What do you mean my canopies aren't even.... How dare you Shane😂🤣
lol😆
@MIGROLIGHT Hello I was wondering if running your lights at 80% for flowering is bad? I am trying to keep temps down below 86. My plants keep stretching and are going past the light now I've had go super crop them. It's only my first grow that's why I was wondering are my plants stretching because the lights at 80%?
@rad1calracoon713 you need a bigger tent and an air conditioner lol. 80% power is okay.
@@justinholtgrave thank you. One of my plants is so big that it took over the other plants. It takes up around 35, 40% of the whole 5x5 tent. It just keeps on going.
@justinholtgrave I've finally got the tent down to 78-82 hopefully these buds will be good it's my first time growing.
Been growing way too long to not take advantage of the science! Thank you very much. Really looking forward to growing under a good light!
so until now even you are doing it for a long time you have just grown shit? nice... good job you clown... keep going...
I re-learning how to grow from the old days of my 1000H China-man hat with 4 600hps surrounding it, and a big marine magnet on my power box smashing the old trusty legacy Herer strain. A lot has changed in almost 2 decades including digital power meters 😆Was a bit young and ruthless back then... but In all seriousness thankyou. I want my new school grows to be efficient and healthy and not for profit just for fun and good green and I think you stand out as one of the more well researched TH-camrs in my "back in the game noob" opinion lol, and ps I am doing my Capsicum and Chili Peppers on the side during the cold months so its win win. As an LED Ignoramus your vids are critical info for sure, just have a couple of V/S P1000s for now and some tubes around the edges. Will expand later after watching more of you vids.💪
I followed one of your homemade grow lights cutting off the cover for the LED lights home bulbs for a 2 by 2grow space it worked awesome and my plants flowered thank you so much I still have that grow light today
always appreciate your helpful information.
Always good info!
Thanks Buddy 👍
I needed this so much
Thank you once again, for useful science based facts!
Thanks 🌱
Awesome sauce thanks!
I've got the red 383 bluetooth lux meter shown and use it with the PPFD app and a selfie stick to get some door closed readings by poking it through a gap.
Another good video
Opened up the tent turned on the air conditioner on high cool, buds 3"away nano lux 630 on high, looking awesome.
I had mine as low as 20 cm from the tops almost from the start of the veg. Now i grew little footballs, had to hang it further up and now they are finally stretching.
Thank you so much for such great input Shane. I need to ask you though: I've been using the ARAY 120W at 6" hight, almost from germination all the way to harvest. I dimmed up to 100% even before switching to 12/12 and I never experienced any burnt or stress from that. Why the average height suggested then is supposed to be double, 12"? Thanks once again for your cutting-edge amazing LED lights!
hi MIGRO. i love your videos!!! you encouraged me to make my self a led sistem ;) i made led sistem 700w with 6 bar, each bar have 300 chip 4000k lm281b+ and 12 chip osram 660nm. at 700w 18" i have 1200ppfd (using Uni-T UT383 multiplied by 0,017) in the center. i can dimable from 100w to 700w if i want. Do you think the proportion of the osram 660nm that i have is correct?????? thanks!!!!!!!
Very helpful video thank you!
My only question is about the LED percentage controller - I'm trying out a Maxibright 660W Pro LED in a 1.2M x 1.2M tent and the first time i used it i ended up Tacoing everything mid-Veg as i had already whacked the LED up to 100% doh!
Could you please give a rough idea of what stages you recommend each percentage for - I'm hear you say seedlings should be kept at 25% for 1st couple of weeks but how long would you run at 50% for, and when or what stage would you normally step up to 75% and 100%?? And I'm guessing the light needs to stay at 12 inches above canopy throughout all the percentages??
Thanks very much in advance!
Imagine how much tweed has been grown by shanes lights, oodlees and oodles of the stuff.
excellent results from your UVB fixture sir!) Kindest 💚
you use it, as they recommend it? middle of day for 2h for the last 3 weeks of flower?
@@czuncz1 exactly with VERY sticky results!
@dust6242 are you running the same genetics as before yoy added uvb? Or new genetics?
Same here only I experimented by using the same strain and only giving half uvb. The difference was unbelievable. Only a moron could deny the science plus results I had.
@@BJahoda yes the only difference was the addition of UVB.
Still the best Shane!
I was curious if you have heard of the szhlux 500w and if you'd recommend one for a beginner
Can you test some leds from "cresience" ?
Could you do a light test using Porsche headlights, it would be interested to know if they’re really getting used as grow lights as the internet has led me to believe
Hanging height of a Spiderfarmer 1000 led on a light mover? 6"? Closer?? Thanks Shane.
Please test a 630w double ended cmh from adjust a wing its pretty cool
Hi, check this comparison out: th-cam.com/video/wzwb1DiM0ME/w-d-xo.html ALL CMH very similar in efficiency and spectrum
Hi Shane, what's the procedure with light and DLI when flipping to 12/12.
If I have understood the theory correctly, light intensity has to be increased to maintain DLI?
drop the light to increase PAR or allow them to grow into it while stretching which also increases PAR
🔥🔥🔥🤘🤘
When you use mainlining and clones your canopy can't be more even...and to get rid of this problem when I use seeds and different techniques I have a QB's over each plants
nice
@MIGRO I am confused, i hope you can explain.
I ordered a Aray2, should arrive end June.
In the video it states optimum hanging height is 30cm, but your website only show par maps of minimum height of 22cm and 39cm.
So there is no par map of optimum hanging height of the Aray2 on your website nor does it states 30cm is the optimum hanging height.
Does this mean that your best led light for a 2x2 for 2024 comparison video is based on 22cm hanging height or 30cm hanging height? And what height are other lamps tested on: Optimum hanging height or minimum hanging height?
