Love a good rough shooting day. It’s not about the size of the bag. For me it’s working your dog, seeing a few birds it doesn’t get any better than that. I’m loving what yourself and your boy are doing. Great channel and keep up the good work.👍🏻
Thanks for watching Conor, glad your enjoying the channel. We're enjoying making the videos. It's a great way to look back and remember some of the fun times we've had. I'm the same as you, that day we've just been on is my favourite type of day, work the dog, shoot a bird or two and have a laugh with friends. 👍
Hi Ed thanks for watching. I've toyed with the idea of music but don't think theh need it. I have a drone now and it's not got a microphone so it will need a little when we use it's footage. 👍
well done a good days rough shotting cant beat it ,nice shot on the fox allways a bonus ,supprisped there wasnt any woodcock in the wee wood looks the place for them ,thanks for the videos mate ,from northern ireland
Hi Gavin thanks for watching. We had a great little day. I haven't seen a woodcock this year yet, maybe the mild weather has something to do with it. Glad your enjoying them 👍
I know Peter. Nice to get one at that farm, we've sat out dor hours down there without a result and to get one like that was brilliant, one happy farmer. Thanks for watching 👍
Great video again guys, you two boys have the life of it, seasons fishing over now shooting.. excellent…. Good shot at the fox, unfortunately.. 😂. Hound man here 👍🏼👍🏼
I've spent the last 14 months training my springer Indie, She's working well in training. I'm still waiting to get an opportunity to get out rough shooting pheasant with her. Great to see your son shooting with you. I shot my first ducks at 14 years old. 2 mallard drakes on an evening shoot at a flood.
Thanks for watching, she's at a good age to slowly introduce her now. It's tricky getting places to shoot. I'm lucky to have what I do. I've had it all for a long time now and it was tricky to ge to begin with. I love it when my son comes out. I'm just fortunate he's so keen on fishing and shooting. 14 is young to get started I didn't start until I was 21, my dad fished but didn't shoot. Roan shot his first duck when he was 8 or 9 at one of the ponds. He gets better every year. 👍
It wont be long before the young fella will be out shootin the ole fella great hunt what are yas using for shottys 12 or 20's.I just got a 20 ou for rabbit an partridge but for waterfowl i use a 10 ga browning gold with reloads we do alot of pass shooting here and not much decoying.I have a black lab for retrieving he gets better every year me i get older and slower lol..
Hi, I think he's pretty close to me already he just doesn't think about it too much. Just swings through them and down they come. I use a 12 and he uses a 20, he's had that a couple of seasons now, started on a 410. I bet the 10 will make light work of the geese. My wee dogs 9 now so slowing a wee bit but loves it, she did really well that day. 👍
Thanks David, that farm we were on is a sheep farm, unfortunately they cause havock at lambing time there and need kept on top of. They are fascinating animals.
@@scottishoutdoorlife I understand they are a pest and needs must but it’s a bit ironic that every lamb born has a £ sign on its head and are slaughtered after a few weeks maybe the farmer looking after the pocket I am sure more foxes escape the gun than die it a country life after all cheers mate
Hi Lorenzo thanks for watching, yes it is legal in our country he's not allowed to own a gun himself, it's kept on my certificate, only I have access to the cabinet and he needs to use it under my supervision. He's 13 this month. 👍
Hi Freddie, thanks for watching. Yes he shoots a KOFS 20 bore, started with the 410 but has had that one for over a year now, he loves it and shoots really well with it. I asked when j bought it and it is steel proofed, just need to watch the chokes in it, the same as the other guns, nothing to tight. 👍
Hi Mick, it must be the accent 🤣, I said 18 head of game total, pheasant duck etc. We do have a lot of hares up here, too many in some places but wouldn't normally shoot that many in a day. Thanks for watching. 👍
@@scottishoutdoorlife oops sorry about that,I really shouldn't of questioned it,as you come across as a really decent guy,who goes about the sport in the right spirit and your splendid lads a credit to you
Thanks, I'm a firm believer everything has it's place in nature foxes included and in moderation. Unfortunately not on a farm which has lots of lambs every year. We need to keep on top of them there or they'll cause havoc in the spring.
Love these vids I take my son out too duck flighting on our rough shoot and with rifle. Nothing better. Keep making them
Thanks for the kind comments. Time is always against us just now so not out much but hopefully next season.

@@scottishoutdoorlife Cheers. Bagpipes instead of drum and base and thrash metal please😀.
I hate both so your in luck it'll be something like bagpipes I'm sure.
Top day out.
Family time is very percious!
Thanks for watching Gary, it was a great day and the fox was a bonus. 👍

Amazing video . I’m an italian hinterland and I hope I can come hunting in scotland .
Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed it. You should try to get over, it's a beautiful country 👍
Great shot with the fox. I've done lots of beating for guns but never had a day shooting myself. Roan is a great shot with the birds.
Thanks, he's becoming a really good shot for his age. You should try and get a shot at the beaters day where you beat, it's good fun.
What a great day to spend with your boy brilliant 👏
Thanks for watching Martin, it was a great day out. Lots of memories. 👍

Thanks, it was a real snap shot on that fox, we try and get out somewhere once a week or fortnight during the winter. Lucky to live where we do.
Your pride is plain to see; this is what it’s all about. Luck to the pair of you 👍

Does your son shoot a kofs 20 bore? Does it take steel
Hi Freddie, thanks for watching. Yes he shoots a KOFS 20 bore, started with the 410 but has had that one for over a year now, he loves it and shoots really well with it.
