First, we bring you something never before captured by Shooting Show cameras - a traditional fox drive on Childerley ground in the south of England. Paul has assembled a crack team of beaters for this uncommon but no less effective form of Charlie control. That leaves Paul himself to get behind the Browning shotgun - let's hope he doesn't miss...
And on the test bench is the Pulsar Apex, the latest rifle-mounted thermal imaging unit to hit the market. Byron delivers his verdict on this high-tech unit.

I was always told to treat every gun as loaded even if you THOUGHT IT WAS EMPTY, to see the young lads leaning on the end of the barrel of their semi auto's, if it did discharge it would do some serious damage, come on guys, gun safety please show others how it should be done, muzzle awareness.

Me too Stuart ! Great show this week, Peter. That Thermal Imager is a great scope for all sorts of shooting especially vermin hunting. Nice stuff.

Great video as usual. It was hard for me to give the video a like after the young chap using his barrel as a rest, not the best example to be shown on a shooting show. im sure the gun was empty but in my books fire arm safety is paramount, if you think your being to safe your not.

Liked everything except the youngman leaning on his gun. scary. rather shocking as i was under the impression over the years that gun safety in the field in the UK, Scotland and Ireland was above reproach. i watched a video years ago i believe on north american hunter where an American hunter was warned on a pheasant drive in the UK for crossing the line with his muzzle between "shooters". that always impressed me. Fur-Fish-Game carried an ad that featured a poem written by an Englishman for the gift of his sons first shotgun. i had it made into a plaque and kept it for years. last two lines were " you may kill and you may miss", "but always son think of this, all the pheasants ever bred wont repay for one man dead"...

The fox drives that I go on here in Australia (every Saturday during the winter with up to 30 people involved) are a bit more egalitarian. We alternate between being the beater and a waiter. Only people that wait every drive are the elderly invalids in our group.
Foxes in Australia are a disastrous introduced feral so the government conservation agency supply our group with ammunition and other material support. Last weekend we got 17 foxes.

@Travis Thacker We're heading toward a fox problem here in Britain. They banned hunting with hounds back in 2004 a lot of Rabbit have died due to Rabbit VHD2 and RHD2 rabbit haemorrhagic disease and the foxes are populating urban areas because food is easier to get. Not many people know it but councils are paying people to drop van loads of foxes out into the countryside. Tame foxes in the countryside (you know what will happen) also If you search TH-cam there is a video of a baby which was bitten by a fox, they interviewed a neighbour and he said one night he was scared to go home through the streets because there were between 20 and 25 foxes on the road outside his house. I don't like to see foxes torn to pieces by hounds but then again I don't like to see injured foxes after being shot and the job the hounds did was to catch those injured ones.

+Air Rifle Shooting and Varminting Totally agree when I saw this chappy doing this the first time I thought oh dear bad practice and most certainly not what should be shown in a shooting video (unless it is a What not to do with a Shotgun). Someone needs to gun through the basics of Firearm Safety with this guy! I'm afraid firearm safety is paramount for me, seen too many accidents abroad. So I have to give this video a dislike. You guys in video should have corrected this young guy on video to set a good example.

Honest question, what is wrong with foxes around an agriculture farm? A farm with livestock, I understand, but would foxes around crops not help keep rabbits and other pests' numbers down? and that fellow, 12 mins in, god! He better have bulletproof deodorant on!

My gosh. How many times does that have to be explained. I'm sure that you have seen other videos where they kill foxes and there is always someone like you to ask the same stupid question. You know why they do, if you don't then just read the comments and some other idiot will ask the same stupid question as you and someone with some brains will explain it to you. You won't accept it or believe it because you don't want to. But that question has been answered over and over and over. Either pay attention or quit watching.

Years ago a fox ran past our house and my Dad told the hunt it had gone in the opposite direction, Dad's actions probably saved the fox. We bought a farm here in Wales and reared sheep etc. One night I went out with my Mum to check the sheep as they were lambing and witnessed a lamb which was just being born get pulled out of it's mother by a fox (Honestly this is true). The ewe was defenceless and the lamb dragged ten yards before the fox dropped it because it heard me coming. Some people hunt for their own personal pleasure yes, others hunt because for them it's the social side that they enjoy and being part of a hunt means fundraisers and events etc and they enjoy being a part of that. Some of the men enjoy the leg pulling and banter especially down the pub in the evening being amongst friends. Some hunt because they know like me that there is a genuine need to control foxes to keep them healthy. How many rabbits do you see in the countryside now since fox hunting was banned? Not many I'll bet. Maybe this is because hunting has been banned? Who knows? I can't answer that but look in the fields. Are they full of cattle and sheep these days? No, they aren't. People think that by not eating meat they're saving animals lives but are they? Do farmers rear animals for their own pleasure and enjoyment? No, they rear them to eat but people aren't eating them nowadays, so is this really saving animals lives? Or, are animals not being reared in the numbers they once were? I don't hunt or shoot animals but I know what I've seen and I understand what Facebook groups etc are doing to our animals which is a shame because I was sort of hoping that my Grandchildren would eat the same sort of meals I used to eat. People are being brain washed these days. Recycling is killing our oceans. Vegan Facebook groups are killing our farms and the government will have us all eating meat farmed abroad where the regulations aren't as stringent as our own and therefore the animals face all kinds of cruel ways of being slaughtered. Now come on, wake up. God put everything on this earth for a reason or he wouldn't have made carnivores, omnivores and herbivores. Predators need controlling or disease will wipe them out or predators will wipe other species of animals out. God made stupid people so they'll lean on their guns and wipe themselves out and in this way they won't wipe too many animals out. God made good and evil people so they will wipe each other out and the world won't be over populated. I'm done nobody is reading this far anyway!!
