If you should ever find yourself doing one of these again one thing I started doing was to put the input shaft on the end of the main shaft ,with the bearing off of it, and sliding the whole thing through the main case. Then once the tail housing bolts are snug tap the bearing down onto the input shaft.

I feel like i will rebuild another one eventually and that seems like a different process that I would try out. Appreciate the input, thanks.
