And I’ve tried this technique on Ableton & on my SP404 but you can’t just do it to any song randomly. You have to really know that a particular song will work with that technique to be able to do it, otherwise, it just sounds like mush. Maybe I’m doing something incorrect or taking in the wrong part of the song but nonetheless, there’s no doubt that he was a musical genius.

@@jdillasmpc2774 yeah it’s always like that with dilla. It’s so smooth it’s sounds like a loop when really he tied together like a million pieces of audio
Is this the instrumental and the album version chopped together? I’m new to maschine and don’t know how to chop different samples in one group on 16 pads
That don't say goodnight at the end hit me way too hard. RIP Dilla.
I loved how he chopped along kicks and snares regardless of where they are in the sample. Makes for a unique collage of samples as a result.

@@Paytonwh yeah it really depends on sample, sometimes a sample will have a nice perc loop that goes well with drums added on top
Wow, I actually have a new found appreciation for this track. I didn’t even realize there were so many chops and cuts.
And Dilla's timing is literal perfection
That was the beauty of Dilla and specifically donuts, the chops were at times undetectable, sounded like loops.
Wtfffff Dilla was incredible... Thanks for showing us the genius of his sampling and chopping. Respect
Literally the only song that has ever made me cry
don't cry
this song alone evokes so many good and nostalgic emotions. i thank Dilla for everything he has done

18 years ago today, Donuts dropped.
And many can't catch up to that style of hiphop.
You killed that shit
what other software did you use in tandem with your Maschine Studio?
Hi! Nothing - this was just done with the Maschine Studio, and 2.0 software.
@@andythomas3308 what model bro?
Why did this seem like a dream

Put it at speed 1.25 x
Woooo! Stank face
you’re a human metronome
Got to speed it up but nice work
How much does the this cost
The Ah AHHHH! sounds sad.
I know bro was trying not to cry at 1:25
Do u make beats

I bet u couldn't do waves
KOH ProDuctions That will take lots of work.
Waves is easy to chop
Waves took me 15 minutes to remake, not gonna lie
It’s much faster tho
Its a redux
You forgot to make it faster
Didn’t he reuse the “So far to go” sample?
So Far To Go used Bye. as an instrumental
