you have taught in your videos it blows people away - your positive message has shown me to do for others out of the goodness of ones heart - thank you for your message and your workmanship Buckin
I’m here to learn the art of cutting trees down safely and keeping the woods clean and healthy and to learn from such a positive person! I love your channel!
Why am I here? I am here because you inspire me to be a better man. I try to live my life to be a good and kind person. I am 65 years old and I want to be better. You are a inspiration to me, how people should live their lives. If we can all do some good on this earth while we are here, then the world will be a better place. If we all do just a little, to make the world better, then as a whole, we can accomplish many great things. I also like to run chainsaws, I cut firewood for my cabin!!!
I’m here for the message and education in cutting ! Like what works and what don’t … I’ve learned a lot and cut over 30 70foot trees with success so far .. many more to cut but ur inspiration
I came here to learn about filing. I've learned so much more it's hard to put into words. I'm starting because I love to see the joy in your face when that saw is cutting just right or an axe is splitting like a Wood Bullet. Your joy puts a smile on my face after a long day. Keep doing what you're doing Buckin'. I'm here... for you
Been watching you for 5 years now. Found you brother when I was YouTubing chainsaws when I first started my landscape company. Been watching ever sense and you are one of the very few honest, real deal, and down to earth people on the internet.
Im here to be part of the Buckin Army. Work hard. Be honest. and being Kind. Been watching you for many years. I can relate as a fellow drummer and a guy who grew up clearing trails and cutting wood with my father up in the woods on the weekends. You are a great man Billy! A great roll model for anyone young or old. Keep the content coming. Lets get to that half a million subscribers!
Why am I here?! The most important question you've asked yet. I'm here because I admire your craft, and know that I dont have the inate abilities that you have. I know that i don't have the time, effort, and love for the craft that you do. Don't get me wrong, I love to run the chainsaw, but it's not my passion. Your passion, your drive, your knowledge...it inspires. Love your stuff. Keep it up! Tree service was here today took down 3 large white pines around power lines, about to go buck wild!
Let me start by saying I'm a tree guy. A huge fan of yours. I live in Alaska and love ripsaw too. And God bless pennsyl fricken vania and them boys down there and God bless you brother all the way from Alaska. Quit a six figure oilfield job to go full time tree guy. Love this blessed life.
I’m here because I noticed a yellow McCulloch chainsaw on your channel, exactly like the one I used as a kid growing up in northern BC. cutting firewood. I thought “ this guy must be from BC and I bet he’s the real thing, a real logger.” So I clicked on the window. It was more than that though, more than just cutting trees. There was this guy with a spiritual side to him saying “friends work hard, be kind, tell the truth.” I’m taking your advice, and I watch episodes frequently. Thanks for the positive message.
I'm here because I love to see hard honest work. I love to see the authenticity and passion. I love to see people dedicated to their craft. On top of that, your message of love takes it from 10 to 100.
He Buckin i am here because of the education from you as an professional in old crafts like swinging an axe or cutting wood! I am shearing sheep’s with blades wicht is an old craft for years. I like that younger people get to now the old crafts an learning how to work from the professionals. I am 25 now. You sending positive messages and learning content with a lot if experience. Thanks for that!
Welcome to Pennsylvania buddy. I'm here because I like you! Anyways - it doesn't matter where you post a video from - or even if it's the same video as two weeks ago.... It's the energy my dude! Keep it real
I’m here to learn about chainsaws. My dad passed away about a year ago and it’s one of the very few things he never really taught me how to use/maintain. Your channel has provided a wealth of information and plenty of entertainment. Thank you for doing what you do and I look forward to all the videos to come.

