I like everything other than the plot, it's so messy I don't understand how they've gotten away with just relying on cillian Murphy and its cinematography with it having nothing of substance in terms of a continuous plot.
@@RorschachNL I don’t know why that other person is mad you dislike the accents. But if you’re off-put by British accents you should watch Legend, it’s on Netflix and it’s a really good movie. I watched it and it kind of gets you used to it.

you had me at "each season has 6 episodes". so much of the modern shows (even great ones) are always soooooo damn long and spaced out. breaking bad for example is my favorite show of all time and even that one drags at certain points.
Like that one episode where they spent an entire episode killing a fly in the lab.. People ate it up but I always found episodes like these to deteriorate from the show. Saying that though, Breaking Bad is certainly a MUST watch!

At least 5 of the top 7, *most watched new British dramas of 2019* are by *ITV,* with ITV's *Manhunt, Cheat, The Bay, Cleaning Up,* and *A Confession* taking the top 5 places by October 2019, and as far as I can see those figures were only beaten by the BBC's *His Dark Materials* by the end of the year. The *most watched British dramas* from the latest viewing figures available for *May 2020* are by *ITV,* with ITV's *Van Der Valk* beating the BBC's *The A Word* and *Killing Eve.* The *BBC* only has 5 entries in the latest 28 day *most watched shows for April 2020,* with three of those entries being the *BBC News,* one of those entries being *Masterchef,* and just one drama entry with *The Nest.* The other 25 entries are *ITV* shows, with the ITV drama *Quiz* taking up two entries in the top 30. My personal favourite British dramas, from the ones I've seen in the last 10 years include: *Unforgotten* by *ITV* (2015-present) 10/10 *Line of Duty* produced by *ITV* for the *BBC* (2012-present) 10/10 *Our Girl* by the *BBC* (2013-present) 10/10 *The Royal* by *ITV* (2003-2011) 10/10 *The Street* produced by *ITV* for the *BBC* (2006-2009) 10/10 *Shameless* by *Channel 4* (2004-2013) 10/10 *Skins* by *Channel 4* (2007-2013) 10/10 *Happy Valley* by the *BBC* (2014-present) 10/10 *Waterloo Road* by the *BBC* (2006-2015) 10/10 *Taboo* by the *BBC* (2017-present) 10/10 *Luther* by the *BBC* (2010-present) 10/10 *The Virtues* by *Channel 4* (2019) 10/10 *Top Boy* by *Channel 4* (2011-present) 10/10 *The Musketeers* by the *BBC* (2014-2016) 10/10 *This is England 86, 88 and 90* by *Channel 4* (2011-2015) 9/10 overall *Peaky Blinders* by the *BBC* (2013-present) 9/10 *The Bay* by *ITV* (2019-present) 9/10 *Ackley Bridge* by *Channel 4* (2017-present) 9/10 *The Syndicate* by the *BBC* (2012-present) 9/10 (ITV have some involvement with the show however) *Informer* by the *BBC* (2018-present) 9/10 *Victoria* by *ITV* (2016-present) 9/10 *Cleaning Up* by *ITV* (2019-present) 9/10 *DCI Banks* by *ITV* (2010-2016) 9/10 *The Capture* by the *BBC* (2019-present) 9/10 *The Bletchley Circle* by *ITV* (2012-2014) 9/10 *Keeping Faith* by *S4C* and the *BBC* (2017-present) 9/10 *Sherlock* by the *BBC* (2010-present) 9/10 *Bodyguard* produced by *ITV* for the *BBC* (2018-present) 9/10 *Tutankhamun* by *ITV* (2016) 9/10 *Humans* by *Channel 4* (2015-2018) 9/10 *Primeval* by *ITV* (2007-2011) 9/10 *Gentleman Jack* by the *BBC* (2019-present) 9/10 *Cilla* by *ITV* (2014) 9/10 *Last Tango in Halifax* by the *BBC* (2012-present) 9/10 *Appropriate Adult* by *ITV* (2011) 9/10 *Hatton Garden* by *ITV* (2019) 9/10
If you go back even further to the 90's and 00's then *ITV* dominate the drama category with my favourites being *Heartbeat* (1992-2010), *London's Burning* (1988-2002), *Where the Heart Is* (1997-2006), *Soldier Soldier* (1991-1997), *The Bill* (1984-2010), and *Peak Practice* (1993-2002). There's still loads of *ITV* dramas from the last 10 years that I need to finish like *Scott & Bailey, Bancroft, Liar, The Widow, Home Fires, The Frankenstein Chronicles, Prey, Home Fires, Maigret, Grantchester* etc (I've done the majority of the episodes from the above shows), and many more I haven't seen yet like *Downton Abbey, Vera, Marcella, Flesh and Blood, Manhunt, Jericho, Belgravia, Strangers, Mr Selfridge, Dark Heart, The Durrells, Foyle's War, Harlots, Doc Martin, Chasing Shadows, Identity, Whitechapel, Wild at Heart, Black Work, McDonald and Dodds, Safe House, Next of Kin, Marchlands, Lightfields, Injustice, Just Henry, The Suspicions of Mr Whicher film series, Titanic, Broadchurch, Love and Marriage, The Ice Cream Girls, The Guilty, Breathless, Lucan, Undeniable, The Great Fire, The Lost Honour of Christopher Jefferies, Arthur and George, Midwinter of the Spirit, Jekyll and Hyde, Harry Price: Ghost Hunter, Beowulf: Return to the Shieldlands, Doctor Thorne, Churchill's Secret, Houdini and Doyle, Paranoid, Bouquet of Barbed Wire, The Trials of Jimmy Rose, Monroe, Homefront, Him, Dark Angel, The Halcyon, The Good Karma Hospital, Fearless, Girlfriends, Trauma, Butterfly, Torvill and Dean, Wild Bill, Sanditon* etc etc. The majority of the *ITV* dramas I have seen but haven't mentioned I gave an 8/10.