If tests where done at 30cm hanging height, why are they not shown on the website?
I started comparing other lamps on your website and do seem to have par maps of optimum hanging height.
I really like your videos and this got me convinced to buy a Migro Light, but this video and compared to previous data i have from videos and your website got me all confused and i hope you can explain and update your par maps on your website for the Aray2.
When the branches start folding down and outward it's time to raise the light
You only get a hot spot if the light does not move.
Turn the light up and move the light.
1500 lux an a 150mm grid use rabbit mesh and plastic pipe subframe for a cheap startup with good close spread
Shane maybe u can help here, currently I flower with x2 600w hid’s with hps or cmh bulbs in there, thinking about going with x2 spider farmer g5000 led’s to replace but the cost of power use is not a problem apart from costing me the best part of a grand for new led lights ouch! 😢 ( if I buy them )and I also need the heat they produce as in Scotland the weather is shite and cold so hid work great in my climate and my gro sits at 31oC without any hassle in late flower I use ac to get to abt 22oC for the preservation of terps etc etc..Will I see any benefit at all on the yield , quality of flower taste etc etc or any faster to harvest using led or are they simply cheaper to run ? I get dammed good results as it is and plenty weight at harvest time I switch between mh hps and cmh bulbs throughout the crops entire cycle and do add CO2. Cannabis is the crop in question What’s your advise ? The cost of power is no worries so with energy costs out of the equation whats your thoughts on my question above ? Cheers j
What about Using a light rail? Setup correctly they can really help a lot. No hotspots since lamp is moving. Can also get deeper in canopy with higher power settings. Wouldn’t use in no less than a 4x4.
Could you please test the Mass Metal Halide bulb please? The veracity of the claims about a more sun like spectrum should be tested by an objective tester.
Hi, check this comparison out: th-cam.com/video/wzwb1DiM0ME/w-d-xo.html ALL CMH very similar in efficiency and spectrum
I bought the spider farmer g4500 which for some reason has hanging hight for se series only in instruction manual.. and hence by following this completely fried the top of my plants... not very happy.
most plant grows best between 25/45 DLI based on what stage of growth you are
Tie down the higher reach branches once the lower one reach the same height it's all good.
Ive spent years trying to get an even canopy it occasionally happens i imagine its been luck 🙈🙉🙊
Hello Shane
We need UNDER CANOPY LIGHTS
Yes please, side lights and under canopy!
I love my "Spot On" PPFD- meter, helps me so much every grow! well worth the price well made!
3:34 600w of any decent LED hung at the top of a 6ft tall 4x4 is more light than soil can keep up with. Any color other than 1 shade of green before F7 is too much light for the roots to keep up with.
And if they won't stay green and praying happy prayers with all the watts you got, then every 2" you raise the light adds 1" of penetration. More PPFD to the bottom of the canopy when the top is already maxed out.
Shane test some AliExpress lights pls bro
What I want to know is, can you have lights so close that they damage THC production, yet the plant remains healthy looking and green?
Please test omega black 720w bar led please
have you experienced any bleaching of tops this close?
An example of light burn here: th-cam.com/users/shorts93nTiZAm7M4
the king of lighting for chillies get them as close as possible or suffer the inverse square rule and if you get cotton mouth you have done it right. pity the cut-off diy philips array is not featured at 110 lux per watt
Why do all lights only point straight down?
Yea Shane on the new hortibloom mega 800 light u just tested little bit back. You totally missed the recommended hanging height u said 12” and hortibloom says 18”-36” and led optic depot that sales them has 18”-36” also and light is so strong it’s probably going need be in middle of that at around 24” maybe even more
✌️😎🔥🔥🔥
😎👌
Finally someone said it. No one can seem to grasp the sun can be up to 2500mm, I see everyone having the light way too high. Mostly with cheaper lights. You can get them very close
I recently got an Aray 4 and have had it within 14-16" of the tops set at 100% and no sign of them being unhappy. Considering the manual suggests 10" at 100% during flower I'm guessing I could still move them way closer.
@@competetodefeat4610 they are good lights. I have mars hydro and they can be 4 inches with the 150watt, and the 650w I go 8 inches to the top at about 1500mm so the lower leaves get more light. I get arm size flowers. Just never let them go dry. Auto water or check every day
@@competetodefeat4610what media?
It's only 2500PPFD for a couple-few hours per day during veg, and the leaves are never praying towards the sun for those hours. Since the light is the size of a penny, it's easy to point their leaves north for 200PPFD. In a tent, leaves taco and twist because they can't look away.
But if your plants are green with flat praying leaves, then you don't have too much light too close to the plants.
@@aether6500 yeah so you keep slowly getting it closer until it does taco. Also lots of air flowing over the top of the canopy. Auto watering for a few times a day. But it can get huge flowers from a small light really close
Why didnt you test spiderfarmer? arent they any good?
Tested lots of them over the years, just search through the channel
@@MIGROLIGHT ah okay, thx will do :)
Garbage
Do what works for you. Simple. Isn’t it
Greenception ist das beste led
Pleite
In Germany
Greenception Cob version was very good
Sanlight in Germany better
Top quality
No light is the Best Led bullcrap
What are you saying? No light is the best (as in..... 'I grow in the dark' ) or are you saying all leds are bullcrap? P.s I'm not sure I agree with either statement
Solar for the win
@@freedom_born oh is that what he was saying? That makes more sense...... then yes, solar is the best....... its just when he wrote 'no light is best' and I thought ' you'll probably struggle'
@@rickster9065
Maybe he thinks No LED light is the best. Perhaps alluding to the opinion that HID is king. Probably an HPS diehard. Idk.
Obscure comment wasn't it.
Does t even matter as long as you have the correct ppfd at canopy???