A come for the whole vibe. Love it. I remember bunyan last year never got to see the show. Spent the whole time talking to the buckin army. If you ever travel to my brother Marks shop I have two trees that need to come down, a 5’ and 4’ popular tree I’m less than 1/4 mile from him. Ripsaws shop looks awesome,!!
This video is a year old and I’m here watching your content because you are awesome to watch. Your personality is top notch. Keep buckin Billy Ray I’ll be watching!
Im here for the oceans of positive speaking and to watch a skilled professional demonstrate his many year's of knowledge! Lot's of love to ya brother Buckin. 👍
That’s cool side-by-side to show the difference you have shown a lot of different varieties of dues and don’ts You’ve grown so much that’s awesome. I hope to be somewhere at a growing pace. Like you have, I can say, I have worked hard all my life doesn’t everybody. If I told you everything I would have to convince you most of my comments on your videos. I listen to what you say and I comment and then I watch the rest of the video and you end up answering or we’re on the same wave length it’s crazy I started writing this then I paused and listen to you more, and then you said you want to hear from us and I was already riding but I work 48 hours a week at a grocery store I am a meat, cutter, I cut firewood on the side and sell. It helps with Christmas and other things I do. I trim trees and landscape when someone’s in need like you say be kind don’t overcharge and I take care of five houses monthly landscaping in Arizona 118° after work I justifying how hard at work but that’s just a start.😊
Yes Sir, you DO work hard. I’ll tip my hat to you ANYTIME! 48hrs+ side work that is definitely not the easiest thing on the body. BUT, it’s a great workout and it takes the mind off of the “garbage” that a man has to deal with for his 10hr day job. I’ve been there so I can understand. I just didn’t have saws in my life at that moment. All that I know how to say in that regard is EXCELLENT 👍
I've always ran saws cutting firewood for my dad. A couple years ago i got a few of my own saws and became interested in them. I start building saws and toying with porting. Now i run a 365 special and 395 and can't keep track of how many others i have. If my career path doesn't work out I've thought about trying tree work. If I'm having a bad day i watch some of your videos and your joy and positive attitude are contagious!
I am here for your positivity. I spent the first part of my life chasing the paycheck thinking it would make me happy. I started watching and listening to your videos and thought a lot about why i was unhappy. I bought my first chainsaw last year and am working on getting out of my toxic work environment at your encouragement and getting to a point where I answer to myself. Going back to being humble. Love the message here. Love working in the woods. Love my chainsaw. Thank you.
Hi Buckin! I found your channel after studying the BC fallers standard and wanted more education on all aspects of sawmanship and axemanship. What I found was so much more, as many have commented. You positive message became the reason I came back daily to watch your adventures and learn from you. Today I’m climbing, topping and falling two trees for neighbors. I never could have gotten to where I am today without your channel!
I learn from your videos.. I buy products to test performance on tools from various brands.. I do landscaping for a living and doing well. I find time to mess around with tools small engines etc... I own 54 chainsaws and plan to buy more vintage saws to collect and use.. my saws outperform others in the same business as i am. I see them struggle with stock saws... i learn from videos like yours and spend lots of money on making my tools better.. its fun... this is the beauty of united states of America... work hard and smart and you can afford almost anything you want. Life is good. Love your videos
Buckin, I’m one of the ones who doesn’t know anything about saws or has ever used one. I’m here to watch you build a brand and be an entrepreneur so go forth and travel. I like the physicality of the axe work and watching you take down a tree methodically using physics. I also enjoy tree work, pruning and learning about the species. Use more of your music in the videos.
As a team member for several years I have seen the channel grow to the point when Buckin dose a job for free it makes all of us feel good knowing we had a small part in making it happen. Buckin’s and our passion together is making a difference. It is a good feeling to be kind. 👍♥️

I am having what we call a smoko break,or morning tea. It's Sat morning here in S.Island,New Zealand. I have been loading out 4ft x 3ft x 7ft bales of barley straw for cows. I watch purely for entertainment and education on Chainsaws (I have a 395 XP,with 42" bar, skiptooth 404 chain and Muffler mod) and the like. Thanks for the time and no small effort you put in.
Buckin, I've been here for at least 7 of the 8 years you've had this channel, and you know why I'm here. It's you and this awesome community. The Buckin Army is getting stronger every day.
Good to see you in my home state, Buckin! I am here because a few years back I searched, "How to cut a leaning tree." I watched a few videos and 1 of them really stood out as special.... yours. You were funny, entertaining and most importantly, uplifting. Hanging out with you is fun. I bore easily with the rest of the internet. But, with your channel, I have something to look forward to nearly everday! Thank you.
Buckin, I think for many of us we are here for you and the message you spread. It’s hope and love and helping and learning. It’s a community of like minded people who enjoy watching you do cool stuff helping others and spreading a message of hope! That sir, is what is contagious about your channel. Keep pushing forward and staying true to yourself. Ps… look at all these well thought out and passionate responses from people! Messengers of Kindness are here!
I'm a homeowner with 40+ trees that I need to clear at my new house. I started watching you for entertainment (even before I started cutting trees...never cut a tree in my life and I'm 47yrs old) but after buying this house, I started learning. I bought a 462 with a long(er) bar because "stand up and buck". I've learned how to hand file (not as good as you of course but I am learning). I've learned to assess the lean, look for hazards, plan the work, work the plan! You are a fine gentleman and I appreciate not only the teachings but also the words of kindness!
@Buckin' Billy Ray What an odd question to ask? Especially when this is one of the first videos I've clicked on of yours in months!!! It almost feels.... yeah. Anyway, I haven't been around the channel much lately because I've actually been talking your advice and trying to get out there and make stuff happen. I've been building a little firewood clientele along with restoring and hanging vintage axes. Life's been getting better friends and I owe you some credit for that. You spoke into me while I was a really low point. Helped me remember to keep my head up. So get out there and find something to do that excites you friends, and please as always, be kind to eachother. Because buckin is right, love really does win.
I came here because i bought 10 acre to build my dream house! I got a husky chainsaw, and you taught me how to properly cut a tree and mod my saw! But i love your personality and the way you explain things! Keep doing ur thing! Love to see it!!