@@Carolboss1 your one of the few than. I will have to agree that season 1-2 were good but could have been seen as a little too crazy plot wise. Season 3 has been amazing and I would say compared to some of the best organized crime movies/shows I’ve ever watched.
I’m blown away seeing and hearing a Chinese guy with a British accent. I’ve been alive for 40 years and have never seen this before. Congrats on being so unique!
According to me, the characters were good. Perfect casting. And about the acting, not sure why Cillian didn't receive an Oscar yet. Cinematography was so good. The only thing that left me unsatisfied was the story. I mean I get it each scene was carved so perfectly. But they could've added some emotional touches to the story. Or even plot twists would've made it better. People say season 4 had that interesting ending, but it isn't worth a wait of 6 hours. It was a predictable ending. These all made the show a bit laggy. So this show is a lifestyle. Not recommended for people who watch movies to pass time.
I have watched first season but after watching it i got a spoiler that grace is gonna die in season 3 after marriage with Thomas and I don't know i don't feel like watching it any more as i like the character of grace so much and after season one i don't like the character of Lizzy and after knowing that she end up with Thomas it just disappointed me and i don't know i just lost that engaging spark of watching the show i don't know whether to continue to watch it or not can anyone suggest what should I do ??
It’s just nice to actually have a show that doesn’t involve some stupid cgi super hero fighting another cgi super hero spawning 200 spin offs/films and 800 universes.
The brits simply do the arts the best. I dont know why or what structures they have in place to that ends, or if its just a cultural thing, but in a completely objective sense it is simply a fact. To me at least
Just came across this video while researching the show before I decide to watch it. And I have a question, how bad are the nudity scenes? I’m not a big fan of watching shows that have them but I can deal with a few here or there but if there are a lot I’ll probably pass on this show.
It's no where near game of thrones level let's just say that. Season 3 has the most explicit. But most other seasons, there are some, but it doesn't distract from the plot, most times it's a part of it.
Is it better than Breaking Bad? I know they might be 2 different type of shows but which one is more addicting? My coworkers keep talking about it so I’m going to check it out on Netflix.
Both are amazing shows, but I'd say Peaky Blinders . Breaking bad's acting and plot in general is so amazing and realistic that it feels like an invasion of privacy rather than an actual show. That's how good it is. Downside to this is that there are so many scenes that make me tense and uncomfortable since they are real world scenarios, causing me to stop watching midway. Breaking bad made me reflect more in real life, due to amazing characters like Walt and Hank, but the characters in Peaky Blinders were way more enjoyable. Tommy Shelby especially. Peaky Blinders is much much more fast paced and you'll be hooked in an instance, whereas Breaking Bad you'll need to give it a couple of episodes. The writing is better in Breaking Bad though in my opinion, but Peaky Blinders was MUCHH more addicting to watch
@@shafo827 yeah I just finished Peaky Blinders and it’s definitely more fast pace and more tense. Both shows are amazing, I really like the realism and attention to detail in Breaking Bad and I love the action and savageness in Peaky Blinders.
Breaking bad to peaky blinders - Stay Out of My Territory.... 😂 Bhai Peaky Blinders is amazing but please dont say that it's the best show.... Breaking bad is far better
It is my opinion after all, hard to put an objective best on this type of stuff anyways cuz everyone has different taste. I think I'm just trying to share a gem I discovered, in no way am I trying to put down other shows hahaaha breaking bad is incredible!
bro peaky blinders and breaking bad are different in your words their "Territory" is different Breaking bad is mainly focused on drug production and shows the complete transformation of a regular high school teacher to a complete badass meth expert whereas peaky blinders is partially based on the the true gang named peaky blinders and depicts how the English gangster's time was. Therefore both are the bosses of their "territory".
I watched the first 3 episodes found it messy cluttered with to many storylines in each of the 3 episodes I watched I gave it a chance but what I will say is the acting in it is great and the old fashioned set is great but no I didn’t think it was great I think I went in to it with high expectations and it didn’t deliver at all overhyped in my opinion it’s not like breaking bad where I knew what the story was a family man becomes drug dealing kingpin
I don't disagree with you that the first episode, and maybe as far as the first 2 episodes are a bit messy because there was a lot of information and character they had to introduce, but the show definitely picked up after that.
I would have to make a video like yours to describe how I feel but I’m almost done with season two right now moving to season three and I’m very disappointed by the show. The acting is brilliant the cinematography is stunning in the set pieces are beautiful. however the plot decisions are all over the place characters make random decisions that are completely out of their character. you don’t get any attachment to the majority of the characters nor you get a proper look into their backstory. questions that were never answered in season one where did the Peaky Blinders come from how many people do they employ what are their end goals: and thats just 1 example of the plot failing out of 100 there’s a lot of build up for no follow through in several plot points of the first season. Cillian Murphy is a brilliant actor though there is no question and definitely made the show what it is
this comment is a jumbled mess but if you actually want to know what i think ill leave a more in depth comment you can pun towards the top of the video