I Am Here Because my Grandson [ I LOVE DEEPLY] recommended your channel ! Apx. One year ago he signed on as a gopher for a tree trimming business. Frankly, he was a bit lost. GREAT PERSON. I was brought here to learn how to file. I am still here to start my day with a little positive energy. I enjoy witnessing your success with your the channel. Most like the kindness message. Please be careful not to become a slave to money. You have opened a door into the hearts of grown men.
Buckin always enjoy your positivity, hand filing, cool new things and running a mix of different saws in different scenarios. As a recreational guy who bucks for firewood and trail clearing. Because of you, my saws are hands-down so much better cutters, my technique and skills have improved and I enjoy it so much more. Keep er’ in the wood!
Billy Ray!!! I watch your videos cause I grew up with in a small rural village here in Ontario,(West nippissing) the sounds of chain saws where alway in hear shot. I now live in the city. Being a genuine person sure has made his life beyond what most can dream......or something like that... So I am 1:50 into the video, you ask why are we here...... Being a genuine caring person, whom runs power saws, would be it for me.......

Here to learn more and have learned a lot from your videos. I work part time on my grandparents farm (used to be full time but am now a full time mechanical engineer now that I’m done with school and hockey) and have always been into cutting trees and running saws. Something about cutting something down and processing it all to be burned and benefit from it make me feel accomplished. Something a lot of men don’t do anymore, and I think it has soured our society. I’m also always looking to learn new skills or improve ones I already have. I’ve been binge watching your videos a lot the last couple years or so. Keep it up!

I'm starting because I love to see the joy in your face when that saw is cutting just right or an axe is splitting like a Wood Bullet. Your joy puts a smile on my face after a long day. Keep doing what you're doing Buckin'. I'm here... for you
I came here to learn more about cutting trees, I’ve stayed because your a great person. Thanks Buckin’!
👍💪 I totally agree
@@stine19741 💪👍
Thats a nice well setup and tidy workshop ,awesome.
There was this guy with a spiritual side to him saying “friends work hard, be kind, tell the truth.”
I’m taking your advice, and I watch episodes frequently. Thanks for the positive message.
Love the videos keep up the great work I’ve learned so much from you and love soaking up your worked knowledge
I love he’s videos to
I'm here because I love to see hard honest work.
Here for the love and the straight goods. Ordered a Buckin 201 dog for my old 194 this morning, thanks again Ripsaw!!
You're a good man mr Ozark
@tinmanssaws Right back at ya friend

Mint 2 stroke, and your motivation thanks Billy..
Welcome to Pennsylvania buddy. I'm here because I like you! Anyways - it doesn't matter where you post a video from - or even if it's the same video as two weeks ago.... It's the energy my dude! Keep it real
I'm here because this channel makes me a better person.
I've been here for 5 or 6 years and I keep coming back.
I’m here to learn about chainsaws. My dad passed away about a year ago and it’s one of the very few things he never really taught me how to use/maintain. Your channel has provided a wealth of information and plenty of entertainment. Thank you for doing what you do and I look forward to all the videos to come.
Hello my name is Jaymes R Small and I'm here to learn and grow not only as a cutter but to grow as a person as well, I will be along with the you till the wheels fall off!!! Like always God bless you and yours and with love peace and saw Grease Jay small
I’m here because you are a man of integrity. It’s entertaining, educational, uplifting & inspiring. It’s a privilege & a pleasure to join you on your journey & be a messenger of kindness.
Great answer friend, thank you