@@Ellebelle2565 I'm glad that at least you enjoyed some aspects of the show. I am curious tho as to what you mean by no attachment to characters, big build up no follow through, as well as some of your other criticisms. I felt like the show brought to life some pretty iconic characters that definitely made me want to see more of. with regards to backstory, which we get a glimpse of here and there through out the seasons, I don't think it's all that important to show the audience, it's nice to have a bit of mystery sometimes and be thrown right into the mix. On top of that, I didnt feel like any character decison was out of character, it's especially hard to judge that in season 1 where we essentially learn who the characters are, their values and morals etc through their actions and their decisions. it's a shame that you felt that way about the series, hopefully it gets better for you in later seasons, if you decide to continue watching it
Trust me Luke you don't want to go any further. We had the same exact opinions bro when I started watching this! Trust me it doesn't get any better. I am on season 4 and it's pretty terrible 😭😭😭
just finished the show and my first verdict: meh.. too much slow motion walking. it's not cool if used in an inflationary way, more like an infantile, pubesenct fantasy. also it has some plot holes and bad writing in it. could have been a very, very good show if done right, sadly it's not. but i give you that. the acting is really good for the most part and the soundtrack likewise.
Hahaha dude we 100% share the same opinions. Here's my review for the show This show is simply filled with clichés. Season 1 a woman Grace pretends to be in love with our protagonist but in reality actually works as an undercover spy. Already so cliche hahah! And yes just like anyone with a half a brain cell would predict, she eventually end up falling in love with our main protagonist Thomas Shelby! What a big fucking surprise, like no one would have thought that 😂😂. This is a story that's been told a hundred times. And yes just like you'd further guess, our protagonist does end up forgiving her and they end up falling in love again. Besides we have new villains popping out of the blue in every season to kill Thomas Shelby! In on of the seasons Polly randomly reveals she has a son that was taken away from her. And all of a sudden 20 fucking years later her son randomly pops out of the woods and gets back to her. Thomas Shelby gets Polly's son Michael the next day after waiting for 20 fucking years after Polly reveals in the show that she had a lost son. It almost makes me wonder what the show's characters were doing for 20 fucking years! The plot points in this show are a hard to digest Besides we have new women popping up in every season to suck Thomas Shelby's dick. On top of that you have this women bootlicking Thomas Shelby with the most cringeworthy and cliche dialogues to preach how much of a great man Thomas Shelby is! And yes back to my previous point, we have new villains popping out of the blue in every season. All of a sudden some random fucking Italians remember in season 4 after 20 fucking years that they have to take revenge on Thomas Shelby. Its almost like each villain waits their turn to take revenge on Thomas Shleby after every season even if that has to make them wait for 20 fucking years!! I thought now perhaps things would get somewhat interesting after John's death. We now have a new villain and his name is Luca Changretta. The show tries to portray him as so powerful that he beats through all of Thomas Shelby's bodyguards, personal security and his family members just so he can get into a room with Thomas Shelby to talk to him. He had a clear chance to shoot Thomas but again just like every other villain does in every other film, he wastes time talking when he has a clear chance to pull the trigger. He cunningly breaks through all of Thomas Shleby's security and personal security, risks his own personal life just so he could get into a room with Thomas Shelby and land the most clichéd dialogue deliveries and punch lines in a thick Italian accent. Yes this show just doesn't get any worse! The show wants to portray Luca Changrettra as extremely powerful yet he is so fucking stupid at the same time! By the end of the episode, we see Polly making a deal with Luca Changretta into setting Thomas Shelby up for death The makers make it seem like it's some really big fucking surprise element in the plot but any viewer with half a brain cell would have realized that this is just a trap into killing Luca Changretta! Literally every viewer knows the relationship between Polly and Thomas and has the fucking common sense to distinguish that Polly wouldn't set Thomas up for death. The show makes it seem like a big fucking plot twist but I am sure anyone who would have watched this scene could already predict what's going to happen. At that point I literally laughed during the show, the showmakers are no genius. Also the show wastes a lot of time. And when I say, I mean an expensive amount of time. All of a sudden I am suppossed to care about Aberama Gold's son boxing match. First of all I don't know who this man is. I just know him as a man who randomly pops into Thomas Shelby's vicinity one day and asks to buy this place. And from there on, all of a sudden I am suppossed to care about this man's son's boxing match! I know no details about this man but for some reason the show wants me to care about this man's son' boxing match And yes I have only watched till season 4 so far and yet I already have so many complains. I am yet to watch season 5 and 6, I have no reason to believe it gets any less stupid... And you call this show best show ever, like seriously? Ae you all so amazed with such mediocrity? Breaking bad is a classic (I havent seen myself so hard to judge, but i've only heard good things about it). It is much longer than Peaky Blinders though, so it is a bigger commitment if you will. Peaky Blinders only have 6 episode per season, so it's very concise, the storyline is very tight, no filler epiodes. I am biased towards Peaky Blinders though haha
Because this show is freaking boring and it sucks ass! Thank god I am not the only one who feels this. I have had to literally force myself to get through this show
All exaggerations and hype aside, I honestly think it's pretty good but I've learnt that some people don't like it, so best way to find out is to watch it! I do recommend at least finishing a season before judging tho, it's only 6 episodes.
I'm sort of 18 The only thing that I have a problem with is the sexual scenes it feels unnecessary like it's some wicked way to put a filler Maybe it was itened for a different kind of viewer But me personally Thats not fooking right

I KNOW RIGHT FAR OUT so pumped for it tho
About time they stopped making bottle seasons
I’m more obsessed with this show than anything else I think it’s a problem
its all about writing genius character in this story along with Mr. Shelby hats off to writer. 10/10 for this series.
I have gone literally mad after watching Peaky Blinders!!. But it is very underrated. I want people to understand how much good this tv show is !!
IKR!!!
Started watching the show 1 week ago, now i am already at season 6 i guess i am addicted to the peaky fooking blinders
Just knowing Cillian Murphy and Tom Hardy are in it is enough for me.
honestly yea
Just finished the full seasons
Peaky blinders is the best show i have ever seen
Hahah don't kid yourself 😂😂😂
I think this dudes in love...
I just finished the whole five seasons in four days and I have no idea what to watch next, everything I watch (they are good but) never reaches the level :((( ahhh, it's beautiful, what draws me to the show are the characters and the writing and the production and just everything, just quality
oh my god i know right and the story and characters just sucks you in along with the incredible visuals, whole show is just beautiful
Quality my ass! Lol don't kid yourself. This show is simply filled with clichés.
The plot points in this show are a hard to digest
Besides we have new women popping up in every season to suck Thomas Shelby's dick.
By the end of the episode, we see Polly making a deal with Luca Changretta into setting Thomas Shelby up for death
The makers make it seem like it's some really big fucking surprise element in the plot but any viewer with half a brain cell would have realized that this is just a trap into killing Luca Changretta!
I know no details about this man but for some reason the show wants me to care about this man's son' boxing match
And yes I have only watched till season 4 so far and yet I already have so many complains. I am yet to watch season 5 and 6, I have no reason to believe it gets any less stupid...
And you call this show best show ever, like seriously? Ae you all so amazed with such mediocrity? I want to know your opinions and what you really like about the show?