LIKED WHEN YOU AND MORGAN TRAVELLED ACROSS CANADA WAS A GREAT VIDEO SERIES
I love watching people cut trees. I identify with the physical labor and I love the craft of it
The positive energy, family oriented, hard working ethics and honesty, the chance to learn about equipment , upkeep, general maintenance etc., good businesses and great people in the Buckin Army, the sharing, caring , for others, this kind of positivity truly is what the world needs, and i will continue to watch, listen and learn, thanks Buckin and family, kindness wins.❤
I'm here because I love doin' firewood and l still want to learn more from 'da man himself'. This community is so positive and supportive, it always make me feel good to watch Billy and read comments. Thank you, LOVE & HUGS to all.
I came here when you only ran the yellow saw,s you and then the old timers that you learned from you put them on and wisdom was the proof that your a real person and are kind enough two help others was relating to my life I blew my back out and can’t hold a saw any more and am still hear for you take me to what I miss the most the woods that’s why iam here .. your awesome in every way buckin your good people .. o and the sound of the saws .amazingly brings a smile on my face brother your awsome man that’s all there is to it thank you and be safe ..
If only people could have come out and showed our support. I'm about 2hrs. southeast in central Maryland, Retired and would have loved the opportunity, even to just say hi and shake your hand.
I am here because Buckin has his finger on the pulse and every episode is informative. I am learning every time I watch.
Thx Rand
That’s cool side-by-side to show the difference you have shown a lot of different varieties of dues and don’ts You’ve grown so much that’s awesome. I hope to be somewhere at a growing pace. Like you have, I can say, I have worked hard all my life doesn’t everybody. If I told you everything I would have to convince you most of my comments on your videos. I listen to what you say and I comment and then I watch the rest of the video and you end up answering or we’re on the same wave length it’s crazy I started writing this then I paused and listen to you more, and then you said you want to hear from us and I was already riding but I work 48 hours a week at a grocery store I am a meat, cutter,
I cut firewood on the side and sell.
All that I know how to say in that regard is
EXCELLENT 👍
@@ToddAdams1234 thanks for your reply I love working hard that’s all I know it’s in my blood. Thanks again for your comment
Nice, thx
I am here for your positivity. I spent the first part of my life chasing the paycheck thinking it would make me happy. I started watching and listening to your videos and thought a lot about why i was unhappy. I bought my first chainsaw last year and am working on getting out of my toxic work environment at your encouragement and getting to a point where I answer to myself. Going back to being humble. Love the message here. Love working in the woods. Love my chainsaw. Thank you.
Love that!
I'm really happy for you that you are getting on a road that makes you happy. Wishing you success in all you do, love from Germany 🌲🌳❤️✊🏻
I’m here because you just a loveable dude and have a magnetic character that’s straight up no bs.
???
The BC fallers guide is a great series of videos with a lot of good information.
Right on, thx
@@BuckinBillyRaySmithI came here to learn about axes. And I stayed for the music and good vibes
I like watching you work and I learn how to cut trees properly how to fall them also how you hang an axe, neat!😅
As a team member for several years I have seen the channel grow to the point when Buckin dose a job for free it makes all of us feel good knowing we had a small part in making it happen. Buckin’s and our passion together is making a difference. It is a good feeling to be kind. 👍♥️

The Buckin Army is getting stronger every day.

i start watching you shortly after i seen you on ax men, that's where the journey began !!
Thank you.
I am here because I learned so much from you, and because of the good spirit that comes out of you. You’re my kind of people.
J this is great ,
@Buckin' Billy Ray
What an odd question to ask?
Love to see it!!
i'm here because i love power saws, axes and firewood. been heating my home with wood for 25 years. also your message of kindness is just what i've been saying for years. And now your in Johnstown. right in my back yard. My dad worked in those steel mills years ago. So jealous i couldn't see ya when you were so close.
I started working in the woods when I was 12 years old. I still do it from time to time. I enjoy seeing somebody that knows some things that I don’t and learning. coming at you from Nova Scotia Canada.
Happy to help buckin!😅 I do watch your videos. Thanks for being so nice

I Am Here Because my Grandson [ I LOVE DEEPLY] recommended your channel ! Apx. One year ago he signed on as a gopher for a tree trimming business. Frankly, he was a bit lost. GREAT PERSON. Simply had not found a direction. Within the last 60-90 days he told his father, he actually woke up every morning LOOKING FORWARD TO THE WORK DAY !
amazing turnaround
He quoted some of your ""sayings"" in a conversation with me later on. I started watching you so I could develope some " common ground"" with him.

I grew ip spliting fire wood for the house. My dad still cuts fire wood and loves it but I never took too the chain saw.... but last year he bought my 1st saw and has been teaching me and I want to help family plus learn more. And now I stumbled on to your site and continue to learn. Thank you. Your stoke and knowledge fuels my flame. And if my dad had internet access he would be fired up too.... pardon the puns . Thank you for all your work and knowledge it help people!

I only have been watching for a few weeks now bucking and I’m here learning to fall trees at 16 so I can go out and make money with a saw and also here to watch a fabulous TH-cam Chanel that outputs some of the best content on this app
Looking to learn more about the saw life. To keep myself safe. Thank you for all of your knowledge!
Hmm.. As I sat to watch the video title, Ripsaw in Pennsylvania... My thought was how cool... Another amazing experience for Buckin.... Being a genuine person sure has made his life beyond what most can dream......or something like that... So I am 1:50 into the video, you ask why are we here...... Being a genuine caring person, whom runs power saws, would be it for me.......
I was originally here for the axe's but now I'm mainly here for the work saw pipe's. I like to build saws and pipe's for my own enjoyment and personal knowledge. Thanks for all the inspiration!
Good stuff

You’re a good man. A positive influence. A teacher/educator. That’s why I’m here! Still learning about things I enjoy.
I am here because I know I can learn a great deal from you and your videos. Doing tree work. And running power saws. Thanks.
Awesome! Thank you!
Keep it up!