Bt how's the Series overall.... story, Screenplay wise? Is it really worth watching?
I’m blown away seeing and hearing a Chinese guy with a British accent. I’ve been alive for 40 years and have never seen this before. Congrats on being so unique!
Also the story is really well written, which made this show good
According to me, the characters were good.

Both are good in their own ways
The BBC make some incredible pieces of media.

@@justmovierants8762 thank you so much! Okay then ima give it a try 👍🏽
I've watched it like 4 times
Breaking bad to peaky blinders - Stay Out of My Territory.... 😂
Bhai Peaky Blinders is amazing but please dont say that it's the best show....
Breaking bad is far better
It is my opinion after all, hard to put an objective best on this type of stuff anyways cuz everyone has different taste. I think I'm just trying to share a gem I discovered, in no way am I trying to put down other shows hahaaha breaking bad is incredible!
Narcos?
bro peaky blinders and breaking bad are different in your words their "Territory" is different Breaking bad is mainly focused on drug production and shows the complete transformation of a regular high school teacher to a complete badass meth expert whereas peaky blinders is partially based on the the true gang named peaky blinders and depicts how the English gangster's time was. Therefore both are the bosses of their "territory".
I've been a huge, huge fan of #BreakingBad. It's wonderfully awesome! But #PeakyBlinders is better than that!
I mean there's a reason breaking bad is so popular (or "overrated") because..... it's good?

Hahah yep yep there's a lot of quota lines in this series
I kinda agree it would be better if the episodes were 30 min long I don’t have the attention span for an hour lol

Breaking bad vs peaky blinders which one is worth the watch?
Breaking bad is a classic (I havent seen myself so hard to judge, but i've only heard good things about it). It is much longer than Peaky Blinders though, so it is a bigger commitment if you will. Peaky Blinders only have 6 episode per season, so it's very concise, the storyline is very tight, no filler epiodes. I am biased towards Peaky Blinders though haha
